Thank you so much for this tutorial, I have tried several times to figure this stitch out and just couldn’t get it. Thanks to your tutorial I finally got it so thanks a ton for that. 😁
11:40 I have been looking at different written manuals how to do cable pattern and the one I did a mock-up piece with relied heavily on hdc and basically skipping rows. I'm so glad I found your tutorial which doesn't "waste" as much yarn
Row 2 = Front Post double crochet. Row 3 = Back post double crochet. Row 4 = Front Post treble crochet from stitches 4-6, then 1-3. Row 5 = Back post double crochet. Row 6 = Front Post double crochet. Row 7 = Back post treble crochet stitches 4-6, then 1-3.
Pattern: 6 front post dc 6 back post dc Skip 3, treble into the 4,5 and 6, then back into 1,2 and 3 6 back post dc 6 front post dc Skip 3, treble in back post of 4,5 and 6, then back into 1,2 and 3 Then just repeat Thank you for the tutorial! Had to write it down to understand
Excellent tutorial! I've tried to watch others and they were very difficult to follow. But yours was very easy to follow and watch. Thank you for sharing.
Dear Anne, thank you for posting this video. My daughter only liked your pattern of the many patterns we saw on RUclips so I finished one sock but in the end the cable stitch didn't come the way you did. So I am trying to do the other one, only hoping the cable stitch comes out exactly like yours.
love the video and it was very helpful for the item i was trying to make! i love this video and hope to see more tuts in the future! thanks yarn cakes !!!!! :)
Thank you for this! I want to recreate that knit cardigan/tube top combo Kendall Jenner wore but I much prefer crochet so I’m glad to have found an easy cable knit tutorial for it!
Hello. Nice & simple. Thank god. I love this stitch but its too tough,or so.i thought. What i want to ask is that do you have a video for a scarf with a simple cable design? Or can i just sort of double this,or make it on two sides of the myuffler / scarf? Thanks. ❤
Using this for a blanket. Thank you for excellent explanation of steps, but what do you do with the back? It just looks messy and bumpy there. Any suggestions???
after many years of crocheting and trying not to have a tighter foundation row, I finally clued in to this hint. If I am using a size 5 hook for the article I am making, then I use a 5.5 or even a 6 to do the foundation row so its looser and I dont have a tighter foundation row
Really good tutorial and better than any others I found. I wish you would discuss tension a bit. It seems this needs to be worked very loosely and have holes...especially at crossovers. Anyway thanks and I don't mind "just like that."
I just started crocheting a week ago and I'm hoping to make some leg warmers! If i'm increasing the foundation to 24, would I still do 3 double crochets before doing double crochets into the front post? or would I do 6 double crochets before doing double crochets into the front post?
Question: I know you are only doing a sample piece but what do you do after the three front post, triple crochets and then go back and do the other 3 front post triple crochet(the criss cross?) How do you continue with the pattern? Do you add three double crochets and then continue the 3 front post triple crochet?
for those of you making tops with this, unless you want a sideways look: the amount of base chains (6) is the width of the top (like the waist/bust) NOT THE LENGTH!! learned this the hard way :(
This may seem like a dumb question so I’m sorry I’m advance… but after you do the 3 double crochets would you do another 3 double crochets? So at the beginning you do 3 double crochets, 6 front post DC and then 3 DC. So you’d do another 3 double crochets if you did more than 12 chains right?
I tried doing this as exactly as you said in multiples of 12, but didn't end up with the 3 stitches at the end. I did it as 24 stitches plus the extra stitches but think I need to do another 12 stitches. I just don't want a really wide scarf, not sure how to amend this for a narrower scarf.
I wish you would stop at the end of each row to see what it should look like. I’m having trouble finding where to pick up stitches now that it’s twisted. (Row6)😢
I've been trying to make your thigh high socks shorter/knee length but in that video there are NO instructions on how to make the cable on the OUTSIDE of the other sock...only outside of left sock is shown. Please help!
I'm sure you are a very nice person and I compliment you on making this stitch easy to understand. I don't enjoy your videos however because I can't stand to listen to you keep saying Just like that, Just like that, Just like that over and over and over again. If not for that I would try to learn all the stitches you offer. Sorry Dear.
This is ridiculously difficult. No, don't think I'll ever make anything with it, because if I ever tried to, it would take a million years to finish it. Leave cable stitches to knitters.
Thank you so much. This makes it all so much easier, cheers from Ireland
I have found this tutorial on the crochet cable stitch to be the easiest to follow on youtube. Job well done; thank you.
This tutorial is very well done. Super clear instructions. Thank you so much.

World’s most dangerous drinking game: take a shot every time they say the phrase “just like that”
😅
They already created that- it's called 'alcoholism'
@@atadbitahistory9660 hitting a little too close to home there bud
@@Jo_Sephineee For you or for me?
And then crochet!
somehow i managed to follow through, thank you!!
4:49 0n Friday Jan 2. If we want it to be longer . Do we still double crochet the first 3 stitches at the beginning and the end.

I’m wondering the same thing
Hii, i love this technic. do yo think i could i use half double crochet instead of the double crochet on the sides for i tighter look?
Would you be able to do increase and decrease in the cable without messing it up? Like in a hat where the top is smaller and the base is wider.
Thankyou for the tutorial❤
Great video thank you
Hi. Love pattern. Do you have written pattern.
Question: I know you are only doing a sample piece but what do you do after the three front post, triple crochets and then go back and do the other 3 front post triple crochet(the criss cross?)
How do you continue with the pattern? Do you add three double crochets and then continue the 3 front post triple crochet?
Hope you guys found this tutorial helpful! Please leave a comment for any questions or video ideas!
can u have a project suggestions where you use yarn for maximum of 100g yarn for those who are broke (like me)?
Wow, this was such a clear tutorial! Thank you so much, I managed to follow through and did it at my first try! :)
Thanks

I've extended the pattern to have multiple repeats of 12, how would the 3rd row be?

I had the same issue and had to go back and do by nines
Is the thigh socks video no longer available?
I wish you would stop at the end of each row to see what it should look like. I’m having trouble finding where to pick up stitches now that it’s twisted. (Row6)😢
Aww man the socks video is private. Is theee somewhere else to access it?
I’ve tried five times to get it right but I can’t get the last step correct. It’s so awkward to do the last three backposts. I give up.
Me too, gave up.

❤ give me my crocheting library please
Very well explained . The camera work is a little fuzzy unfortunately.
Easy she says. Little does she know I came back after months of not knitting. I couldn’t read the first sample I made lol.
I need to try this🌹
After row 7 I'm lost👁️👄👁️ where do i start to keep the twist.
I've been trying to make your thigh high socks shorter/knee length but in that video there are NO instructions on how to make the cable on the OUTSIDE of the other sock...only outside of left sock is shown. Please help!
Say just like that one mo time
I've just been giggling to that too lol xx
Knitted cables are easy, these are not ,but eventually I'll get it
Just like that,I like it just like that!♡♡♡♡♡♡◇♡♡

Just like that. She says it 90 times. Just like that.

Too fast for me sorry 😭
This is ridiculously difficult. No, don't think I'll ever make anything with it, because if I ever tried to, it would take a million years to finish it. Leave cable stitches to knitters.
Why the hell do u do the stitch and one week later describe it 😂😂
I got I’d down after like 6 tries and many many hours 🥲
Lol me too haha
Not the only one! 😊
Do you have written instructions?
You made this tutorial so simple and easy, thanks
