My oh my!! I’m looking forward to this!! I’m 2 yrs in and I get weary and tired. Not gonna lie… I sure miss the conveniences of the city but not enough to move back. For we women, it’s rough. I’m so looking forward to this, I need some encouragement.
Thanks Stacy! I love the dehydrater part of your stove! It's amazing how people can live comfortably and happily in a small home after living in a big house. We gave up our large home and live in a semi. So when we finally live in our tiny home, it will feel like we're living in a mansion, lol!
It's a great stove. My grandmother cooked on one starting in 1936. What's Stacy forgot to mention is that top part also is a warming station so that when you're cooking your food for dinner and not everything is done at the same time it can stay warm until it is. Love Stacy's Princess stove and I cooking on wood stoves.
Technically it is a "warming oven". Meals can be put in it to keep very warm without over cooking. But it works great for other needs to. Yes, I have lived with a Pioneer Maid Cookstove. My family still cooks and heats with theirs.
Makes me think of my mom when she grew up. No running water, outhouse outside, and did laundry by the river. They used lanterns for their light. I am impressed how you left a 3000 sq. ft. home and comfortably living in your cute cabin. Sometimes in life we think the more stuff we have is better, however, in reality, simple is the key. God bless!
I love seeing Stacy. My grandmother (I'm 75) had a wood burning stove and for years they heated their entire 2 story farmhouse. My husband (84) and I are preparing to move to an area where we can live semi-off grid and grow our own food to live independent. God bless!
Mary, you have the “key” to having success in going off grid and being happy while living such a healthy wonderful life! Having a spouse that you share everything with and love dearly, just as Doug and Stacy do, is a very special gift from God and seems to be the most important part! Having someone like minded and having the same dreams, same work ethics and love of God is what will persevere! Stay blessed🎚
We moved just before all the C stuff came out, 1st to a 300 sq ft apt. until a cute little house came for sale ( our youngest and her husband bought it for us, we wanted to be close to our youngest grand, all the others are grown and now 1st great). We wanted the same, somewhere to raise chickens and garden. It has been a challenge we have a small lot. But use another lot sorta connected to garden on, we just got another lot directly next door. It has a shed also on it so planning a seed house. Got our first chickens this past year. It is a lot of work, but we love it! Blessings on your new adventure.
Stacy, I really appreciate not only your teaching style and inspiration, but your beautiful silver and turquoise jewelry! I've been collecting mine for over 46 years. All of your pieces are stunning!!
Hi Doug and Stacy - love your cabin! My son has built 2 so far- one for himself and one for his grandpa (my Dad). Dad got to enjoy it for about 4 years and he went to be with the Lord. Keep on preaching it!! Love it.
I have watched you since the beginning. You have encouraged me to not be discouraged just because I am older, and have began gardening, raising chickens and planning for more self sufficient adventures.
What a beautiful home, and so smartly used and organized. I know you've been there for 14 years, but you both still should be so proud of what you've done.
Your home is beautiful Doug & Stacy: functional and debt free. You and Doug are truly an inspiration to us. I have been watching you all since you first started, how the time flies, and so much work you all have done. Be blessed both of you 👍👍
Cabin is amazing. My converted barn home is nearly complete. Going from 1600 sq ft to 900. The hardest thing will be parting with 40 years of accumulation.
I love your 600 sqft log cabin. We live rural and are building 800 sqft living quarters in our barn. Can’t talk the hubby into going off grid but we have short term plans in place just in case the grid goes down. You and Stacy are helping us with developing long term plans. Thank you!!!
Thank you Stacy for inviting us into your home. I love all the wood. It is my favorite. I love your home. Thank you and Doug for all the things that we have learned from both of you. God Bless you and Doug and all those you love.
600sf, of love. Cozy, cozy. I'm crazy about your stove, Stacey. I'm really liking how you guys are redoing old videos, and updating us on the homestead status.
Thank you for opening your home to all of us…we really appreciate it and we’re so inspired by what you’ve done, that we are doing it too in SE AZ! We also agree with you about the “grit” and much of that being lost. Living smaller and more sustainably is soooo much more fulfilling! Happy 2023 to you and your family!
They are my new idols. They remind me of my family's traditions from our past. Especially my grandma, who came from a pioneer family back in 1884. We are 5th generation on the land.
We love what you and Doug have done and taught us! We have 11 acres in northern Minnesota and are working on moving up there in the next few years. We built a 300sqft cabin. You are a inspiration to us.Rick&Val God bless you!
