Nice that you have a, umm, experienced group of riders that you still ride dirt with. I’m only 50 and find myself riding alone because it’s so many of my long time riding partners have stopped riding dirt
Ohh man I would love to ride there.. Its the complete opposite of landscape to where I am from. Its beautiful but looks like a different planet to me. Greetings from Thuringia
I think Those clicks you hear are either the camera whacking the helmet or the camera moving inside the waterproof case. I'll have to do some experiments. ...update...I switched to GoPros, for various reasons.
awesome, place to ride. Say hi to Ron for me, lol. I ride a Ducati Multistrada, hardly doing any off road, but you guys make me think about getting a KTM too...
I will. You know the problem with being the camera guy, I never get in the shots, so I make Ron famous, or infamous, as he puts it. The street is just too crazy for me to spend much time on them at my age. I do not have that much time left to heal. I raced Daytona in 2000, so its not a problem with going fast, just the crashing part. Now I just ride 25 mph and enjoy the scenery. On the road to the trail, 55 mph tops, with Deacon on board. Join us!
Tele Rover, my next adventure trip is going to be from North Georgia Smoky Mountains, to Moab Utah. In your opinion which is the best way to enter the park. I can't stop watching the videos, great job.
+paul moore Depends on what you are riding and what trails you want to ride and what the weather is like, but in all cases, Moab is the park. Slickrock is next to town on the east. The rest, head north, turn left and head up Potash Road, to get to Long Canyon or Shaefer Trail. Poison Spider trail head is along that route. Or a bit further north on the highway to Gemini Bridges trail to the left, as on this video. Its a good loop coming back on Shaefer Trail and Potash Road. On that trail are many more trailheads.
+paul moore a 990 might be too heavy. there's a couple real quick up and down and turns that might give you trouble. definitely try the practice loop before venturing further. slick rock is everywhere, besides the trail named that. there is a lot of traction on it.
Wow , your buddies wouldn’t have even know if you wiped out , when you lost the fender bag . Need to implement better situational awareness and keep a sharper look for each other .
What camera are you using and how are you editing your film? I have a GoPro Silver and shot a ride on Shafer Trail a little while back. It looks great on my computer but got all pixelated once uploaded to youtube.
RiverbyNight I use a Coleman Conquest CX7WP (aka TCL SVC200) set at 1080p 30FPS. Right now I only know how to use Windows Live Movie Maker. The GoPro editing software looks good for multiple cameras, but it won't accept files from another device. I'd like to learn a better method.
You drop just about everything you pick up, I seriously advise never going into an expensive China Shop, or you will leave broke, with nothing but broken bits and pieces of what could have been good eating and drinking utensils~!~ That's why you do not put the least experienced rider in the front. The man in the front should be the leader and it is his job to keep the tail in his rearview mirrors and the rear man the least experienced rider sets the pace for the group, and if one falls all stop to help them up. No exceptions. This keeps someone from having to ride like a crazy man to catch back up, where he is most likely to have a real hard crash trying to get caught back up. No one is left behind, your supposed to know this stuff being ex military. When anyone shoots in highspeed, how are we supposed to enjoy the view of the ride? It's stupid and a waste of time, do the video at the normal speed and make more parts to the trip if you want to have a full video and show it all without spending so much time uploading it but you will still have to upload it anyway, just in another part. So what are you gaining by high speed? I'm not going to watch an hour high speed video, that is just stupid for anyone to thing we would. You waste so much time and never get the shoots next to the edge of the panoramic view of that spectacular canyon like it ought to be shoot. A drone right here would have been a great treat for one and for all. You could buy one for two or three nights of comfort in a motel and just camp out instead. Just another day of easy trails I could have taken my wife's Balzer on or my 87' Honda 700 Magna. No need for dual sport or dirt bikes on this trail. I don't know about anyone else, but I would have had to fix that clicking sound in my helmet strap or whatever it is. I would not listen to that noise all day long. I've never seen so many guys afraid to get close to and edge that has been there for 100 years.

I need to get both bikes up there and do some riding.
Great ride and narration,
Thanx for sharing ;-)
Great video. I'm planning this same route in a couple of weeks.
