Probably the best example of modern jazz piano. Unreal.

3:56 - Eldar's solo is so amazing, it's easy to overlook what else is going on. Give it a listen while focusing on Keith's bass playing. He adds so many flourishes throughout that seem like call-and-response, like he's occasionally interjecting to add acknowledgment and often humorous commentary to Eldar's dialog. Maybe I'm reading to much into it, IDK. Either way, I love the subtlety.

A modern twist on one of my favorite songs. I love it and I think Miles would have too!!

I believe Bill Evans wrote it. Perhaps we should be wondering if Bill would like this version. I’d like to think he would.

@@kevincoleman9855 Bill Evans himself said Miles had written it (see the Helsinki home concert).

Wow, you're fortunate. I love his intensity in these Studio Jams videos; it makes me think he would be a demanding instructor. Is that accurate?

Funny you should mention that. I just replayed that moment nearly 10 times, trying to figure out what he did there. I mean... I GUESS it was stashed between his first and second fingers, but I couldn't see it. So funny that someone else should notice that. You must be a guitarist.

You can see by their physical and musical gestures that they did play this together. Whether they were a little far apart in the studio, or the piano was in a booth, I don't know. But I have no doubt they played together.
