I had a bit of an annoyance with TA/Petro last week and now I'm going to fuss about it😄😄 What Says you?

Nobody cares, for this country we are nothing from the government to the citizens. But when there are problems and they need us, we are their heroes. I am looking for a way to stop driving trucks. This country does not deserve the sacrifice we go through to keep this country moving.
I fully agree. I've been in it for a long time and do not intend to stay long enough to retire from it. I'm with you.
Remember when they thought everyone was going to die from the cough a couple years ago but wanted us to still stay on the road to keep the supermarkets stocked 😂😂😂 they sure put on a great act like we were appreciated, only to get thrown aside soon as it ended

All of them like that. I couldn't get a mud flap done for " 2hrs" with empty bays
Had that same incident a couple of months back. I looked at them like they were crazy and just went and bought one and did it myself and sent in for reimbursement (company trailer) they are all pretty awful now.
Most are complete dumps. I’m always amazed with how dirty and run down they are.
With just a few exceptions on dealer owned locations, it's gotten BAD!
both shops were probably shocked that some Americans still drive trucks seems like the league of nations out there on muricas roads
Its a different world out here now for sure!
"Petro And TA....Do They Care Anymore?" Simple Answer: NO!
That's as simple as it gets😄 And......not wrong at all!
All you need to know why things are the way they are is look to owns the franchise .
Getting smaller by the day....Buffet just bought Pilot/Flying J
Yep I just didn't want to give the world that didn't know it the bad news .@@RocknRollTrucker
Go check out my friends cite Trucking life with Pawna .He's running a live feed and been at before Christmas and right now there asleep and it's snowing .and you can't see out the window .@@RocknRollTrucker
Twelve years ago, I retired after 38 years of driving. Sorry, there isn't enuf money in this world to get me to go back to it.
I've got a couple of years left in me at best. I completely understand what you mean.
Morning Buddy, It’s really sad the way the Trucking Industry is heading as a whole, Just the Totally Ludicrous Way Truckers and Companies are being Regulated is Enough Bullshit in itself is a Crime but when you add in the Corporate Structure it gets even worse!🤬🤬🤬
Greed seems to be the New Normal and profits over Providing for the Truckers is more common place than Ever!!
It’s not all the fault of Corporations but a Large Part of the Blame falls on the Management at these places and sadly a lot of the Employees really need to go to another line of work, I suggest that they consider cleaning Porta Potty’s for a more rewarding career!
I hope you have a Great Day Today My Friend 🤙😎😎
I’m Going To N.C to visit my Brother for Four Days, Be there Friday afternoon 👍
He got transferred to a Therapy Facility yesterday afternoon and I think He’s got a good chance to regain the use of his left side 🙏
I can’t wait to see him and to be home again in “Gods Country “👍
I haven’t been home in 5 years now and that’s far too long!
Sorry for writing you a Book this morning 😅
Take care and Stay Safe Out There Brother 🙏
Man, you sure said a mouthful....but you aren't wrong🤷♂️😄
Sounds like, besides a good family visit, you should have some of that Carolina BBQ in your future!
It's a generational occurrence. I would venture to guess that they were millennials or gen z.
One was but the other side of the road was a mid 50s gentleman.
Ta and petro is all about the money most chain truck stops are now because its about getting fuel and leave you really do not want to hang out at a truck stop
There's a few I still like to kick around at, but yeah, it's not like it used to be and those are getting pretty rare.
It all depends on the location. Unfortunately the TA shops in the south tend to be worse. I’ve had better luck on states like Minnesota and Wisconsin
You aren't wrong at all. One of the few I've had a positive experience at is in Indiana and pretty much all of the bad ones have been in the south. Good observation.
I don't do T/A or Petro...Both can kiss my ass...Over the major truck stop chains...Loves are the best in my opinion...Far as Flying J n Pilot goes...It's about half way there of becoming the T/A or Petro...But TA n Petro are the worst...They wasn't like that back when I started in 99...Expensive n paid parking wasn't even heard of back then...I will not pay to park n never have n never will... better places I can put my money to instead...
No lies detected😄😄
Nobody cares anymore. Just how it is
Kind of a bummer, but it's also pretty true.
