Hi, I have been looking everywhere for the original and have zero problems playing JP games with translating apps. However, r18 are not all on the site I usually use. This is one they're missing, so can you PLEASE tell me where to buy this and if physical - is it region locked? I prefer digital download for PC R18 Jp games. It's one I refuse to play with the localization and cut scenes, same price most likely and I abhor censorship in my games. Won't buy Chou no Doku either localized, so was looking for it and where's Bloody Nightmare's rejet game unlocked/region free. If you have info on those two also? Thank you! I find it interesting we can have graphically violent games and violent games in general but sex (consensual or not) is immediately censored. What's more aggravating is if they are going to censor it so much why bother porting it to Switch and why does Switch even allow the port if it's such a big deal? Yet we have games on the Switch that are literally about having anime girls in bikinis? I love how portable the Switch i and people who port games but at times they really do baffle me with their uneven choices. That said, I am absolutely interested in the non-censored version XD
This is a company decision so that more people can play their product. You can't compare with things like senran kagura because they don't have explicit content, and you can't compare with foreign made games that have sexual content because they aren't bound to jp laws of decency. It's just two different versions of the product and the all ages version was made all the way back when it was psp and the localizers who happen to be the porting company are sfw so this is what you get
I feel like the way they went about the censorship of this game was...not great, because it's made the game CONFUSING in quite a few places. I also...don't mind the...chocolate eating scenes 🤣 I'm a thirsty otoge fan so that's to be expected, I suppose, but I wish companies would realize that there is, in fact, an audience for R18 otoge in the west.

Very excited! A censored version sounds interesting to play since the game seems to have a heavy non-consenual theme. It would have been lovely if they could have had a mode set to have a short summery of what happens in the bedroom to make the story flow smoothly.

Great video Lin! It's interesting to see how you mentioned this might be more for the male gaze when it comes to the R18 parts (MC being the main moans, more NC scenes, etc). For these reasons I'm still a bit hesitant on other similar generes like Diabolik Lovers. If I had a PC, I would love to give the R18 version a try, but I might have to stick with the switch for convenience. After all, I do have Dramatical Murder on vita, so I don't really mind censored games 😂
Not to say that Diabolik Lovers is a 100% prefect series, but without a voiced MC I think it lends itself better for a female audience, we are not focused on her as much as the LI. I mean clearly Diabolik Lovers sold really well in Japan, getting to the point that there are 13 LIS and 7 games, and 2 anime adapations, overall the female audience really liked this series in Japan. (Although, I have not played the games, so I can't give a full say on how I personally feel the story is, just saying overall it did well with a female audience in Japan).

I wasn't interested in this game until I heard of the english localisation, and was a bit worried on how the h scenes would be censored bc I had no idea how they were presented in the original release and if it affects how the story develops. There are plenty of galges that have had all-ages releases which cut the adult content without losing too much on the story, but for this game with its...frisky setting, the removal of all sexual content worries me, since it seems the story suffers more without the h scenes 😅 This game and Chou no Doku aside, there are a few r18 otomes that have received console/censored ports. Orfleurs received a vita port, but I have never played that game so I have no idea what the plot or h scenes are like. One of the more ridiculous ports i've seen is Trick or Alice's mobile port. I've played the r18 pc version and while the story is pretty mediocre, it has some really pretty art as well as a surprisingly all-star voice cast for an r18 otome game (seriously, look it up, i think this is the only r18 game ryohei kimura voiced an LI in). And naturally most of the CGs were for the 'chocolate eating' scenes. The mobile port not only censors all the h scenes, it also removed ALL the voice acting. AND you have to pay per route! Who would buy that??? All that said, I am still interested in the game, and I'm still very happy that more otome games are getting localised especially since I never thought this game would hit the West in any shape or form. I’m really undecided about this game. I’m pretty sure I would not enjoy the uncensored version from what you described but getting no clue if or what happened in the cut scenes might be very irritating and/or confusing. I might still give it a shot tho. Thank you for your -once again- great review.

I'm slighly interested in the switch version. I like steamy otome's, but not the non-consensual stuff. So in this case I don't mind the censorship. Because they censored it, I am willing to give this one a chance.
I just download it last night, out of pure curiosity, but I'm not far...maybe like 10 minutes, because I was scared--this game was THE one that got me into the otome scene and genre. I remember reading a LP in like a somethingawful forum back in 2012! I never thought I'd see this game localized. It's honesty baffling, I am terrified to play it and see it's cut in half. I needed info, i had to know how they cut it, and so far you're the only one I've found, so thank you for the heads up.

