    Excellent description with amazing detail. Just note that in English, we don't say "how it looks like" but "how it looks" or "what it looks like".

    The movement of the racket is so nicely captured to understand it uniquely. I always wonder that all overhead shots are same

    I have been doing this shot without knowing it is actually a type if shot..
    I just assume if i change the angle of the racket face, i could trick my opponent..

    At 6:51 timing where u show the difference.....is the position of the left hand important? For the straight shot it's almost near the face where as it's under the ribcage for the cross shot ? Is it bcos for the cross body starts to align towards the direction of shuttle ? Or may be the swing of the racket should have a clear path?

    Thank you for the great video. Is it correct to say that that for the forehand slice cross court drop shot, the contact point is the same as for clear ? And when approaching the shuttle the approach should be similar as for clear shot ? (when the shuttle is above you, but not like for smash where shuttle should be more in front)

    Does using more wrist power during step 2 allow you to do a fast but low drop shot and using less wrist power allow you to do a slow but high drop shot (lands closer to the net)?

    • @luvaznsandrice
      @luvaznsandrice 6 лет назад

      Angle relies more on placement of shot more then the speed of the snap. If you hit at a lower angle, it'll go lower. The speed only applies to speed of shot.

      basic drop video simply and gently touches the ball at the highest point,but this video adds slice?

    Wonderful videos, going into much greater detail than other tutorials >> many thanks, Kowi! A question for you: when you say "use 30-80% wrist power" for the straight slice, do you mean just limiting the amount of pronation? Furthermore, where on the racket face would you suggest contacting the shuttle for the straight slice? Lastly, is the straight sliced smash basically the same but with more speed/power?
    Are you still planning to upload Lesson #10 - Deceptive Drop Shot?

      Max Renn limit the amount of wrist strength used as the wrists are mostly used to make the curvature of the slice in your gripping angle. Using too muvh wrist can send it abit off course or make it fly alittle too steep/straight.

      Max Renn top left or right of the sweet spot works best for me

    • @TPToE
      @TPToE 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the replies! So am I right in thinking one just uses the wrist to set the angle of the racket face (rather than providing the primary force in the shot)? Where is the primary force coming from, if not the wrist?
      One other question: Anna Rice's videos advocate a grip change for slices, whereas I've always used the same grip and just adjusted via the wrist. Is one method better than another? My forehand crosscourt slice is a very reliable shot for me, but straight slices (and a straight slice smash) less so.

    • @nirolord3180
      @nirolord3180 7 лет назад

      Max Renn the primary force i belive is the rotation of the shoulder and slight very slight 'snapping' of the elbows through a slicing motion.
      As for your grips i reccomend you try between grips you are comfy with and find the optimal grip. Similar to some players use their wrists more than elbows or some relying more on the pushing motion or follow through motion on a swing to generate power
