Let's hope this will become a game where its like Odyessy where there is lots to roam and explore, but this could end up becoming the ultimate Medieval Japan action adventure game where you can visit cities and castles on a grand scale. Honestly I think this could be a great title, but the STORY is always important. Plus, the music never disappoints with AC.

I am currently replaying ac odyssey and just had the sequence with alexios/kassandra talking to Layla. Do you think that Layla will set the balance right? Nice roundup. I don't know how to feel about the game really, on paper all of the new mechanics and design changes do genuinely sound good especially in comparison to Odyssey and I think I'd potentially enjoy it a lot more. But I feel like the increasingly anti-consumer business practices and corporate meddling from Ubisoft combined with this being the only RPG in the series they can lean on for consistent monetization means that there is going to be a lot of tedium and live service exhaustion that will hold this back from being as good of a game as it should be. For me Red is more of a wait and see this time to see how they handle the post-launch and the balancing before deciding whether it is something I want to play, because I don't want to make the same mistake I did with getting Odyssey and dropping it midway through once the grind kicked in

i would much prefer a game where we make our own character and i really hope they dont make the MC Yasuke. I hope if they do add him and its the time period with nobunaga then he is a side character we help and has his own story. I dont believe Ubisoft will be able to make a Real life person into a good story. I prefer the AC3 style where they were side chaarcters that you met and helped
I love fantasy, but it doesnt fit AC. The best thing they could do is theme it as a psychological experience like Origins and Mirage did where its clearly not real, and mostly what theyre struggling at.
The only thing I hope is that Ubisoft Quebec has changed their writers. I can’t stand another cringe with absolutely murdered cultural era representation for the sake of fart jokes and grimacing historical figures. God, It would be better if they gave this setting to Montreal, they wanted it since the AC2 and now it's in Quebec hands.

Im really intrgued by Red it sounds like a big inprovment over Odyssey gameplaywise Odyssey is a game i have warmed up to over time but these leaks makes the gameplay sound way more refined especialy the outpost stuff because in Odyssey they didnt have any purpose they where just there to provide checklist objectives, but in Red you are actually given a reason to want to interact with them , the recruting commanders part reminds me of the nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor but in guessing its gonna be more simplified than that. Also i can really see the cultist system from Valhalla and Odyssey working really well in Red especialy with the Ninja power fantasy the game is going for Hopefully they do a better job of hiding the identity of the Templar members than what Valhalla did wich was just covering their faces in shadow

I really hope that both characters will feel different and have a different equipment. Naoe should be faster in parkour/climbing, have more tools for stealth, use smaller weapons for combat (daggers, swords), and in terms of clothing she should have something light, robes or some basic clothes. Yasuke should be more oriented towards combat (since he was a big guy and legit warrior), but still be able to do some basic stealth and parkour (but his parkour would be a bit slower and would feel heavier, similar to Eivor). However, in terms of equipment, he could use a bow, wear proper armor and helmets, and use bigger two handed weapons such as katana, spear (yari) and kanabo (club). I wouldn't even mind if there was a social stealth for Naoe but not for Yasuke (for obvious reasons). And I also wouldn't be surprised if only Naoe had a hidden blade.

At least they used hooded character with a hidden blade for announcement teaser, which is already an upgrade from Odyssey. At this point I expect Naoe to be fully trained and proper Assassin/Shinobi, and Yasuke to be just a warrior who's an ally to the Brotherhood. I believe it would make sense and it could also please a broader audience. But it's Quebec, so who knows what they'll do.
I'd rather just have the male protagonist just be Japanese, I mean...it's a bit unfair when you think about it, all the other Assasins are native to their location (more or less) or at the very least create your own character to satisfy everyone.
Do the Male and Female characters become lovers by the end of the story? I know Yasuke loses his original lover at the beginning of the story…. But Hey….

I know pointing stuff out like this is annoying to a lot of people. But using AC: Chinas soundtrack for a video on AC: Red (Japan) is kind of racist. I don’t think it was done out of malicious intent, but grouping all these south-east Asian culture into a bundle, even with the vast differences between their cultures, is a product of „Orientalism“ and because of this, it’s racist. Certain instruments in the AC: China soundtrack don’t even traditionally exist in Japan, while there’s instruments in the Ghost of Tsushima OST that don’t traditionally exist in China. You used it because „it fits the Asian setting“ which is not a fault of your own and I don’t blame you for doing it. I just want to make you and others aware of this. It’s small stuff like this that keeps racism alive. Again no hate or anything, just wanted to make people aware. ❤
Ezio was also a historical character along with his entire family. Ubisoft used the years of his life when he was in hiding to create AC2 and Brotherhood

I'd rather just have the male protagonist just be Japanese, I mean...it's a bit unfair when you think about it, all the other Assasins are native to their location (more or less) or at the very least create your own character to satisfy everyone.

If they made an Assassin's Creed online where you can create your own assasain or templar and fight along side iconic Assassins (if you choose Assassin) and Templars (If you choose Templar) and if chosing between male and female for said created character offends you... I have no words other than you need some sort of help because its common to chose gender in character creation. I am a female irl and I want to play as a female custom Assassin.
@@SupergirlJLMWhy not just play other games that have female protags? Cyberpunk 2077 pulls this off very well and still has a very decent mc and story. Character creation doesn’t fit in AC as it’s a (loosely) historically based series and also character creation and dialog choices simply shouldn’t be in AC at all.

Although I would prefer to fight as a Japanese Samurai during the Mongol Invasions, the story of Yaske is truly remarkable. It will be fun to battle as Yaske ,a Samurai and a female Shinobi.

Maybe so for the former, but definitely not the latter; Shinobi were basically the Feudal Japanese equivalent to MI6 or the the KGB, but independent of any government or organization with their own clans and groups: Their whole thing was you paying them to give your side any kind of advantage, likely hiding in plan sight with anyone willing to get paid for it. I know pointing stuff out like this is annoying to a lot of people. But using AC: Chinas soundtrack for a video on AC: Red (Japan) is kind of racist. I don’t think it was done out of malicious intent, but grouping all these south-east Asian culture into a bundle, even with the vast differences between their cultures, is a product of „Orientalism“ and because of this, it’s racist. Certain instruments in the AC: China soundtrack don’t even traditionally exist in Japan, while there’s instruments in the Ghost of Tsushima OST that don’t traditionally exist in China. You used it because „it fits the Asian setting“ which is not a fault of your own and I don’t blame you for doing it. I just want to make you and others aware of this. It’s small stuff like this that keeps racism alive. Again no hate or anything, just wanted to make people aware. ❤

The original Star Wars trilogy is inspired from a screenplay about oppressive states in feudal Japan but adds themes of World War II for gravitas for an American audience.
