    I use both a 3800 and a 4800 to haul camera gear on a kayak. I periodically test these by submerging them for at least 30 minutes to make sure they remain water tight and have never had a problem. It takes about 40 pounds to hold the 3800 under water and 70 pounds to keep the 4800 down.

    My 2800 is basically a "Man Purse" for hauling pipes,tobacco tins,and the occasional Reefer.

    Great video! Although haters from the last video are wrong as fluid pressure affects an object equal on all directions. So the case will experience the exact same pressure on all sides regardless of its orientation 👍🏻

    Good on you for following up. I'd be interested to see how it does a few meters under water.

    • @TheFixFinder
      @TheFixFinder  Год назад +5

      Thanks! I’m assuming the deeper it would go, the more pressure it would give the seals to stay closed and keep it dry inside until the water pressure is too much and breaks the plastic, would be neat to torture test it though!

    On sale for $35 thru June 30 for Inside Track members. Good idea with the submersion here. Putting bricks on top can alter the results positively or negatively.

    Not an extreme "case" if you regularly go boating with your entire firearm collection... 😉 😆

    Hi,love the video. with the apache 5800 if you take it on a plane and don't adjust the valve while in the air will my camera gear get damaged? does pressure build up inside? or would I have to get up once in a while and adjust it?

    Does anyone know if the pelican latches or handle would fit the Apache line? I like the customization of pelican but the price of the Apache

    Impressive results. I'd be curious to see how it does with some minor agitation. My potential use case has me indirectly dropping and submerging these into water. I'm not sure I'm trusting these more than my Nanuk just yet, but still cool to see.

    I love all the videos trying to shit on Apache cases. They’re all like “didn’t survive a small localised nuclear blast, what a trash case.”

    Pleasantly surprised having viewed other tests like this. Most were failures. I thought at first, here's another guy getting some clicks. In ALL manufacturing there are individual product examples that are marginal to down right failures. If a man Builds it, sooner or later its gonna break. For the perfectionist... I guess buy one and test it yourself before use. It is another option to consider.
    Edit: This is the first I've viewed your channel. I know Harbor Freights Apache line. I didn't pick up on which model, assuming its the 2800.

    The Apache cases are cheap Pelican knock offs. They're better than nothing, but they're not top quality cases.
    I'm not 100% on this, but I doubt the Apache' TSA approved.
    The Pelican though does require the O-Ring to be inspected and properly installed if it begins to degrade.
    I own several Pelicans and a couple are over 20 years old.
    I've seen videos where the Apache' s failed immediately on immersion, so I'm glad you got one that is working the way it should.

    • @TheFixFinder
      @TheFixFinder  4 месяца назад

      Your right, It does not have a pressure valve like pelicans
      It’s a nice basic hard case, but for flights etc hauling expensive equipment, you get what you pay for with pelican

    • @MrSkinnyn71
      @MrSkinnyn71 3 месяца назад

      Apache is tsa approved. It just has to be lockable and semi non pry-able. There’s a lot better cases out there. However the price point can’t be beat. I’ve flown with them and haven’t had an issue. If you’re worried about high dollar or family heirlooms then, this might not be the case.
