Somehow I don't think that the engines pistons jammed when it was falling, it was more likely when it suddenly stopped. Half of the engine crankcase is melted away, indicating that there was a serious fire after impact.
I bet the propellor blades are impacted well into the ground. With all the severe compression of so many things - from the skin to even a sandwiched engine - it must have hit at high speed, which also very likely means high angle. (Someone here said it impacted flat, but if it was spinning flat it would've been at much lower speed. However, if you find largely intact, large pieces somewhat far - a few hundred meters or more - it woudl support that.) If the prop is under the surface, bring a metal detector. It won't be super deep; just a couple meters max. However you're gonna find nothing but metal all over the entire area there, laugh. Anyway thanks for the great video. Good luck!
they were included in the pilot's kit. the Germans probably thought that in case of an emergency landing, the pilot would be able to exchange them for food or information

@@WWII_METAL_DETECTING Very interesting video. Do you need permission from your government (Russian or other former Soviet/USSR) to dig these sites from the Second World War?
In most cases, the excavations are carried out by enthusiastic people, without any documents. If they find the dead, they contact search teams that have permits to search for WWII soldiers. But there are also search teams with search permits
@@WWII_METAL_DETECTING Do you have any EOD or ex-military people on your team that know how to handle the live ammo you sometimes find? Even after 80 years or so, the live stuff found in England, Germany, Russia, and other places in Europe from the Second World War can still be very dangerous today.

Why is that Cross so shiny after all these years. It does not look like gold. Silver would have tarnished and taken away all the luster of it. So what is it made of.
@jasonstevens7957 Maybe so, but does not aluminum. Also, get tarnished over the years. I just simply don't know what it could be. I would think the person that made the video would tell us what it is. But I guess you're not.

This is one of the best channels for ww2 history, thanks for all you do!
Thank you for sharing the find. From the looks of the site the BF-109 impacted the ground almost flat. A very interesting site. Be safe. 🤝
The RLM 76 and 02 still looking very fresh on some parts.

A weekend in the garage and it will be like new!
Believe it or not. With the License/Dataplate from that aircraft you could rebuilt a airworthy airframe and declare it as restoration.
Careful when you dig up the propellerblades; engine might still be running.
😂😂😂😂👍
I see a data plate was discovered, that will go a long way in identifying the actual aircraft, and possibly the pilot.
With the details, are you able to find the pilot's name?
What an amazing find! I love what you all do! Incredible...
Yes it would be good to find propeller blades, see if engine was running or not at impact.
The piece of ribbon looked like the meat medal ribbon.
FICARAM AS LEMBRÂNÇAS SÓ 👍👍🇧🇷
Good find. Thank you for sharing!
Let us know when you have restored it back in flying condition
It hit hard..
Excellent video! Thank you.
Great video thanks for sharing!

Incredible find. Any guess why would German pilot have Russian Orthodox crosses?
Incredible find, amazing work 👍
Wow fantastic
Merry Christmas World from Perth Western Australia 🙃🦘 God Bless those that Trust in 1 God Above All Humanity Equally 🙏
Why did a German pilot have Russian orthodox crosses, war trophies, or did a really unlucky Russian soldier have a crashing bf 109 land on him ?

Friends that was a big impact to destroy the engine so bad 😮
Another good video, i wonder what happened to the pilot did he bail or is he still there
The pilot was still alive

Watch out, the ammunition might still be used in an attack after 80 years in the forest😂.
❤👍👍
I wonder what the story is behind the crosses.
