The armor is hanging a bit too low. If you look at horse and elephant armor it never extends below the "knee/elbow" so that it doesn't interfere with running (or kicking). Usually it stretches down to just below the belly, and if the beast needs more armor than that it's protection attached to the legs rather than hanging down.
good to know ill be sure to adjust that in future renditions of this thing
You think articulated Armor like that of knights could work? Since these seem like slow animals
@@averageeughenjoyer6429 Articulated armor was sometimes used on Indian war elephants. There is a preserved example of articulated armor for a mughal war elephant. Probably one of the mughal emperors favorites, because based on the armor the elephant would have been between 11 and 12 feet tall (which is about as big as an indian elephant can get. 9 feet is more normal).

Platybelodon (platy-bell-uh-don) is such a cool animal
Prehistoric elephants go crazy so I'm glad you're using them for inspiration
The game Clash: Artifacts of Chaos has a platybelodon man as the biggest recurring enemy you can face. It's a game set in a world full of freaks, monsters and chimeras and as part of the Zeno Clash franchise takes inspiration from the likes of medieval woodcuts of random monsters as well as some historical animals.
Very much recommend looking into that series for any fans of strange and hideous creatures.

Something that i find unique about your work, compared to other body-horror-esque art is how the horrific or grotesque aspects of your setting feel mundane to the people of your setting. So much BH art is drawn to be shocking, terrifying, or otherwise unworldly, even within their settings. Here, the way mages mutilate their body feels less out of some sick perversion or alien mind, but cold efficiency in a world too hard to live in to not utilize a powerful resource because of squeamishness or loss. Theres a stark utilitarian presence to the horror aspects of your creations, that gives them this grounded grimness thats very intriguing. Less "life is pain, and so you must suffer to truly live" or "you're strange, permanent structures bend and become ineffable before my alien mind!" And more "look, life isn't all unicorns and rainbows, sometimes you have to get your hands dirty". Your world doesn't feel defined soley by it's darker aspects, but does feel intrinsically tied to them, like a uncomfortable fact of everyday life, preferably ignored by most, except when it can't be.
you perfectly described exactly why im so drawn to monstergarden... i really hope to be able to express this in a similar way in my own works
The reason I first started following your work a few months ago is because of your creature design, and the War Boar doesn’t disappoint! Ever since you first showcased art of this creature, I recognized the Platybelodon inspiration, and given that domestic boars in our own world are scary already, I can’t imagine facing one of these behemoths on the field! Keep up the amazing worldbuilding, I absolutely love this animal!

Indonesian here, i love how this design is based on the Babirusa (aka Deer pig) with the tusks positioning curl down back into the skull is such a cool and unique looking feature that i don't see alot in media.

Modern interpretations of Platybelodon depict it with more of a traditional elephant trunk. The modern theory being that is used these incisors to help it cut grass at its base, as well as dig up roots

You might consider making the carnyx looking thing on the forehead of the boar a massive war horn, used not only for terrifying the enemy but as a rallying point and morale booster for its allied infantry

I think you can keep the verusian design, it can be less common but an example of the verus having their own spin on adorning and arming the creatures

The star mole's snout makes it impossible to use the war boar as a mount or transport.
The nerve endings and the exposure of the snout to the elements and enemies would leave it in a total frenzy, uncontrolled fear, etc...
Aesthetically it is exotic and interesting, but you will have problems if you go ahead with the project with the star mole snout.
I got here 4 hours after upload, but I still got one! I was afraid they'd be gone by now.

SOUTH EAST ASIAN AND/OR AZTEC, ALSO BLENDED WITH THE CURRENT STYLE.
This implies cultural crossover whilst having two cultures that seem almost entirely alien to eachother. Something interesting to consider may be that certain things such as Dwarves or Boars etc will have wildly different cultural connotations, so playing with that can allow for very interesting contrasts.

If you ever design elves I think you should make them Mothlike, I think it would fit the overall feel of your world and also be not just a variant human like you had mentioned with dwarves. I think it also would fit that similar to how moths are drawn to flames so also are elves drawn to magic. Moths retain the graceful feel while also feeling atypical and mysterious.