I have mixed feelings about the Censorship. some people just don't like super steamy games which I can understand especially if its coming from japan and being localized (Japan tends to censor quite a few of there games because its just "too much" for foreign audiences) I think taking out some more nonconsensual seem or making them less..."evil?" would be fine but taking out all of them I think would be a bit too much because of story elements. I'm super curious about this game now and want to play it lol.
Its also about the branding. There are many companies that have their sfw and nsfw works split into two different branding. Hunex/dramantic create prides itself as a sfw brand so when they port games the games need to comply, be it rewritten or removed. Hell, even seiyuu have to use pseudonyms when they voice H content. It's really just segmentization.
I laughed on the "lay back and think of England"- parody in the non consensual chocolate scene with Suren when I played it on the Switch Version xD Daum, I learned today most otome games get censored on Switch something I absolutely hate, I love steamy scenes be it good or bad

Thanks. I don’t think I’ll be playing the game but it is interesting to talk about how censorship affects a game. I don’t like it when they just cut out content that helps explain the characters relationship evolving. I rather they just don’t show the explicit scenes and add something else instead that still fits. But it depends a lot on the game as some games can have emotional H scenes and some are just there for fanservice and don’t add to the characters or story at all. I mostly play the Switch version of games but some games people really advice to play on PC to get the full story.
That's such a good point! I think I also would prefer to play "the original" even if it's R18 and I'm not super comfortable with it to get the real experience and as the developers probably had an intention why they chose to make the game R18

I personally don't really mind the censorship, since it may allows more people to play it, but I'll maybe buy the PC ver after playing the switch ver in order to have a full view of the game and more than certainly the FD ! + I'm glad bcs I don't have much time to play, and JP games are quite difficult since my JP level isn't so great, it takes quite a while, and I ended up with 70 otome games in my backlog 👀 But I can manage eng games quickly, and then, can't wait for the port! 🎉

I'm interested in the switch version, mainly cause it's both portable and physical. I'm not bothered by censorship unless it cuts out morally questionable content, which appears to be true in this case. Hopefully HuneX/dramatic create (the company behind the switch port) can get more VNs ported and localised.

I like Switch versions = portability. And since we all know Nintendo is a family-friendly company, therefore we will never have 18+ ''steam scenes'' on it. I don't mind not knowing anything about ''what has happened'', all that is matters is that the game is good and fun.

I was so bummed out when i heard it got censored! This was one of the otomes that i always really wanted to play and 99% because of the NSFW elemtents. Heck i'll even be honest and say it was 100% the reason. Do they think these games won't sell? :( Yaoi games are selling so well on Steam and most who buy them are women.

Only the Japanese PC version is explicit, none of the English versions though (neither on PC nor Switch, no matter which edition) But I think it might be for the better 😅 it's really rough
FYI no explicit CGs of those caliber is allowed on console devices due to japanese law, so the devs worked with a porting company to specifically make an all ages version. It's not censorship bc it was by choice, the devs just want more reach for their product. The story hasn't been compromised much without the r18 CGs, tbh.

@@Choc_cupid999 that means that the version on pc is not the r18 version: its the same sfw version that is on switch. Yes it's because of the licensing. The version that was licensed by Hunex is only for the sfw version. The r18 publisher is pretty dead in the water.

I mostly agree with you! I also hated Suren for what he did in the beginning, but later he was kinda sweet Nohl's abuse was the worst 🤢 I liked Tooya though throughout! I totally see what you mean with Nalan! I think he still felt bad, but the good ending was so lacking respect towards Suren, really distasteful Est had the only truly decent route imo! And the other characters didn't really leave an impression on me..

Jp segments their sfw and nsfw work quite strictly even though some things toe the line, things have to go through rating boards for that. There's also branding involved: Hunex and dramatic create are specfically sfw and marketing r18 will go against their brand image.

It's not censored, its rewritten specifically to appeal to a larger crowd for the console, this was already done from the japanese version. This is console rating board rules.

Very excited! A censored version sounds interesting to play since the game seems to have a heavy non-consenual theme. It would have been lovely if they could have had a mode set to have a short summery of what happens in the bedroom to make the story flow smoothly.

Great video Lin! It's interesting to see how you mentioned this might be more for the male gaze when it comes to the R18 parts (MC being the main moans, more NC scenes, etc). For these reasons I'm still a bit hesitant on other similar generes like Diabolik Lovers. If I had a PC, I would love to give the R18 version a try, but I might have to stick with the switch for convenience. After all, I do have Dramatical Murder on vita, so I don't really mind censored games 😂
Not to say that Diabolik Lovers is a 100% prefect series, but without a voiced MC I think it lends itself better for a female audience, we are not focused on her as much as the LI. I mean clearly Diabolik Lovers sold really well in Japan, getting to the point that there are 13 LIS and 7 games, and 2 anime adapations, overall the female audience really liked this series in Japan. (Although, I have not played the games, so I can't give a full say on how I personally feel the story is, just saying overall it did well with a female audience in Japan).

