I am glad i noted the flag on the wall and recommended that you had to see this. I think it should be used for sporting events, broadcast signoffs, and political campaigns. Dan is special, and I would love to see more American's achieve that depth of feeling when they consider the battle of Fort McHenry, and the meaning of that flag. Absolutely the way I felt after seeing this the first time. My family has been filled with men (and women) who have fought for our country. The way Dan honors this country that isn't even his own, and the heartfelt way he presents it, hits me very hard. I think the only other person who has sung it in that way, was when my youngest daughter (who is a TREMENDOUS singer and musician) sang it at her senior class graduation. She was only there because she had been allowed to do her elective classes there, while I homeschooled her (from 7th grade onward). She sang the anthem with all of her heart and soul, and there were tears all over the auditorium. I'll never forget that day, and I'll never forget hearing Dan sing this (even if I DIDN'T listen to it every other day or so--grin). Thank you very much, for your wonderful reaction.

The first night we gathered with other bands and heard the Austrian National Anthem and the United States National Anthem. I've never been so proud to be an American. As a combat veteran of the U.S. Army (11B) I love my National Anthem and what it stands for...that said, what I heard was someone singing it with FORTISSIMO (very loud) and with feeling. The Star Spangled Banner is a poem written as bombs were bursting in the air. Dan Vasc does Francis Scott Key proud...he sings it loud and clear FOR ALL TO HEAR. "O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation! Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - "In G0D is our trust," And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave."

I just this week heard Dan's version and it's now among my top 3 favorite versions of the National Anthem. The other 2 favorites are Whitney Houston's traditional version and Madison Rising's version. If you've never heard the one by Madison Rising before, it's on RUclips, and the lead singer is US Navy Veteran, David Bray. It is quite amazing.

I just so happen to be scrolling and saw that you're reacting to Dan. I just turned 60 in August and let me tell you something this man has an amazing voice and he sang this song with so much passion, power and I think every two comments that kind of nailed it on the head when they said admiration. Even though he lives in Brazil he has said and also shown his love for the United States. Thank you for your service God bless stay safe oh, and I really hope you enjoyed the song.❤❤

I'm Canadian and I had chills, I'm a big fan of Dan Vasc BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
As a combat veteran of the U.S. Army (11B) I love my National Anthem and what it stands for...that said, what I heard was someone singing it with FORTISSIMO (very loud) and with feeling. The Star Spangled Banner is a poem written as bombs were bursting in the air. Dan Vasc does Francis Scott Key proud...he sings it loud and clear FOR ALL TO HEAR.
"O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand

Dan doesn't have to have been born here to be a Patriot, yet he is....an American Patriot. What a beautiful, good man that I want to see in person, in concert, some day. He deserves the stage. I just this week heard Dan's version and it's now among my top 3 favorite versions of the National Anthem. The other 2 favorites are Whitney Houston's traditional version and Madison Rising's version. If you've never heard the one by Madison Rising before, it's on RUclips, and the lead singer is US Navy Veteran, David Bray. It is quite amazing.
As a patriotic American I love this version. I don't care if he is from Brazil. Would love to hear him perform this at the Super Bowl. Totally awesome! Shows how much he respects our country. He took some flack for this but made no apologies. Good for you Dan.