You really should go now..if at all possible!! Sooner the better. As time goes by things are getting worce and Worce. PRAY you get there soon. Be careful, be cautious, be mindful, be watchful, be prepared, above all PRAY.🙏📖🛐🕊️ show ❤️ like Jesus then if need be 🔫🏹 then victory 🙌🙌
You keep us inspired as we build our homestead in our 60's, Doug & Stacy!! Been watching you for years. I'm baking my own bread and fermenting bc of you.❤
You guys are a pure joy to watch and follow! Stacy , your home is lovely and truely a ‘home’ . We truely are better off just living in the rooms we actually uses instead of big houses sucking up our life and time! Doug, you are a hoot and an inspiration… my hubby and I love your wit and faithfulness!! My mom always instilled in me that you can’t outgive God, so I know He will bless you both abundantly!! God bless you both and may you continue to shine your light !!
That was a fun tour Stacy, you and Doug are an inspiration in many ways...not just your off grid lifestyle, but how you interact as a couple and team! This living takes a lot of teamwork effort and requires good ( unplugged ) communication, and you guys exemplify that well! My husband and I are best friends and we thrive when working together in the outdoors away from all the worlds hustle! We are downsizing quite a bit so that we can live within our means and not have debt, as you both have also encouraged in many of your videos. Thank you for being a tool in the Lords hands to point many in the right direction! God bless you both!
I wish someone in my life had shared the information your sharing, thinking how differently I would have lived and raised my children. It’s sad to realize after 50 what you weren’t taught. 😢 Of course it’s never to late, but it is very hard to “teach” your children after they’ve left the nest. Once they are financially stable, they certainly don’t “need” your ideas/help anymore.
I’m working on decluttering this year and working on changing the local ordinances around here so I can build something smaller then the current 700 sq ft minimum. Might need help since I’m a 57 year old single gal lol but one step at a time.
Thanks, Stacy! What a great example of how much can be done without a bunch of "stuff". You're so lovely and cheerful. I'm trying very hard to rid my life of all the junk I've accumulated over the years, both tangible and "mind clutter". ❣️
Everyone watching, if you care about others share this video especially with all that's going on!!! It's such an encouragement & you can feel the love & how they care about others. Stacy, I so enjoyed the tour of your beautiful cabin & your teachings during the tour! I like the shelf idea above your sink to keep an eye on your fermenting jars & mentioned how you put your sprouting jars there, that anyone could do. So smart! God bless you both! 💖
I love watching you and Doug do what you do! I'm hoping to build my little 16x16 home this Spring, it's going to be small, but have a loft for grand kids and storage, hoping to add greenhouse on the southeast part, also. Will be 100% off grid too, and thanks to Doug will have gravity fed water, I am so excited! Thank you both for being great teachers!
I’m taking care of my 86 year old mom full time and we watch your videos together. She grow up “off grid” before it was called that. She says she doesn’t want to go back to that. 😂. But I have learned a lot from her about the way they did things. The land, they called it the farm, is still in the family, so off grid is still an option some day.
@End Times Are upon us They had no electricity, they used wood stoves, oil lamps, they had an outhouse (down over the hill) but they used a piss pot for night time potty's. They had a hand pump to get water, I remember as a kid they put water in the galvanized tub and let it sit in the sun to warm up for baths, (of course this was during the summer) and go out side to brush our teeth out by the hand pump. They had a table of sort to use. They had a spring house to put their food to keep cool and a smoke house for the meat. My mom was even born at home on the farm in 1936. She just passed on 1/16. I was truly blessed to be able to take care of her during her last years and watching Doug and Stacy would bring up stories she would tell me.
Thank you for inviting us into your home and sharing your life with us to inspire us. My wife and I hope to have a wood cabin just like you in the future. My wife especially loves cedar. It is encouraging to hear that it only took 90 days to build such a practical and beautiful house. It really proves to me that with hard work and devotion it is possible to realize my goals. Thank you for all the information and experience that you share with us! You are helping us to realize our dreams of living off grid just like you!
Wow, hard to think it’s been 14 years! Y’all are such a great example of what can be achieved when you set your priorities and stick to them. I really admire you both! Shalom ~
Your cabin is so functional! It really doesn't matter the size of your home if it's not functional. I also love the outdoor kitchen, that would be so cool to have in the summer!
I downsized my place about 3 1/2 years ago. I agree that as long as possessions are downsized appropriately that a smaller place is easier to clean. Thank you for showing us the inside of your home Stacy.
How awesome! Did I hear that Doug was going to start making kits our plans for the type of cabin you all have? If so, please let us all know. We are seriously beginning to seek land where we may be able to do a smaller version of what you all have done. God bless you and thanks for the tour of your super cute cabin!
I cannot wait to watch Stacey. I love to watch you every day. You have motivated me to be extra prepared for emergency. Bought a Mr. Heater and it is a hot item in the NW,, Using Redmond salt, making my own chicken bone broth, bread and canning. Not waling flat footed. Planning my gardens this week for spring and summer planting,. Thank you both so much. Your video is more fun than watching any sit com or movie.