Mechanics are lazy. We had a really good one at new Penn years ago. Guy would drop what he was doing fix whatever you needed right on spot. Pm was every 6 months and they would fix anything that looked like it was gonna need fixing before the next pm. I broke down one time turbo went not a maintenance issue just one of those things. Equipment was old and still serviceable. You can find a good mechanic anymore
Definitely getting harder to find a good one. The guys at the company shop that I'm leased onto are great and I have a friend that has helped me out several times that is awesome as well....other than that... yeah, hard to come by for sure!
Just remember who is in cahoots with these stops. He owns alot of trains???
Old Mr. Buffet. Just bought up Pilot/ Flying J a few weeks ago, too😒😒😒😒😒
I live on the road (OTR) I go inside a TA or a Petro once or twice a year
User to be my favorite places at one point. I still like a few, but man, they have just really gone down hill!
nobody cares anymore. everything is on autopilot.
Sadly and unfortunately true as far as I can see🤷♂️
The loves and pilot are worse
The only thing I'll give them credit for is at least they both eventually remodel their stores.....eventually 😄😄 You can pass away of old age waiting to get into a Love's shop, though.
My father was a truck driver from 1957 to 2008. He had the same complaints. Do you know how many truck stop/service center chains came & went during his career? It's the way it goes.
I'm quite honestly surprised that Petro and TA are surviving. Your dad definitely saw a lot. Thats a heck of a run!
@@RocknRollTrucker Had no log books when he started. Drove 70/h a week. Slept over the steering wheel while the trailer was being unloaded. Drove through snow blizzards. I have a couple of his paystubs from 1960, you should those....and how little he got paid, even for 1960.
@TheBeatenPaths completely different ball game back then, for sure! Those guys got to see an entirely different world.
I'll say this...I never thought I'd miss log books.....but I do now😄
Doing your own PM really isn't that difficult as long as you have a means to deal with the refuse oil and for that you might be able to just have shop do that and that alone which might mean less resistance from these people. So all you need is filters, filter tools, the ability to prime filters and to get lube into zerk fittings and for that it is probably an idea to get a battery operated grease gun.
You aren't wrong at all. I just usually run a tight schedule during the week and live in an apartment complex with no place for the truck and park at the company shop, so A- I'm not real sure how crazy they'd be about 1 of their contractors wrenching in the lot if the shop that cuts us a good deal, and B- I just stay in full hectic mode outside of the truck. I can do basic stuff and have wrenched on motorcycles fir years, but honestly, it's worth the extra dollars to have someone else do it. Sounds lazy, and it may be...but it is what is us.
Again.....you are 100% correct and under different circumstances, I'd probably do just that. Life would probably be much simpler if I did😄😄
@@RocknRollTrucker Is it safe to assume that the company shop has an actual truck service shop? If so I would ask them if they can recommend a local mom & pop place or maybe a one man mobile service who is looking for work.
@kmg501 yeah, they have a full service shop. Small company that runs as an agent for a big one. Good bunch of folks and very competent mechanics in the shop and they give us a killer hourly rate when we need anything so its a definite benefit and I use them on most things. The PM was just over due and I wasn't sure they'd be able to get to it on the weekend so I opted to get it done on the fly figuring it would be a simple task at a simple time. The folks I encountered just didn't want to work or take my money.
@@RocknRollTrucker Roger that, well then the last thing to think about is sending a letter to corporate about the lack of service you received. I find it curious that you ran into that but there has to be a good reason for it. Not good as in appropriate, good as in understanding why it went down that way in two different chain shops.
@kmg501 I was surprised it happened the exact same way with the exact same verbiage right across the street like that....but, I have also had the exact same story at different locations in other states in the last year as well. For me, it's an annoyance, but basically comes down to spending my money elsewhere when need be🤷♂️
Thanks for the conversation and input...it is appreciated and I hope I haven't come off as a know it all in explaining myself. I appreciate you taking the time to chat it up👍👍
why does it look like you are driving on the passenger side of truck. and those dumb ass ear rings.
I'm the dumb ass but you can't figure that out😒😒😒😒😒
Truck drivers always complain on youtube.
Thanks for the very astute observation and input👍👍
Why should they care? Truckers treat there places like a garbage pit. We dont respect them, why should they respect us?
When you are attempting to give them hundreds of dollars for a simple service, they should care.....taking your money is kind of what they are there for🤷♂️
exact same as you. Its worse than ever.
It surely does seem to be, to me.
