It's a shame Mineko's Night Market has this many issues cause I've really enjoyed playing it. There's something so soothing about it, like petting a cat. I hope the team can fix it as soon as possible because it deserves to be played.
On another note: it makes me SO happy that you've been playing Eastward. I'll never get over how incredible the game is.

I'm obsessed with Fae Farm right now. I'm trying to slow myself down on the main story quests. I love that you can pretty much choose how you wanna play. Don't wanna mess with your animals right now? No problem. You can spend days just fishing if you want. I first watched Once Upon a Time when I got sick and had to wait hours in the ER waiting room. I started watching it, then, like most things, got distracted by something else. I think I'm on Season 4. I really need to get back to it.

for me, the characters/relationship building in farming sims is the main draw. Stardew valley is maybe an exception, but even then, the characters are always so wonderful every time, i find myself learning new things every playthrough. It's really too bad about fey farm, it looks so cute otherwise :( THAT SAID-- winds of anthos is the first HM title i've been interested since natsume stole the title, and i'm almost impressed enough by that fact alone to give it a try lol

I'm not sure if you ever played "A Street Cat's Tale" but I highly recommend it! For cat lovers, it will be a painful but also at times satisfying experience to discover all the endings for the poor little street kitten who is trying to reunite with his mom. ❤ I played it last year and can't yet bring myself to pick it up after my cat (who looks like the little kitten in the game) passed. Fortunately I was able to unlock all the endings though. It's a short indie game, not the best story telling, BUT it was pull on your heartstrings seeing each ending.

Just started playing Eastward after seeing it on your last video about the 4 day preview. I pretty much played it all weekend, it's so fun and frustrating at the same time. Stray Gods is *so* good. I'm getting ready to do a second playthrough pretty soon. It's honestly on the same level as Beacon Pines for me, and that's high praise. As someone who has taken music theory and dabbled in writing songs, the sheer amount of skill required to create music that can swap genres multiple times in the same song without sounding incredibly disjointed is mindblowing. And yes, I cried a few times, too. A new favorite, to be sure.

The only thing that could make me love Fae Farm even more is if the days were longer. 18 min is too short, way too short. There needs to be a slider of some sort, like Coral Island or Wylde Flowers where you can change the length of the days. I want to totally immerse myself in the environments and soak in the beautiful graphics, but instead I run around like crazy trying to get everything done. That is literally my only complaint about the game, that each day goes by in the blink of an eye when I really want to savor my time in game. Unfortunately, Fae Farm is the only game in this video that has an art style I love, I'm sure I miss out on some great games because I don't like the art, like Mineko's Night Market, or I simply can't see it well enough, like all pixel art games. But that's not a problem when there are games like Dreamlight Falley, Palia, Fae Farm, and the upcoming Loftia and Puff Pals Island Skies to make me happy.

Might try Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood though gonna look into trigger warning as it seems to be on the heavier side. Being able to customize the cards though seems like a cool unique thing though.
One game you should definitely check out is Arcadia Fallen. It’s a visual novel where you play as an alchemist apprentice (which you can customize) as you investigate the mysterious occurrences happening around town. Your choices determine your personality as well as the outcome of the companions you meet along the way with four of the five being able to be romanced or not. Also has some light puzzle elements though they’re not to prominent. My biggest gripe with it is they do not do the best job of explaining the alchemy and it’s very difficult to tell if an ingredient is volatile or not. Luckily alchemy is only required in some areas so it’s not too big of a deal for me. Aside from that though I’ve loved it so far and definitely think it deserves more attention and love and would love for more people to talk about it

Sea of Stars and Silent Hope have taken over my entire life.
I wanted so badly to love Faefarm. I don’t hate it and I enjoy it but I think I let my hopes get too high which I rarely do, but I’m sure that’s what it is. I think I just had a totally different idea in my head of what it was and it just didn’t quite click.
Master Detective Archives Rain Code has been really fun too. It’s funny and doesn’t take itself to seriously but you can’t be too sensitive (or young) to play it.
I’m so glad you love Sea of Stars. I honestly think I had a relapse into depression because of how sad and empty I felt after I finished Octopath Traveller 2. That game is amazing, and Sea of Stars has filled that void completely. I can’t wait to see what they do next.

As much as I want to love mineko's night market, it's a little unplayable right now. The game loading times are too long. It stutters and lags to the point that I want to just close the game and wait for an update. Even the loading screen animation freezes. It happens too often for it to be enjoyable. Along with the characters that are kind of bland, they attempt to break the 4th wall too much. I don't need them to tell me I'm playing a game every other dialogue bubble. I really wish devs would take their time to release a polished game and not release undercooked potential games. The cats and aesthetic can only take a game so far.
The arrow pads aren't functional on the switch, only the joystick works for selections. The music stutters frequently throughout this game. This really needs a patch, but I dont see that coming anytime soon.