Wow!!! Thank you for the tour Stacy - what a great layout you’ve created there. We’ve downsized a lot when we began our Kentucky homestead. A far cry from our massive home back in CA! So much more money, time and mental freedom! 🙌🏼 HAVE A GREAT DAY!
I’m getting closer and closer to being self sustaining. I enjoy watching you both growing my knowledge of farm life. Y’all are awesome!! Beautiful blessings ❤
So inspirational! Hard part is getting my husband more on board for off grid, but we've had several cold weather emergencies and have a wood stove we leaned on so I think he's starting to come around to this at least as a back up.😁 Can't wait to meet you both at the Homesteading Conference!
Your cabin is awesome and it is amazing that you got it done in 90 days! We really enjoy all your videos and we share them with our family and friends!
I mean, have you gotten a hold of my dream journal?! LOL I *LOVE* what you've done here! What a fantastic job and only 90 days for the initial set up is so inspiring, Doug! Stacy, you're like the awesome teacher that I always prayed for. Thank you both so much. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing your lives and teaching us that this is doable. All my love and prayers for you and yours, always 💙
Thanks, Stacy, for sharing your beautiful home with us! You and Doug have been a big inspiration to me in the pursuit of my own homestead dream of a little cabin, rain water system, composting toilet, wood cookstove, etc. You guys are showing us it CAN be done! Just waiting for God's timing on a piece of property - and then the fun begins!!! P.S. I'm turning 70 in a couple months :)
A new house tour! I think that the first time I had seen you all was when your house was featured on "Living Big in a Tiny House." I've been watching ever since! You all are a blessing! We've been slowly moving toward a full-time homesteading life for about a decade. Chronic health issues and financial problems have slowed us WAY down, but we're so close! Keep the videos coming, because they're a great encouragement for folks like us! The Lord bless you and keep you.
Thank you for the tour Stacy. Your home looks so warm and inviting. Man, you guys are living the dream! God bless you both as well as your efforts and hard work💗
Hi Doug and stacy! I cannot tell you how much I am in love with your cabin it's absolutely perfect. I have so much respect for y'all and for how you just decided to do it and you did it. You're a great example for all of us and I learn more and more from y'all every single time I see a video. Thank you so much for the videos. I'm telling you right now 2023 is my year and I'm going to do this. I've been planning this for years it's time to do.
I really like it! Super cute and easy to keep clean and what I think makes your place have more space is your awesome outdoor kitchen and the cellar with indoor shower and hangout space above the cellar. I bet between those 3 buildings you have lots of room to even host a party comfortably with your family and friends 🥳. I Love your homestead set up. 😉 👍
It’s amazing what you learn to live without. The things most people think are needs are really wants. You guys have proven time and again that simplicity is the spice of life.
Such an inspiration. I'm in the process of building a tiny off grid home for my mom. It's no easy task for a 51 year old woman with no experience. I've learned so much. It's definitely taking me longer than 90 days but I just keep plugging along!
Thank you for the tour of your home ☺️ it’s so nice to see Stacy 🙂 I absolutely enjoy the craftsmanship of the things the Amish build. Praise the Lord for all his provisions, he is truly a wonderful Father. 🙏
Thanks for the walkthrough! It is so inspiring to see the way you have lived all these years off grid and in a smaller square footage home. We hope to build a small cabin in the future on our land...maybe off grid too, we will see! You two have majorly influenced our homesteading journey and life so thank you for all you do, the knowledge you share, and your boldness to speak truth to people. 💜
I love what you and Doug have built and done with your space. Thank you so much for coaching, teaching us about a simpler way of life. You two are so appreciated. I can hardly wait for my current home to sell so I can start implementing some of these ideas and becoming more self reliant. I know it’s going to be hard work but I’ve never been afraid of a challenge, lol. I am also excited to be able to grow my own food to become a healthier me! Thanks again.
Beautiful cabin, beautiful people 😊 we have a tiny home school bus and we are roughin it till we can build a cabin hopefully it will be beautiful like yours! I love the wood stove and that is one of the many things I am saving for to make life a little easier. Thanks for sharing your home!
Thank you Stacy for the home tour You and Doug did a phenomenal job building your home ! I have a soft place in my heart for Log homes Since a child I’ve always thought they are so beautiful
I am 76 and live in a tiny mother-in-law unit. I have an upstairs sleeping area too and have to walk up 15 steps numerous times per day. I think that - and dancing - keeps me fit.
I would love to have a small log cabin big enough for Billy and I and our two children. Simple life adds so much more joy and pleasure, the bonding between life and chores and our children. I can't wait for the future. One step at a time.
