I really hope they localize Jakou no Lyla. I'm a thirsty bitch in need of spice in my otome games as a grown woman, but I understand that might not happen if the game didn't do well in Japan. For now, I'll enjoy games like Piofiore, Cupid Parasite, and Olympia Soiree so I can enjoy a little bit of spice.
I hope they also localize Beast Master. I remember seeing CGS of the game reviewed by breadmasterlee and that alone drew me in.

It's not that it wasn't successful, just not as much as current games
And I think at least for now localisers seem to concentrate on current games
They actually did localise it as a mobile game, but it recently stopped being supported (same with Wand of Fortune)...just hope they pick them up again and polish those translations for console releases

It was so nice seeing everyone's favourite games, especially getting to see someone who is part of the localization process and it's just made me all the more excited for Norn9: Last Era coming out this month! I *really* hope we get Nil Admirari no Tenbin out in the west someday (if not I'm just going to cave and buy the Japanese version 😆).

I honestly don't have high hopes for Nil Ado, but who knows, and I think the anime did a decent job, maybe that can be a supplement?

There really is something for everyone :D I can also never shut up about Piofiore, so my friends are probably really familiar with it at this point without having played it..😅 And I really want to play Norn9 now, it looks so intriguing :0

i'm newer to otome games but so far my favourite has definitively been PioFiore. I just can't pass a day without thinking about Orlok and I even bought fanmerch of him, i'm also currently in the middle of Olympia Soirée after one of your video got me interested and it's very good so far!! (I only did Riku's route atm since I don't have much time and also going through a backlog of physical books and the CGs have been ... wow 😳)

I want 9 R.I.P. to be localized so badly!!! I honestly know so little about it that I didn't even know about the 4 different worlds setup - I was wondering how they were gonna pull off 9 LIs haha. I just love yuuya art so much! Love that 3 titles they've worked on made it into this vid.
I am obsessed with AmelieDoree vids, this is such a surprising and lovely crossover! I think there are a lot of otome fans who crave something darker, and I think non-otome titles with female protagonists are definitely worth a shot!! Because god knows the 18+ otoge market is always in shambles

This was great! I really enjoyed seeing all the content creators and of course the array of picks! I got into VNs in the mid-2000s. There wasn’t as much info in English on otome games as there was on VNs with a male protagonist/focus. I always found myself wishing for a more female-targeted version of something like Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night, or Ever 17. I’m so glad more otome games are widely available in the West now. I’ve been loving Norn 9 and I’m looking forward to playing 9.R.I.P. I’d love to see Princess Arthur get a new localization that retains the voices this time since the Switch port recently released in Japan and a port of some older titles like Sorayume, Meine Liebe, or even previously localized titles like Yo-Jin-Bo or Animamundi would be cool.

jakou no lyla does sound like the ultimate. ive seen a few other like 18+ otome games but even they play up the 'innocence' a lot and i wish they just go more wild... ive seen the japanese version on steam only atm tho so... feels

I really regret not getting Cupid Parasite when it first came out. Now i can’t find it locally 😭 i also really want 9Rip to be localised. I’m a sucker for supernatural themed otomes (which is why Cafe Enchante is my favourite)

Hihi 🤭 finally the time has come
I have Norm9 and Poifore and need to get to both now that my health has improved. I stumbled on otome and visual novels in college and have fallen in love with them since. My favorites, from both Indie titles as well as bigger games, include: Hakouki, Changeling (Steamberry), Frozen Essence (Unbroken Hours), Cinderella Phenomenon (Dicesuki), and Ikemen Sengoku.
Cinderella Phenomenon is free and is a absolutely beautiful retelling of several fairy tales (with the dark tones too). Frozen Essence is also free, an older fantasy gem that is my beginning in this world and is full of layers, even including a hidden route and unforgettable true ending.
I'm also including a demo because I can't stop playing this game about medieval intrigue and romance even if I lose a lot on the challenge level, Seven Kingdoms Princess Problem. It's in progress now.

haha The localizing lady seems so nice. I'm extremelly warry of localizers because ofthen they seem to have contempt for the game they adapt and you end up with weird changes. But with otome games I have never witness that sort of thing, the english translations are well done and they do their best to stay faithful to the original texts.

Oh and the app version did come out but apparently it was discontinued and taken down earlier this year? It was part of one of those compilation otome apps that house a lot of releases from my understanding

I've tried iPhone otomes, but couldn't get into them because of the Gatcha stuff, I never spend real money on stuff like that since it really slows down the pacing and that's too slow for me since it's Visual Novel (it be a different matter if it was a "Match 3" type of game).

May I ask a question about Nil Admirari? 🙏 I tried playing it some time ago, and the writing felt very... slow. It's literally like a book, but in a slow dragging way 😴. I actually wanted to play for the writer character with Suzumura Kenichi's voice (I love his character song a lot), so I was wondering if there is much content with and how long in the game he appears.
I've heard that complaint about Nil Ado or Olympia Soirée as well. I agree it does have some uneventful slice of life moments, but I personally never perceived it as dragging, just maybe a slow burn? But after the common route I think the pacing improves a lot
Shizuru appears quite often and helps the MC out a lot and in his route he's also almost always present
So maybe try skippin reading through the common route and just hop into his route and see how you feel about it then?
