Yes they would. I have made bracelets with them. As a ring I would go smaller on the cuts so they don’t catch on everything. Thank you for watching and commenting. 😊
Love the feathers! You made it look so easy, I definitely want to try that. Thanks for the video! I can’t wait to see the dragonfly you are going to make. I’m having fun looking through all, your videos, I see this one was made 3 years ago!
The tumbling helps takeoff any little edges and at the same time it also cleans the piece. In my tumbler I use Dawn dish soap and 5 pounds of stainless steel shot. There are three different shapes of the shot. Often times called jewelers mix.
Thank you so much. 😊 Currently I’m away from my shop for a while. My wife is having chemo in NYC. But I can open my Etsy shop when I get home and I’m able to send you one. Or I can recommend someone for you.
@@FlatwareCreationSS I'm SOoooo sorry I didn't see your message I'm sorry about your wife my prayers are with Y'ALL GOD BLESS Y'ALL you make BEAUTIFUL STUFF..❤️😇
Steven Ellis I just cut the handles off and that is whatever length the blade is and then I draw a centerline and then take my bandsaw make two or three cuts. And then I make a couple a deep grooves with the diamond bit and then I do the rest are soft cuts with the time in bit.
Here’s a search that I did quick on eBay. 14+ TPI (teeth per inch) in Bi metal has worked for me. I did just get a new blade that has more teeth for metal. I just barely push and let the blade do the do the cutting. Also I test the handles with a magnet. I’ve had handles that were magnetic and completely dull my blade.
@@Txnkid76 I originally started with the ones that come in a two pack, a yellow, and a white one from Lowe’s. I would check reogrand.com for them also.
qwagmyre I got it off of eBay here is the item number that I could find for the kit that I got. 324023681532 And this is the hand piece that I use I like it a lot better. 302402262191 With the descriptions you can search for them and maybe find better prices.
I found it on Amazon. amzn.to/3mQgP1i The instructions come with it. I normally use a drop of it. Or I’ll paint it on and then dip and rinse in hot water.
Stunning work mate, I had to look up John 6:12 as well, very clever. It seems to fit nicely with your recycling ethos. What do you think about the idea of going through the exercise of turning the knife blade end into the feather look; and then trying to roll it up into a ring? Do you think it would be comfortable? Not too wide? I mean, in large part, it depends on the individual knife. Do you think the idea is sound though? I've seen it done with the handles of spoons, I just like the idea of trying it with a knofe blade feather and thought I would ask you.
Atom it’s called a thin nail drill on eBay. Here’s the current item number I can find. 324023681532 and I like this hand piece 352678859990 Thank you for watching. If you haven’t yet please subscribe 👍
Nevermind, I read more through your comments and saw that the question has already been answered. This is a very unique solution. I would have never thought to look for something like this. I have a dremel 4000 with a foot pedal and a stand/drill press that work great for me bit were probably 3X the cost of yours. I also have a HyperTough rotary tool as a backup that cost less than $30 and o have to say that these things give dremel a rin for their money at less than a quarter of the cost and they come with more accessories. If anybody is looking for a great affordable rotary tool definitely check out HyperTough. I believe it is sold by Walmart but I got mine online..
Thanks for sharing! May I ask, what medium do you use for your tumbler? I only have a vibratory type tumbler and haven’t tumbled anything except for some rough stones.
Why are you not holding it with clamp, pliers, something. You make me cringe thinking your fingers are going to be "carved" any second. But great idea and beautiful work
Thank you 😊 It looks close but I do have some distance between my fingers and the bit. The biggest thing I have to worry about is the heat. The harder you press to get the deeper groups the harder the piece gets. I’ve only ever slid off onto my finger once and it was just like a little burn not cutting or anything like that. Thank you for watching 😊
I was watching intently, but I have a lot of marks all over my feather. I’m using a Foredom solely since my Dremel disappeared ! I’m just learning how to use my Flex Shaft. What’s the best way to clean it up ? I’m not sure which to use from my bits and such that I received with my Flex Shaft. Thanks for any help from you wonderful creative souls. 💜Deborah 🆑
To clean up all of the scratches and everything to make it smooth. You could use a wire wheel to takeoff the edges. I’m not certain what came with your flex shaft you could also use a Dremel drum sander really lightly.
I came for this unique idea. I stayed for the puns! 😂 "pun, pun pun, pun, PUN." Lol good stuff
😂😂😂😂
Nice work station! Everything can be done sitting down! 👍🤠👍
@@Keith-rk4td yeah my back can’t take standing some days. Actually a lot of days lol. So I made everything close and at a workable height.

Awesome!!!
They were fun to make.
Would love to see what embellishments you add when finished.
I normally will add some turquoise beads with a charm that hangs down from the jump ring.
I have also made these for a long time but never thought of using the diamond wheel. Awesome work, thank you for a clear instruction video.
Jackie Wild Thank you for watching 😊
Jackie, how did you do the feather lines?😊
I used a diamond wheel on a Dremel tool.
Great video, thank you Jeremy and Seraphina!

Really like your artist take on basic things (knives n forks etc.). Can you tell me why you tumble, and what's in tumbler?

How can I get one of them with chain they are beautiful

Could you do the same with cutlery of stainless steel?
Yeah you can. I would use a hacksaw to cut the separations and a diamond wheel to score the lines.
O BTW the feather looks amazing. I wonder what else you do with them after being finished 😊
I’ve made bracelets, rings, barrettes. Your imagination is endless. 😊
that is real kool

What was it you put on the drill before drilling the knife?
It was beeswax. I use it as a lubricant for the drill bit.
I am loving the John 6:12

Can you please tell me what the solutions are and measurements. Thanks so much. Another great video.

I can’t find a blade for my bandsaw that cuts hard metal. I need a 62”.
Are you trying to cut stainless silverware? If you’re cutting silver plated you can use a Bi-metal cutting blade.

Best flatware idea i've seen yet. what type of "blade" are you using to make the separations in the feather? Great work.
I’m using a 1 inch diamond cutting wheel
Love these!
Where do you get your band saw blades and what TPI?
I get them from eBay this is the one that I’m using now.

What is in your water solution?
It’s 2 drops of liver of sulfur and hot water. You should also have a solution of baking soda to rinse also.
great job , was just wondering what are the solutions you have in the glasses I didn't quite catch it . thank you