I’ve been watching you guys since almost the beginning and you have accomplished so much. The cabin is great and you’ve done an amazing job with the functionality of it all. And I love the wood cook stove.
My husband has built homes his entire life and now designs them, but he still has an extreme love of all kinds of woods so our home is filled with all kinds of shelves, cabinets, etc. that he built for us to make our space our own❤
I keep trying to get my husband on board the off grid life. He keeps seeing more benefits everything the world adds a new craziness level. I'll just keep on praying for my off grid homestead!
She’s back!!! It’s crazy how you can miss seeing someone you’ve never even met!
Mmm...mmm..mm! Mighty fine, mighty fine indeed!

Thanks Stacy for the tour of your home. You are so organized, and take advantage of every foot of space. Blessing to your both.
Doug and Stacey are proof positive you can move off grid , be happy and be successful with hard work and dedication. Thank you for sharing !
@End Times Are upon us We know, we know.
Grit is a great word to describe what you need for transitioning lifestyles! What a beautiful home y'all have made!
So inspirational! Hard part is getting my husband more on board for off grid, but we've had several cold weather emergencies and have a wood stove we leaned on so I think he's starting to come around to this at least as a back up.😁
Can't wait to meet you both at the Homesteading Conference!
Your cabin is awesome and it is amazing that you got it done in 90 days! We really enjoy all your videos and we share them with our family and friends!
Thanks for the tour, Stacy. You're home is beautiful.
That stove is AMAZING!!!
Thank you guys for taking the time to share your journey with us. You are such an inspiration!
Age is just a number. You can do it!
Love seeing how all the things you do is possible even with such a small space!
Your house is so beautiful and self sufficient Stacy ! I especially love the stove. ❤️
Loved the house tour. It's amazing how far you guys have come in the last 14 years.
Thank you for inviting us into your home! Such a lovely home!❤
Such a cozy little cabin. Love it. ❤️
Stacy is such a bundle of energy! Love this tour!
Yeah! Can't wait. Love the cabin design and the stories behind it
See you in a few
14 years! Wow, how time flies! You have a beautiful home, Stacy! We have learned so much from you and we have enjoyed watching your journey!
It’s amazing what you learn to live without. The things most people think are needs are really wants. You guys have proven time and again that simplicity is the spice of life.
Stacy and Doug, I loved the tour of your home! Thanks for your online hospitality and sharing it with us! 😊
It looks amazing! I can't imagine how much work you two have done in the past 14 years.
Such an inspiration. I'm in the process of building a tiny off grid home for my mom. It's no easy task for a 51 year old woman with no experience. I've learned so much. It's definitely taking me longer than 90 days but I just keep plugging along!
Thank you for sharing your home. It gives a true perspective of what you must do to live offgrid.
Thank you for the tour of your home ☺️ it’s so nice to see Stacy 🙂 I absolutely enjoy the craftsmanship of the things the Amish build.
Praise the Lord for all his provisions, he is truly a wonderful Father. 🙏
Thank you for sharing your home with us. It looks warm and cozy, and the wood is beautiful. 💜
We totally support Doug & Stacey! They are very encouraging to all who watch & follow their videos 😍🙏🙌☝️
They are liars
Thanks for the walkthrough! It is so inspiring to see the way you have lived all these years off grid and in a smaller square footage home. We hope to build a small cabin in the future on our land...maybe off grid too, we will see! You two have majorly influenced our homesteading journey and life so thank you for all you do, the knowledge you share, and your boldness to speak truth to people. 💜
It's great to see Stacy again, we've missed you! Thanks for the tour and keep be you... INSPIRATIONAL!!!
Grit!!!
I absolutely love your home and everything you’ve both accomplished since going off grid! Wow 🤩 so inspiring ❤
Beautiful cabin, beautiful people 😊 we have a tiny home school bus and we are roughin it till we can build a cabin hopefully it will be beautiful like yours! I love the wood stove and that is one of the many things I am saving for to make life a little easier. Thanks for sharing your home!

Thank you Stacy for the home tour
You and Doug did a phenomenal job building your home !
I have a soft place in my heart for Log homes Since a child I’ve always thought they are so beautiful
I’ve always wanted to live in a log cabin. You have such a darling home❤️. Thank you for the tour Stacy!
I am 76 and live in a tiny mother-in-law unit. I have an upstairs sleeping area too and have to walk up 15 steps numerous times per day. I think that - and dancing - keeps me fit.
Every time I see your home, I'm just awe struck. It is so awesome how homey and welcoming it is.
Thank you so much for being here for us, making and sharing your knowledgeable videos! Y'all are amazing!!!
I absolutely love the log cabin and the simplicity of it and how you live! It is just beautiful!
