I know you probably won't see this, but Jason did have a creative outlet in Metallica, it was called Load/ReLoad. Those 2 albums are really similar to what this band made.
Plus Blackends' main riff was Jasons'
LRed13 actually he’s said that James was really protective about load and reload, and neither one of those albums are as good as Jason’s album over all. Just sayin’
I'm a big Metallica fan, but I think Jason leaving was probably the best option. He makes a great vocalist.

I love how everyone can't split Jason from Metallica. Seriously, yes though Metallica may have boosted Jason's fame/status, but they didn't make him a better bass player. If anything they just limited his outlet. Not to point fingers.... And besides He was jamming with Voivod for quite sometime. So he would have climbed the ladder to success anyways. But I still love all his material. I look up to him as a bass player, and as a person.
Jason's the reason I was ever interested in bass.

Newsted has always been my favorite metal artist. For me this EP is the best thing that has happened to the metal scene in years. Jason is back in the game!
Guys, just because he was in Metallica does not mean this is going to be a "Metallica" album, This is Jason's own band that does it's own thing. This to me has a very strong Motorhead feel, but This is a great song and i can't wait to see what else Jason has in-store for us.

i see your point, while i do see some elements of Thrash, it's not 'as' fast or heavy as other thrash we are used. Although comparing them to motorhead like you did would be spot on.

i totally agree very motorhead. i think he just surpassed being in metallica as mustaine once had to do after being booted. difference is jason chose to leave....and it turned out to work out for him better than metallica did though they've moved on into cool territiory i do believe jason is capable of making better music. he proves it here...im sstoked.

very metal and very predictable. but i like. its like going back to the days where we stole Terrorizer copies.
To me, this song to be considered thrash, should have a much faster riff, had a different kind of solo, a more complex drumming... idk, i feel it powerful, strong, heavy... but not thrashy.
I imagine Newsted's music as being killed hitted 10 times by a big hammer in your head and pieces of your brain and skull are all around the floor ; and ThrashMetal music as being cutted 100 times by a very sharp sword and all your body is in pieces on the ground before you even realise.

ummm, i'm gonna have to disagree on one part, I would consider this song thrash. It has Thrash's fast tempo's and heavy aggressive riffs. I don't think length has anything to do with it. On the other topic, i also agree it is not as good as what Metallica is putting out. Nothing wrong with how heavy it is, it's just that the lyrics on all these songs could use some work. i mean Jason was definitely using his imagination here but some stuff he says doesn't make sense :(

But why do u have to compare this with metallica?? has nothing to do one with each other. This is no way better than Death Magnetic. They are just different. DM is thrash, longer and more progressive songs... this is pure metal, short, heavy, a teeth blower punch.
