- Hey RUclips! I thought it was time to do a grand reveal of my latest design for the Lego A-2 style pinsetter project! This is one of the ball return designs that seems to work the best out of the others I've tested. It's a very simple kicker design inspired from Strike N Spare II's bowling ball kickers to help move the bowling balls into the ball wheel. Without further ado, I present the new ball return!

The carry at RocketDog lanes is something to behold.
It is something! The new smoother pindecks help a ton too :)
Insanely cool! I just love how it looks so simple, yet that's always the kind of designs that take time to come up with. Seems to be very reliable as well! Can't wait to see more, you are doing an amazing job!
Thanks Tcas! This did take quite a bit of trial and error, but I'm very happy with these results! I did pick up some arch pieces I'd like to try out. Hopefully it will smooth out the lift of the ball! :)
I love the design, it’s very creative and doesn’t have much issues😊
Thanks! I'm actually surprised as to how well this turned out. I had a lot of doubts till I tested it
Also u hit 1.7k subs 🎉 2k u should do behind lane 1 scenes Myb your choice
Thats actually dope that its fully functional. Love working on the a-2 cool someone made one with legos.
Nice 👍
amazing job! and wish I could have a automatic working mini pinsetter…
You should make mini duckpins for the bowling alley
Bro you gotta show off your whole design. I want to see your distributing system. Also still wondering how the table picks up pins lol. Love these mini bowling lane videos. Keep it up!
You should make mini duckpin bowling pins
Nicely done on the pit design.
Thanks! I'm very happy with it
Do you have a Mac book or a windows computer for score more pindominator? Because it would be the icing on the cake for your mini bowling alley! I just downloaded it on my pc windows computer for my mini bowling alley it it works great!
I always liked the A2 pinsetter models, I never really liked GS-X pinsetters.
Back then, things were made much better😁
Nice designs. Would you ever try to make it into an actual center?
Hmm idk. I do want to make a real scale version when I own my own home :)
@@PinDominator I will accept that vision.
Hey Pin Dominator , when will your shop be officially done? btw super cool lego bowling lane!!!!
There's a lot going on in my life right now, so the shop is on hold. I still sell pins on ebay from time to time
@@PinDominatorwell is there a link for me to go to the ebay website to purchase the 3D Pins?
I'm waiting for your shop as well.@@PinDominator
Wow, this is pretty friggin cool! How does it detect? I assume electronically somehow. Any kinda OOR function or just standing pins/strike. Pin action looks REALLY good too, are those your 3d printed pins btw? VERY cool! Def very impressive, I know if it were me this wouldn't exist LOL I can fix em but I can't design or build em haha. Nice job dude, very cool! :)
Thanks Rep! Right now, it detects manually, meaning I push a button for strikes or for standing pins. I'm planning on modifying the setting table, however, which is why I haven't been working on an automatic detector. Yep, these are 3-D printed pins from years ago, as well as a 3-D printed pin-wheel/guide. I also have 3-D printed turret designs in testing now, but I'm probably not going to use that design since it is used in many other projects. I would like to try something new and potentially simpler. :)
@@PinDominator Very cool dude. Manual detection works too! I imagine you're far from done yet, so you can work all that into it later if ya want to. The pins I love, look and act great. Pretty cool so much can be done with the 3d printing. Thanks for the vid and sharing your machine, look forward to seeing more in the future! :)
How will u handle obsolence mgmt with the phasing out/cessation of EV3?@@PinDominator
Currently I have a semi-auto mini bowling alley working only on gravity to return the ball. It has been a long term dream to coin a setup just like yours.
Not sure if LEGO now is still viable - perhaps for the pieces (where/how did u find the right part?)...but the controller?
What controller could I use to build my pinsetter moving fwd?
@Ethan777100 right now, I will continue to use the EV3 Mindstorm brick and motors since those are the only control logics I currently have for Lego. When the pinsetter is completed, I'll probably convert to Lego's newest Mindstorm model, so it is easily accessible for others.
😊
@PinDominator what’s the second EV3 for? I just want to know because I just bought a second one to use on my pinsetter but idk how😅 congrats on a working distributor!🎉
Also can you do an updated shakerboard tutorial and rake tutorial? Taking a lot of inspiration from the GS-X and now an A-2? I can’t make up my mind please help
It's for the distributor. Right now it's used to power the shaker/pinwheel/ball return with one motor
Please put the logos on the pins
Pls pls pls don’t drop rocket dog honestly u have creds to best realistic pinsetter edits and stuff 😊❤
can the curtain on that lego A-2 be inverted?
I don't see why not ;)
well why not do a video where you try to convert some difficult splits on an inverted curtain
If you have them
