Oregon fan here. Love the videos and breakdown. Great work fellas! Ducks and Bucks: Two great teams. Period. Buckeyes are really talented and can win it all. The Ducks have never done it before but are playing different this year. The winner of this game will come down to explosive plays with fewest mistakes. The coaching factor shouldn’t be overlooked either. Lanning is a calculated gambler. Sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn’t. Day is a smart, winning coach but much more conservative. You’re not going to see Day dial up a fake field goal in his own territory. As a fan, I’ve banged my head against the wall at some of Lanning’s play calls but also celebrated some of the mad genius of his schemes. So, the question is which approach is more successful? Also, Chip Kelly is a riverboat gambler, too. He likes to push the envelope so he definitely brings an edge and creativity to the Buckeyes’ offense that is difficult to defend. Great players in Kelly’s brilliant plays are often a winning recipe. Kelly’s fingerprints on this offense make things much more interesting. Two great teams, another great game in a classic venue. Go Ducks!

Everyone is a calculated gambler until they lose. This year has been wins so far but we’ll see how the season ends. Watching Dan Lanning in big games takes years off lives.

🦆 fan here. Thats my only complaint about lanning. To aggressive at times. The guy just has no fear. which if the play doesn't work can completely switch momentum. But I wouldn't trade him for anyone. Win or lose its been a great year. I was hoping they wouldn't have to face the buckeyes again. That team is stacked

6:38 their tackle #65 basically bear hugs Cody Simon from the side (with his head behind Cody), preventing Cody from putting pressure in Gabriel’s face during that deep throw.
Calls go either way, sure. But if we’re going to diagnose a play and what went wrong, I think acknowledging a big hold is warranted.
Excited for a rematch. No tricky kickoffs, no rule loopholes, no home field advantage. Just straight up football.

The speed of Oregon is what worries me they just ran by our corners in that game .

Their speed is definitely exceptional across all 3 spots, but it seems like Burke had more trouble biting on moves than guys just running by him. Doesn't matter how fast you are if you slow to anticipate a move while the other WR accelerates past you.

16:00 mark when he was talking about JTT guessing on the option, which allowed the qb to score. He did the same thing in the Tennessee game where he let Nico gain a first down because he guessed thinking it was the rb taking the ball. Hope he fixes that before Oregon.

Yup, I saw that too. It was infuriating given that him crashing on the RB gave Gabriel a nice path to a TD.

@@williammasters1620 He definitely added stuff they hadn't done all year up until that point, but they're actually stunting and moving guys around more. Not sure how much more effective it will be as I still think Oregon scores 24+, but they might at least be able to get negative plays and TOs.

My takeaway from this is Oregon’s offense is flexible enough to adapt and exploit whatever is given to them.

This kind of feeds into what I’ve been saying OSU needs to do but on much simpler level. By that, I mean that OSU NEEDS to get to Gabriel QUICKLY and they need to force a turnover or two. OSU needs to capitalize on those turnovers too. It’ll be hard to continually stop Oregon on most of their drives, so get the ball out of their hands.

Need to play with the same intensity and emphasis on execution just like we saw on Sat against Tennessee. Calculated risks and bring pressure. Safeties will play a big part. We have the best safeties in the country! Let’s go Buckeyes!!!

  • @CarlaJenkinsTV

    1. Denzel Burke getting flamed like a Hot Cheeto. Burke is not going 1st round but 4th. OSU must act like that. 2. Traveling 2 days from the game when Oregon is 3 time zones behind 3. Clock mismanagement. You can see OSU change 1 and 3 this past Saturday.

This is purely execution and fundamentals. The defense has come a long way since this game. I believe we'll see a better performance defensively.
