    Hello i just checked my compression on my 2rz because it was misfiring when i would accelerate. For the past 3 months i been having to change spark plugs every month. I dont know whats causing to foul spark plugs.. this helps with the misfire but then after one or teo weeks of driving it the misfire comes back. Compression was 180 on 3 of the cylinder and one was 150. Need your help, you have helped me a couple of times already.. pleasee

      That sounds like it could easily be a fueling issue - if you have not changed your primary O2 sensor now would be the time to check that, along with checking for any exhaust leaks in the manifold area. Outside of that, your plugs could be fouling due to bad spark plug tube seals, worn rings (unlikely with those compression numbers), or any number of other issues.
      Hope that helps point you in the right direction, and thanks for watching!

    I _was_ thinking of putting a V8 in my 98 tacoma 2wd. But if this tutorial seems easy, I'll probly just turbo it.
    Might have to do a compression check and change a few gaskets on my 2rz though. Its at 180k

      It's pretty straightforward. My 4Runner is now at 185K with the turbo and is still running great!

      There’s not an adapter offered for any Tacoma after 95.no room in the engine bay

      @@jamesrose4263 For a V8 it's tight, but for a turbo any of the kits will fit (KO, LCE).

    Where did you attach your vacuum for your blow off valve

      It's tee'd into one of the PS pump lines, see here in my build thread: www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/150432-mc1337sauces-modest-1997-4runner-build-2.html

    would you recommend a turbo on an automatic 2rz? please respond

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  5 лет назад +1

      Shouldn't be an issue, mine is on a vehicle with a 3RZ and automatic transmission. Greatly improves performance, just be sure to recirculate your blow off valve to eliminate any stalling issues since the automatic transmission free-coasts on decel. Thanks for watching!

      @redonKiLaus  4 года назад

      @@gabrielgomez6898 It's going to be extremely similar, though I can't swear that every step can be followed verbatim. The 4Runner and Tacoma are based on the same platform.

      Did you turbo it?

  • @tro4127

    ko racing has a HKS blow off valve and tial qr rerouted to intake.. im not sure which one to get. what do you recommend ? will the 2rz have stalling issues with hks ?

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  7 лет назад +1

      I'm using the TiAL QR BOV and it works perfectly. I haven't used an HKS SSQV on a Toyota RZ engine so I can't speak to it, but you will likely have stalling issues if you have any BOV vented to atmosphere, hence why I highly recommend the recirculation option. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

      You could always try their sales email address, or calling during business hours. From personal experience, when you're running a business yourself it's sometimes easy to miss things, so I'm always understanding when it takes a while to get a response from smaller businesses.

    to install a turbo kit you must modify the ecu?
    electronic components that need to be modified?
    I have a motor and want 3Rz installing a single turbo kit

    • @redonKiLaus
      @redonKiLaus  9 лет назад +1

      You can run the stock ECU with low boost - under 5psi on a stock engine, or under 7 with upgraded pink injectors. Anything more than that and you need to use an aftermarket ECU. Thanks for watching!
