I love that you explained how to cook and eat the different items, not just the meat. I really enjoyed the voice over and appreciate the editing that actually showed the places you went to instead of just talking about it. I appreciate all the work you put into your videos!💖❤💝💜💙
I just started watching your videos and oh my God awesome you explain everything perfectly . Thank you so much. I have learn so much. Can’t wait to visit Korea in 2025. 😃🤩☀️

We just left South Korea, this guide would have been super helpful when we were there, next time! We visited a few places and got the hang of it after watching what others were doing. Thanks Megan!
Oh, the first restaurant has a branch at near Gangnam Station!!! [Gangnam Pork Sanghoe Unlimited Refill Gangnam Station Branch] 11, Gangnam-daero 98-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Awesome video Megan and those tips on cooking and eating at korean bbq restaurants are really helpful and well thought out, no wonder why you're getting alot of subs and popular which is just incredible and awesome. Good job on it 😊
Here's my new restaurant guide! 😍🥟 www.thatch.co/guide/2m5c59nag2r45/view Curious… when was the first time you had Korean BBQ? What was your experience like because, for me, I was clueless 🤣 As always, much love! 🫂♥️
i know you are not a big fan of seafood but why don't you show us around a seafood market! You can pick your own seafood and eat at the restaurant in the same building.
As a Korean, I do not remember the first time I tried Korean BBQ. But I do remember the first time I brought my American frds to a Korean BBQ restaurant in SF when I lived in Cali. I still do not know if they enjoyed the Korean BBQ experience or not. But there's one thing that I was 100% sure: All of them loved soju with seafood pancake (해물파전). I think they just loved seeing me make a perfect concoction of soju and beer for them.
Thank you so very much for these amazing tips. My partner and I will be visiting South Korea for his Birthday in September (for the very first time) and these tips are so helpful. I made sure to subscribe to your channel 😁🤞 These videos are awesome ‼‼‼♥♥
When I went to a bbq place I went without any idea of what I was doing. I went alone and I felt really nervous lol. It was over charcoal as well. The staff was really nice and taught me how to cook and serve myself the wraps with hand gestures and also preparing a wrap for me haha, because I don't know Korean. I remember one of the ingredients which I was served was a round pink slice of something, I honestly have no idea what it was. The people from another table were nice as well and when they came back from their smoke break they started telling me things in Korean and giving me thumbs up lol, it made me feel welcome and happy. Definitely one of the best experiences I had eating there :)
What a beautiful story!!! 🥹♥️🫂 I love it and wish others had this experience too! I also wish restaurants were always like this but sadly… each restaurant will be it’s own experience… but it’s always good to remember moments like this whenever you do have a challenging experience in life. Would love to know the restaurant you went to though so I could support them myself! Let me know if you have the address ♥️🫂
Megan... I am 51... I am moving to Korea to teach history at an in international school. I am very apprehensive and anxious about it. I will be moving alone as my family will stay behind. Any advice for a middle-aged male? Any advice would be helpful. It is one of those once in lifetime opportunities for me before I get to old and no longer able to travel.
What a great question. You might be surprised to hear that many people are doing the same thing as well! In my friend-speeding event, there are people of all ages! I would say that my church is the way I met all of my friends and built community while living abroad. Bumble BFF if another way to meet people and there are also facebook groups for those living in Seoul~ If your family is on board and you want to go for it, you should! Life is too short to live with regrets! 😍 I hope this helps answer your question but if I'm missing something, let me know!
Hi! I was trying to look for the restaurants you recommended BUT I can’t seem to find how far they are from the airport. We have a 12 hrs layover so we want to go and eat somewhere in Seoul haha.
My spouse and I will be in South Korea the first week April. We are very nervous about ordering at the large open fish market. Any tips? We both prefer plane simple steamed, grill and raw fish. We are not sure how to order so the chef does not mess up our meal with lots of spices and sauces.
I know this is a very American question to ask, but, is it easy to find restrooms to use when roaming around these markets and on the streets?? What do those restroom facilities look like?
Finding a restroom in South Korea is easier than in the United States. Most restaurants have their own restrooms, or you can use a restroom that belongs to the restaurant building.
@@임경훈-f4w awesome! How about at public markets? Are we able to find access to restrooms easily? I only ask because I drink soo much water that I know I’d need to use a restroom more frequently than most ppl.
Koreans tend not to eat unseasoned, high-quality beef wrapped in vegetables. Just dip it in salt, soy sauce, or sesame oil. If you eat high-quality Korean beef wrapped in vegetables, you will be scolded for not tasting the beef's original taste.
In Korea you usually have to eat Korean BBQ with at least one other person. There are some solo Korean BBQ restaurants though! I would recommend trying one of those out or finding some people to go with via Bumble BFF or meet-ups like my Friend Speeding Event~
@MeganOsten can you recommend any solo korean bbq joints then? I will be going 21st of September. Looks like I'm officially looking for a kbbq partner 😅 my treat!
My parents used to cook it on cookie sheets and in the oven. The whole house would permeate, with delicious scents and I’m still a meat lover to this day. KBBQ=🫶🏻

I feel Korea not that food at English but only trip handle level. people can't speak English but understand English order like that
What she is really trying to say is go with a local. Find an ahjuma to cook for you.
If only I could hire one to take with me everywhere...
