    Thanks Stacy! I love the dehydrater part of your stove! It's amazing how people can live comfortably and happily in a small home after living in a big house. We gave up our large home and live in a semi. So when we finally live in our tiny home, it will feel like we're living in a mansion, lol!

      It's a great stove. My grandmother cooked on one starting in 1936. What's Stacy forgot to mention is that top part also is a warming station so that when you're cooking your food for dinner and not everything is done at the same time it can stay warm until it is. Love Stacy's Princess stove and I cooking on wood stoves.

    • @opybrook7766
      @opybrook7766 Год назад +2

      Technically it is a "warming oven". Meals can be put in it to keep very warm without over cooking. But it works great for other needs to. Yes, I have lived with a Pioneer Maid Cookstove. My family still cooks and heats with theirs.

    Makes me think of my mom when she grew up. No running water, outhouse outside, and did laundry by the river. They used lanterns for their light. I am impressed how you left a 3000 sq. ft. home and comfortably living in your cute cabin. Sometimes in life we think the more stuff we have is better, however, in reality, simple is the key. God bless!

    I love seeing Stacy. My grandmother (I'm 75) had a wood burning stove and for years they heated their entire 2 story farmhouse. My husband (84) and I are preparing to move to an area where we can live semi-off grid and grow our own food to live independent. God bless!

      Mary, you have the “key” to having success in going off grid and being happy while living such a healthy wonderful life! Having a spouse that you share everything with and love dearly, just as Doug and Stacy do, is a very special gift from God and seems to be the most important part! Having someone like minded and having the same dreams, same work ethics and love of God is what will persevere! Stay blessed🎚

      We moved just before all the C stuff came out, 1st to a 300 sq ft apt. until a cute little house came for sale ( our youngest and her husband bought it for us, we wanted to be close to our youngest grand, all the others are grown and now 1st great). We wanted the same, somewhere to raise chickens and garden. It has been a challenge we have a small lot. But use another lot sorta connected to garden on, we just got another lot directly next door. It has a shed also on it so planning a seed house. Got our first chickens this past year. It is a lot of work, but we love it! Blessings on your new adventure.

It’s sad to realize after 50 what you weren’t taught. 😢 Of course it’s never to late, but it is very hard to “teach” your children after they’ve left the nest. Once they are financially stable, they certainly don’t “need” your ideas/help anymore.

      @End Times Are upon us They had no electricity, they used wood stoves, oil lamps, they had an outhouse (down over the hill) but they used a piss pot for night time potty's. They had a hand pump to get water, I remember as a kid they put water in the galvanized tub and let it sit in the sun to warm up for baths, (of course this was during the summer) and go out side to brush our teeth out by the hand pump. They had a table of sort to use. They had a spring house to put their food to keep cool and a smoke house for the meat. My mom was even born at home on the farm in 1936. She just passed on 1/16. I was truly blessed to be able to take care of her during her last years and watching Doug and Stacy would bring up stories she would tell me.

    Hi Doug and stacy! I cannot tell you how much I am in love with your cabin it's absolutely perfect. I have so much respect for y'all and for how you just decided to do it and you did it. You're a great example for all of us and I learn more and more from y'all every single time I see a video. Thank you so much for the videos. I'm telling you right now 2023 is my year and I'm going to do this. I've been planning this for years it's time to do.

    I really like it! Super cute and easy to keep clean and what I think makes your place have more space is your awesome outdoor kitchen and the cellar with indoor shower and hangout space above the cellar. I bet between those 3 buildings you have lots of room to even host a party comfortably with your family and friends 🥳. I Love your homestead set up. 😉 👍

    Such an inspiration. I'm in the process of building a tiny off grid home for my mom. It's no easy task for a 51 year old woman with no experience. I've learned so much. It's definitely taking me longer than 90 days but I just keep plugging along!

    Thanks for the walkthrough! It is so inspiring to see the way you have lived all these years off grid and in a smaller square footage home. We hope to build a small cabin in the future on our land...maybe off grid too, we will see! You two have majorly influenced our homesteading journey and life so thank you for all you do, the knowledge you share, and your boldness to speak truth to people. 💜

    I love what you and Doug have built and done with your space. Thank you so much for coaching, teaching us about a simpler way of life. You two are so appreciated. I can hardly wait for my current home to sell so I can start implementing some of these ideas and becoming more self reliant. I know it’s going to be hard work but I’ve never been afraid of a challenge, lol. I am also excited to be able to grow my own food to become a healthier me! Thanks again.