I was very surprised to see male gaze in a game targeted for women, but as the game was relatively successful apparently enough women enjoyed it
I've only played one route in DL and would say it wasn't the male gaze that bothered be, but all the non con scenes, like even torture...doesn't get me into a romantic mood 😂
Well curiosity got the better out of me so I bought the PC version as well, but unless you like male oriented p*rn I don't think the PC version is worth it for you and there might be better R18 games to try out, like Chou no Doku

I wasn't interested in this game until I heard of the english localisation, and was a bit worried on how the h scenes would be censored bc I had no idea how they were presented in the original release and if it affects how the story develops. There are plenty of galges that have had all-ages releases which cut the adult content without losing too much on the story, but for this game with its...frisky setting, the removal of all sexual content worries me, since it seems the story suffers more without the h scenes 😅
This game and Chou no Doku aside, there are a few r18 otomes that have received console/censored ports. Orfleurs received a vita port, but I have never played that game so I have no idea what the plot or h scenes are like. One of the more ridiculous ports i've seen is Trick or Alice's mobile port. I've played the r18 pc version and while the story is pretty mediocre, it has some really pretty art as well as a surprisingly all-star voice cast for an r18 otome game (seriously, look it up, i think this is the only r18 game ryohei kimura voiced an LI in). And naturally most of the CGs were for the 'chocolate eating' scenes. The mobile port not only censors all the h scenes, it also removed ALL the voice acting. AND you have to pay per route! Who would buy that???
All that said, I am still interested in the game, and I'm still very happy that more otome games are getting localised especially since I never thought this game would hit the West in any shape or form. This video was really helpful in comparing the two versions. Thanks for the vid :D
I’m really undecided about this game. I’m pretty sure I would not enjoy the uncensored version from what you described but getting no clue if or what happened in the cut scenes might be very irritating and/or confusing. I might still give it a shot tho. Thank you for your -once again- great review.

I'm slighly interested in the switch version. I like steamy otome's, but not the non-consensual stuff. So in this case I don't mind the censorship. Because they censored it, I am willing to give this one a chance.
I just download it last night, out of pure curiosity, but I'm not far...maybe like 10 minutes, because I was scared--this game was THE one that got me into the otome scene and genre. I remember reading a LP in like a somethingawful forum back in 2012! I never thought I'd see this game localized. It's honesty baffling, I am terrified to play it and see it's cut in half. I needed info, i had to know how they cut it, and so far you're the only one I've found, so thank you for the heads up.

I have mixed feelings about the Censorship. some people just don't like super steamy games which I can understand especially if its coming from japan and being localized (Japan tends to censor quite a few of there games because its just "too much" for foreign audiences) I think taking out some more nonconsensual seem or making them less..."evil?" would be fine but taking out all of them I think would be a bit too much because of story elements. I'm super curious about this game now and want to play it lol.
Its also about the branding. There are many companies that have their sfw and nsfw works split into two different branding. Hunex/dramantic create prides itself as a sfw brand so when they port games the games need to comply, be it rewritten or removed. Hell, even seiyuu have to use pseudonyms when they voice H content. It's really just segmentization.
I laughed on the "lay back and think of England"- parody in the non consensual chocolate scene with Suren when I played it on the Switch Version xD

Thanks. I don’t think I’ll be playing the game but it is interesting to talk about how censorship affects a game. I don’t like it when they just cut out content that helps explain the characters relationship evolving. I rather they just don’t show the explicit scenes and add something else instead that still fits. But it depends a lot on the game as some games can have emotional H scenes and some are just there for fanservice and don’t add to the characters or story at all. I mostly play the Switch version of games but some games people really advice to play on PC to get the full story.

I personally don't really mind the censorship, since it may allows more people to play it, but I'll maybe buy the PC ver after playing the switch ver in order to have a full view of the game and more than certainly the FD ! + I'm glad bcs I don't have much time to play, and JP games are quite difficult since my JP level isn't so great, it takes quite a while, and I ended up with 70 otome games in my backlog 👀 But I can manage eng games quickly, and then, can't wait for the port! 🎉

I'm not bothered by censorship unless it cuts out morally questionable content, which appears to be true in this case. Hopefully HuneX/dramatic create (the company behind the switch port) can get more VNs ported and localised.

The console versions (no matter the language), only Japanese on PC is R18 (but it's definietly not for everyone)

Only the Japanese PC version is explicit, none of the English versions though (neither on PC nor Switch, no matter which edition)

FYI no explicit CGs of those caliber is allowed on console devices due to japanese law, so the devs worked with a porting company to specifically make an all ages version. It's not censorship bc it was by choice, the devs just want more reach for their product. The story hasn't been compromised much without the r18 CGs, tbh.

Yes it's because of the licensing. The version that was licensed by Hunex is only for the sfw version. The r18 publisher is pretty dead in the water.

It's not censored, its rewritten specifically to appeal to a larger crowd for the console, this was already done from the japanese version. This is console rating board rules.
