You are so right. I did something I almost never do, removed it from the base. Sure enough, Mini Champs. It even roles, Spark never do. I will probably never get it back on the base as the base is a nightmare from hell. Who thinks this stuff up?.
Interesting and weird. Having collected almost 400 model cars from all race car manufacturers, I'd thought I'd seen it all. Next time I'll be seeing pink elephants no no that would be Iron Dames.
That is a bizarre car and model. I was going to guess Minichamps as others have confirmed. They along with Kyosho made a lot of the BMW dealer editions over the years. Like the flip box presentation. Unique for sure. Car looks like an upgraded version of the 1998 car but is not the Factory 1999 upgrade winning car. Typical customer car modified to improve but not exceed the factory version;)
Look at you...knowing a bit about prototypes. Both you and Steve have said the same thing. Therefore, I'm inclined to believe that you are both right. I just uploaded a review of both Penske Porsche 963s. One of them had a missing rear internal support rod. Found when I opened the sealed acrylic cover. I've never had a broken part of any Spark 1/43 not Formula One. Very surprising.
@ hahahaha….I am learning! will check that video out… I would guess at 1/43rd things stay put a bit more but I feel a good amount of the rear wings on my Spark LeMans cars arrive broken, and for awhile any Minichamps resin F1 car had broken front wings. It has been less of a problem lately. The 1/18th Porsche GT1-98 in my recent video had broken rear wing end plates ans wing was off the upright supports. Had to fix it for the video. Not sure why I did not when I bought it years ago. Hahaha

My upcoming Penske Porsche 963 video had one the cars clearly missing a rear support strut (internal) when I opened the car (live) from the base, I found it. Then lost it trying to apply. Was glad I lost it as probably would have done more harm applying. In a few days I have another video entitled "What's wrong with Mini GT." I think you will find it interesting and controversial.
This is actually a 1998 V12 LM, with a partial LMR front - it's not equivalent to the updated LMR that won in 1999. Definitely a Minichamps - underneath the cardboard base I expect would be a normal Minichamps base with the plastic prongs poking through holes in the cardboard. I have this model but in a standard Minichamps box. I wasn't aware that Steve Soper (touring car legend) drove this in '99. The LM that ran under the works team in 1998 looks better I think and it has the original front as well.

Seeing as your right about almost everything related to cars and model cars, I'm going to go with you.
@@markzebr6463 it ran in 1999 but it's a 98 car, with a 99 style front nose. If you compare this to the 98 car, you'll see the body is the same, aside from the very front. The V12 LMR from 99 has a different body shell.
I have a BMW V12 LM (Not LMR) that it's from the BMW's dealer. Btw, this is also a V12 LM, not a LMR, the LMR was the full-factory white car, the LM was the 1998 and customer 1999 car, but the 1999 version used the design of the LMR and it's easy to find the differences between the LM from 1998 and the LM from 1999, but it's not as easy to find them between the LMR and the LM from 1999
