Great video Wade, I'm looking forward to trying 7 prc as my elr cartridge moving forward and I'm excited to see what your take on it is long term. Looking forward to hearing if it changes your mental ranges for how far you would feel comfortable taking different size game. Seems like this cartridge will do for the everyman what 6.5 creedmoor did in the sense that 6.5 open the door to ordinary people shooting to 1000 yards comfortably, while I think this cartridge will take semi proficient shooters and open that door up to a mile. I think mile shooting soon will be the benchmark that 1000 yard shooting is today as the 7mm gains adoption
Just purchased a very interesting rifle. A Begara B14 Hunter FSP 7mm PRC 22" #4 fluted threaded bbl. Tan speckled stock, black cerakote action and bbl, enlarged bolt knob. Can't wait to set it up and start testing and tuning.
After having my 6.5 prc for a while set up almost identical to this rifle I’m wondering if I’m missing out on the long action set ups the more I see what they can do honestly there’s nothing wrong with the 6.5 prc but I’d be curious to see a side by side comparison between the two just to understand if it’s worth switching or not 🤔
HS precision makes a box mag bottom metal kit. Very nice stuff. Seekins Precision has a picatinny rail that mounts where the sling studs go so you can run an Atlas or other brand bipod. I also got a triggertech trigger. 😁
Sweet deal. My two favorite solutions to Remington bottom metal is H&S precision metal and magazines. Or if I don't want to take out a 2nd mortgage to afford it. You can easily inlet your stock to fit magpulls proprietary bottom metal and shoot magpull magazines. Timney elite triggers make a nice Rem 700
Backfire is so biased it's hard to watch anymore. Who shoots 5 groups and tosses a rifle in the weeds? Couldn't have been his horrible shooting technique...
@@Michaeldpress14 Ah yes, the "dirt test" lol. One of the dumbest things I have seen somebody do before shooting a firearm. He's just a shill for Bergara and Hornady. I don't say that to put down either of those companies, just my opinion. He sells his recoil pads for Christensen rifles though.
His technique is just fine. He's proven he's quite capable of shooting good groups. Not sure how he's a shill for Bergara and Hornady, as he's had quite a bit of bad to say about Hornady, and he's pointed out bergaras flaws as well.
@@HazardousRobIn my opinion, shooting a lightweight rifle in a relatively stout chambering off a plastic table with a plastic bipod that he doesn't even load is questionable. The rifle is hopping around like the easter bunny. Do you dump dirt in a rifle before shooting it for groups? I'm guessing that you don't and agree that it's a stupid "test". I don't put any weight behind his methods or results. I've watched enough of his videos to see his bias, maybe shill is to strong though. How much time and effort did he put in to getting his Mossberg to shoot? Quite a bit if you have watched his videos. But the Christensen gets chucked in the weeds after a handful of groups. Confirmation bias is strong with him. I don't want to clutter this person's comment section any further, take care 🙏
Excellent. I’m planning a 7PRC next year and I am very curious what you can get out of a 20” barrel. Like you, I like to hunt suppressed and I don’t want a ten foot antenna sticking out of my pack. Thanks for the work and great info. Looking forward to the results.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Quick question I've never held one of these and can't find info could anyone verify what the receiver is tapped for? 6-48, 8-40 thank you

Good luck with Rem 700 action. It is the base and everyone makes a stock or chassis for it. Also, I only use Vortex match precision rings. No lapping, set and forget at their factory spec torque, no thread locker. What I am really interested in is, though I have good results with Hornady's factory PH 175 gr ELD-X, is Ally munitions going to make a competitor? I could be tempted, especially if you can document the original SAAMI and have 3,000 fps on the ELD-X style, which I hear that Federal is close to because they have the better powder.
I have a Seekins PH2 in 7mm PRC that I absolutely love. Very accurate with factory 175 ELDX, and shot an average of 2968fps which I was impressed with due to Hornady powdergate.
I would put the 3.85” Hawkins box mag set and and swap that barrel for a heavy 1.35” for 6” straight taper to 1.35” at the muzzle 33” long thats what i have on my RUM
@@steveroberts1280 I just tested 3 more LOT #s of ammo in my Tikka 7PRC yesterday - 2 from Federal and 1 from Hornady, all ELDX bullets. All half MOA for 3 shots

Many inlet for that barrel with a Tikka action. Pure Precision also has 7PRCs, normally in stock. And so does Proof Research. Just depends on how much you want to spend. Harris bipods aren't great but they work. AccuTac bipods are killer but cost a paycheck. Pls get a detachable box magazine for that thing. 1960 called. He wants his hinged floorplate back.
Rem Arms is definitely repairing the bad reputation that freedom group gave Remington. My new 700 absolutely smokes my $1200 areo solus barrled action in a $1400 MDT chassis. I cant tell if I'm mad I wasted money on Areo+MDT or happy my Remington shoots so well.
Probably lost about 100 to 150 fps when compared to the 26 inch. Its still a magnum but physics is physics. You can change powder and get faster burning powder but you are still going to loos speed from a 26 inch barrel. Its a trade off velocity for over all weight of the rifle and how it packs. Packing a full length Sendero get a tiresome. I run a 300 RUM in the sendero and it 26 inch. By the end of the day I always feel worn out.
Why would you cut 6" off the barrel? Is the rifle too heavy or long to hump through the bush? You are reducing long range accuracy which is what it's bulit for. Nice rifle. Call me old school but can't see screwing up a perfectly good barrel, and sticking a silencer on it just to make it look cool.
Sometimes me please build a 7 prc with I in 7 twist at 27 inch finish and see if it shoot as good as mine. If I see the video I will finish telling how the rest of mine come to gather with nothing normal about it
You can’t really call it a short 20” Barrel when you put a 10” - 12” long can on it. Kinda defeats the purpose of shortening the barrel. LoL!!! Now the gun is longer than it was from the factory and it’s more heavy, and you loose performance. I don’t get it. To each their own. Still a nice video. May have been better of getting a 7-08.
Thanks for watching guys, be sure and let us know what other manufacturers you want us to try out !
And, go get you a t shirt!😉