I didn‘t even hit any of the hard glitches, but after a 1:30 load screen (that cut into my play time btw) the German version just straight up had all letters that don‘t exist in English (ü, ö, ä, ß) completely missing, just leaving gaps in the middle of words. If you can‘t even support all the letters you need for the languages you‘re localising into, and also obviously nobody bother to check the localisation, what are you even doing as a games studio

could you make a video about wholesome out and about? It's an upcoming cozy and educational game, so you won't feel guilty when playing it 😁. In this game you learn plant identification for foraging as well does it provide cooking and crafting recipes for real life. Also it broadens your farming knowledge like not so many other farming games does for instance it teaches companion planting (which plants should be planted next to each other for them to grow better). Moreover, if you like romance it will be included as well. Currently they are running their kickstarter campaign!
Ps: I know I requested this some days before, but maybe my comment got lost by all the comments you receive.

Love hearing your feedback on the games you are playing! Your videos are always so informative! I am loving Harvest Moon! Natsume has definitely taken a step in the right direction. The stamina depletion is not an issue once you open fast traveling and mounts. Plus you can increase your stamina with wisp fruit. I don't think $50 is overpriced as pretty much every HM game has been that price on consoles. So glad I decided to wait on buying Mineko's Market. I am enjoying Fae Farm, but I just feel it is so slow moving and the romance options are boring. I still feel it is way over priced! Sea of Stars is AMAZING! The story, characters, and battle mechanics are so well done. I am glad that it was free for PS Plus Premium members, but it's so good I felt guilty for not actually buying it. I am just starting Eastward as I am excited about the upcoming DLC. I am enjoying so far!

I started Eastward because of the upcoming DLC just like you said. Before I felt the game was too sad for me but the DLC changes everything. So far I'm really enjoying it, it has a lot of dialogue but it's really worth playing, the design, the color scheme is just beatiful, the story is really surprising and it's not too difficult, perfect for a cozy evening.

I never finished a game in the switch until I came across sea of stars. The plot twist, the fact that the puzzles are not brain wrecking, THE STORY, the minigames, there isn't a single thing I don't like. I never cried playing the switch, even when playing Omori but sea of stars was a first for me. Thank you so much for introducing it to me!

Depends on the game. If the fighting requires a lot of thinking or the story is a large part of the game then it doesn't work to multitask. Games like Dreamlight take so little thought I can listen to other things. I can watch shows that I am rewatching since I only need to look up every so often.

I was the same. I really really wanted to love Eastward. It had a lot of stuff that really should have appealed to me in theory, but for some reason I just couldn't connect with it. I have no idea what it was. I think it was how long it was taking me to get to the surface. Every time I thought I was out I was somehow back underground, and I wasn't sure if it was because I was making some sort of mistake or not. I was going into different areas each time and facing different bosses, so I didn't think so, but it just felt so redundant.

    • @lilmisspotterhead
      @lilmisspotterhead 11 месяцев назад +1

@@dragontears yeah, I felt the same about it being redundant, and the dialogue did not interest me at all. I'm fine with reading a lot of dialogue, but the dialogue in Eastward just did not grab me for some reason.

Regarding your comment on Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life, that game is actually an older Harvest Moon game with updated graphics. From what i understand it kept the old mechanics from the original the same, which is partly why gameplay can be so frustrating.

Harvest Moon just never was the same again after the gamecube and the first Nintendo DS release in my opinion. From what I'm seeing from the new one, it shares vibes with the never Pokemon games, which I didnt follow any longer, but saw at my friends' and its just like it seems to be appealing with this massive open world but the open world lacks detail and soul. Like, Skyrim has done an amazing job showing what open world can be like more than 10 years ago, but with some newer games from old series, like harvest moon and pokemon, it feels like they dont even want to spend the time and effort to make it great. (The open world aspect) They just have it to say its there.

I loved their games, particularly Eternal Home Floristy and how they interweave unique game mechanics with plot, and queer themes. Just not sure if my heart can hold up to another of their games. As someone who loved Sea of Stars and would recommend it to anyone who even slightly enjoys JRPGs, I am bewildered by your choice to laud the writing, and particularly the character development. The writing was the only thing I didn't like about Sea of Stars. I thought it was basically as bare bones as a narrative could be and still be called competent. None of the characters change from the start of the game to the end, and Zale and Valere have no distinguished personalities at all. The ending is also particularly weak, in ways I obviously can't go into.
So while I agree that everyone should play Sea of Stars and it's a very cozy experience that you can make more or less as easy as you want to, I'd personally discourage people from seeking it out if they're looking for a particularly enticing story. A Space for the Unbound is what scratched that itch for me lately.

Also, the Sea of Stars mechanic where you hit a button when hitting an enemy or vice versa is inspired by the Mario RPGs, so if you liked it definitely play the Super Mario RPG remake when it comes out in November!

Not a fan of Eastward, though I really wanted to give it a chance because the art style is so gorgeous. But it is at times painfully dull and slow to get through, and the combat simply isn't fun. It's clearly heavily inspired by the Mother series and Ghibli films, but because the writing lacks any humour it feel pretentious and tryhard. Once I got to Chapter 6, I just couldn't take it anymore and stopped playing. It doesn't help that the game would occasionally crash for me on Switch, though the frequent autosaving made any loss of progress minimal.
