- Bonhamology Central has moved!
I'm very excited about having this space! I'm still in the process of getting it setup. I'm going to put some custom sound treatments up on the walls, make it look cool, get the mics setup etc. I'm very excited about having this space!
This is just a quick bit from practicing the other day, camera audio.

When it comes to your videos I am a simple man: I press like before play. And I never regret it.
😄🙏🏼
Many talented musicians in the world but nobody does it better than Mr. George and Mr. Jimmy.
You know you made the big time when you and your drums get kicked out of the house. Congrats on the new practice place man.
🤣
Sounds so good. So many players just approach Bonham wrong as they think they need to crush the drums. This is how it was done and I also love the way you play jazz. I think studying/listening to jazz is the key to enlightenment when it comes to Bonham. The Ludwigs and Paiste cymbals sound great!
I could watch videos of this for hours. Keep rockin, George.
Thanks!
hypnotising, as usual.
we call it "50000 hours practise" . It would be my dream to play like that!
Man oh man George, that was fun. I need a space.
I just love that kit. Every time you take it out I'm just fixated.
Sounds great George, let’s have some more. Your skills are mesmerising, inspiring and wondrous to behold. Thanks for showing us.
@Bonhamology Congrats on the new space George! Have a blast setting it up how you like. Even though I'll miss where it all began, (and the fridge in the basement), it's onto bigger and better things with the new space. I look forward to how it evolves. Great playing and it already sounds good with just the phone mic! ✌❤🥁
In a word - Glorious.
Wonderful! And starting around 1:38 is golden.
Thanks, Terry! ❤
Kit sounds incredible. Your videos are must-see youtube. Thanks.
Yeah man nice George love it
Awesome George. Loving the look (and sound of course) of that stainless kit.
Can't wait to see what you do with this space. It's gonna be great.
Sounds really good! Say I just started listening heavily to Steve Miller Band again recently and wow Gary Mallaber is the man! That guy can groove! Would you consider doing a cover of Fly Like An Eagle? I can picture you nailing that song with the same feel. Great video as always.
So freakin' great! But I want the bass drum cam :)
Congratulations on the new practice space! I'm very excited to see it once you get it fully set up. The sound quality is surprisingly good for a phone microphone, and your playing is as amazing as ever!
Sounds SOOO GOOOD! I am envious of that stainless kit George! Your groove and feel can make any of them sound good! Cheers George!
Thank you!
You could make the inside of a tin shed sound good. Much love my friend, sounds amazing.
Thanks! 🙏🏻
Continuing to inspire us all, George, Beautiful drumming ! Thx.
Great acoustics your new dojo has there! I've been watching some of your 90's recordings lately, they're on Drummerworld.... amazing stuff, you're a top quality drummer no doubt about it.
Thanks very much!
Heck yes going to do this .on Sunday thank you great work
Cool. The room sounds great! I hope you’ll enjoy it at the new place! Flawless playing as always too of course. Have a good one George! 🥁// Claes
It's amazing how comfortable loose you play regular grip instead of traditional true Bonham style.
I can watch that all day
Sounding great as always! Congrats on the new space.
The room sounds terrific! The acoustics really serve the drums. Plenty of ambience, yet clear enough to sound like a well-recorded, well-produced album track. I swear you could lay down tracks for anyone with just the mics you’ve got going right there. You can hear everything and with perfect balance. No post necessary!
Sounds great!
Awesome! I hear elements of Moby Dick, The Crunge, and Out On The Tiles, in this. Nice bass drum triplets too. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️ 🥁
🙏🏻
I love that kit…. It sounds amazing.. I’m sure you could use it for just about any style of music. So gentle and warm …yet it will blow your face off if needed
Yes, it really is very dynamic
Hmm, your home studio had better resonance, I think this place makes the snare sound a bit boxy.. maybe it's just the mic placement/mix. Regardless, your playing is always top. I wish you a swift setup.
As I said in the description, this is just the camera audio. No mics set up yet. 😊
Oh, now I see! George, you sound great even on a potato! 🫡🫡🫡
@@Strellock 😂
Damn straight right there on it!
Killer chops, George!!! Everything is so clean.
it might got loud?
Nice space George...congrats. Your playing is always top notch too.
Triple strokes! 👏
Excellent pattern/groove you had going! What’s the story with the new space?
lovely George. hope the room meets your demanding ears .might you consider a crack at "Green Earrings " and or "Bulls on Parade " ? cheers
Are those A and F cymbal stands? Love em!
The playing ain't too shabby either.
Yes! Thanks.
George how are you micing this kit! It is caprired beautifully!!
Alright!🎉
Nice! I hope it's not a "new practise space - aka I forgot about the valentines day" scenario 😄
Just missing the 1975 showco LED ZEPPELIN sign in the back
Nice room with just enough echo.
It's a bit bright and harsh though so I'm getting some acoustic panels
George, what do you prefer, Pre Serial 602s, or 1950s A's? As a whole. I have quite the collection of vibtage As. Love them. But I dont own or never played a single Paiste. Would love to lnow your take on thay. Thank you!!
Noice! Killer riffage in this one Geo. Looking forward to hearing about the new practice/recording space.
This may be of some use to you as far as sound treatment for your walls. In the AVS forum, there is a thread that has really cool sound control panels that the members have built featuring custom printed fabric movie posters. So instead of printing movie poster you can print music related photos. Also, it's way cheaper than anything commercial available and they aren't all all difficult to build (any hobbist/DIY'er can easily knock these out and instructions are in the thread along with the fabric/printing places).
Just use the search feature and copy paste this title in to find the thread: DIY Custom-Printed Movie Poster Acoustic Panels - cheap!' Version 2.0 Discussion
Thanks, actually that's exactly what I'm going to do but I'm going with another company, I'm getting a good deal on a set of six.
@@BONHAMOLOGY Excellent! Looking forward to the upcoming studio tour vid!
Georgy boy! Hey, that 18" doesn't seem to be "swinging" freely, it looks like it is getting caught on the cymbal sleeve and that is stopping it from moving all the way. The 20" doesn't seem to have that issue.....
I think the sleeve is too fat, gotta change that
George..how would pat's delight sound on stainless?
I think it would be great! If I can play it well!
Do you ever play with heavy sticks? Like a 2b or 5b.
Yes, occasionally, the sticks that I had custom made are kind of like a 5b thickness.
Is that bass drum 24 or 26 size?
26x14
Needs more gong.
😅
Sorry, I missed the story on why you got a new space or moved???
I just wanted to have more privacy and time to practice and work on videos, and it's a little hard to do that at home around everyone's schedules.
@BONHAMOLOGY Hey! Thanks for responding! All the best and God bless you!
Sound is awesome. What was your micing set up?
I don't have any mic setup yet on this kit, this is just camera audio. I have a video where I run down my micing setup.

Oh no, he's doing that Terry thing with the boring remote videos. The early videos with the lively basement videos were the best.
