It's time to replace some of the tools around the shop. What a better way than to do it yourself! Fun making this one. www.hoffmanblac... Music by Pipe Choir freemusicarchiv...
There was just something so satisfying about watching that scale fall off the first time you pressed that stock. Keep up the awesome vids man!. Keep Defining Your Legacy!
My favorite part was when you used the old hammer to help make its replacement. Like a punishment for the old one sucking, it's final act was to replace itself.
Ever since i saw you in round one on forged in fire, i have loved your work, its amazing to see your smithing skills, your blades, axes, hammers etc. are all amazing. Keep up the good work!!!
love your videos Liam, you should invest just a little bit more time in your channel because it's growing and is very inspiring...especially when you see young craftsmen doing awesome things. plus, a little more time might get you a little more bucks for reinvesting. thank you and all the best.
Aw come on Liam, the old sledge hammer is not useless, it would make a passable door stop LOL Nice big sledge hammer you made there, or as we used to call them "persuaders". I bet it looks really nice when the grinding and heat treating is done, will you hang a hickory handle on it? What about a tin neck protector for the handle? Just a thought, keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos. Cheers!
9 lbs of smash, looks good. One end is cupped...can you do a video where you show the specific use of the cupped end in practice? Or is that just a rough finish prior to grinding/shaping? Also, it looked like Andreas was swinging pretty straight, even with that rough start to the day lol!

I'm impressed how a block of medal can be formed under heat und pressure.
Thx for sharing your work and Pipe Choir, it sounds like The Cure.

We seem to have a chicken and egg problem. One needs a sledge hammer to forge a sledge hammer. LOL

Did you just gain 3 000 subscribers in a week lol? congratulations!
may I suggest an apocalypse axe made from the old one for a different video
nice job as usual. What brand is that beast of a press? Thanks for the videos
Here's my question. How long did it take you to cut through that block of metal with that saw?
Wow nice video! i have a question: how is the heat treatmeant of that?
Liam, tell Andreas "panuche palude." He'll know what you mean.
Can't wait till you hang it. What kind of wood are you going to use?
Liam, Kevin K here in Fayetteville AR. You made me an Axeroon. Question: Why did you ducktape your leg?
Fayetteville! I lived there for years! Still miss it
Nice hammer. Kinda surprised you didn't throw the old one in the furnace, and fix it up...just saying.
What's the difference between using a press and a power hammer?
Now I see why you won forged in fire
Are you going to cup the striking face, or are you leaving it as is?
this is awesome, what length was the starting billet?
Please make those hammers available to buy
This is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask it. Could you reforge the old sledgehammer?
Hoffman Blacksmithing Gotcha. Thanks so much for answering. The new one is sweet, especially with your maker's mark on it!
Hey, where do you find all your steel for smithing?
Hey Liam, didn't you win on Forged in Fire? Thanks
Its me or in 4:27 that glowing 500º C slegehammer fell down !!!!!
What's the reason the corners are 45'd?
I have a question how old where you when you made your first axe?
Your forearm's are huuuuuge 😵
Awesome
