- The American medieval and renaissance ensemble Asteria (Sylvia Rhyne, soprano, and Eric Redlinger, lute and tenor) perform "Quant la doulce jouvencelle" live in the 14th century ducal palace of Prince Philip "the Bold" and Margeret of Flanders at Germolles, in Burgundy, France. Note the striking 'P' and 'M' insignias in the background (for Philip and Margeret), part of the original 14th century wall murals still preserved at the chateau de Germolles.

I have been a working musician for 46 years, have played country, bluegrass, jazz, rock & roll, southern gospel, etc. since I was 14 year old. I am now 60 and proclaim that I have never heard ANYTHING as beautiful as the music made by these two remarkable people. I will treasure their music the rest of my days,
and I fervently hope they receie the acclaim they so richly deserve.

I used to like music like techno and shit like that. Until in an accident I got this video, man, it really changed me, soon i started to see the beauty that music really is. I started hearing this music and then a friend of mine introduced me to Bach's compositions which really rocked my mi mind and my way of looking at things. Now i play the guitar, mostly classic pieces and flamenco. I owe this all to this beautiful and so talented lady and this outstanding guy. I wish i could see yo live. Thx

OMG -- that wonderful composer, Anon., does it again. What a beautiful song. Asteria truly gives us a sublime rendition of this music. It's fascinating to hear & see that five-course late medieval lute. Both voices are gorgeous, but he gets special recognition for singing and playing at the same time, which is essentially playing two instruments at once.
