- Today we are Bed lining the SN95 New Edge Mustang GT RED!!! The bedliner paint job looks so good on this 2002 Mustang.
I have had this planned for a long time. First I needed to figure out what color and my grandma helped inspire me to paint it red. I then had to save money to buy the paint and find a perfect day to do this project. Well, two days.
I am stoked with the outcome and I am beyond happy.

Acetone isn't an alcohol, it's a ketone. If you were using pure acetone, and it only said "don't use alcohols", there probably wouldn't have been a problem (obviously it turned out fine anyway), but just FYI. Would love to see an update on how it's been holding up since you did it!!
At home depot you can get a bag of 50 painters rags for $13.
I add hydrogen peroxide to the bag and use them as baby wipes and they can be washed and re-used again and again.
Peroxide removes all the grease from your hands and disinfects.

Hydrogen peroxide can actually be hard on the skin, I wouldn’t recommend doing this. It also strips the skin of natural oils that your body needs to stay hydrated and to fight bad bacteria

I did a glossy rust-oleum white using rollers on an old rolla it turned out pretty neat, it's a plus if you can do polish it.

That may look pretty good. Id recommend going with the company I went with. I tried rustoleom recently on my van and I was very disappointed.

Might want to test that claim about the bedliner not adhering to the car if alcohol was used.
They might actually be lying in order for it not to stick and cause you to buy more product of theirs.
When you remove that old fender, it would be so cool if you did a video to test if im right. Half alcohol prepped surface vs soap and water prepped surface.

now that its been a few weeks, clean it and go over it with one final coat it will look amazing. yours came out exactly how the guy with the blue carolla came out. so he waited and did one final coat a while later and it looks frikken awesome now and not blotchy anymore. i mean its been three years now since this video but IF you ever do this again lol.

Actually ended up selling it months ago, so I can’t give you a great answer. I really liked it, and the new owner really liked it, as well.
Suggestions: keep it mixed very well, so all the black specs can be spread evenly on the car.
Start with the roof and hood of the car.
It makes it easier with someone else with a smaller paint brush to hit all the nooks the roller can’t hit.

Didn’t have the accessibility for it.
Roll on is also significantly cheaper because I didn’t have to buy the equipment

Interesting.... and TOUGH.. and i'm like you-- I don't give a rats a... what anyone else things.. I LIIKE IT!!! Tough- will stand up to a LOT- and should remain looking like that compared to regular paint fade..

Yes, very difficult but possible. There is a special product that softens the bed liner and youll have to scrape it off. I do not know the products name, though

My Mustang is bed lined and from what I can tell from your video. You didnt use enough bedliner. You can see all the color from underneath.2nd why didn't you fix all the dents , crinkled fender and messed up front bumper. Just my 2 cents

At the time, I was planning on keeping the Mustang as a drift car and future wrecks were in fruition, so replacing those parts weren’t on my to do list until learned the ropes.

I have maybe 1/5th of the can left over. I would suggest maybe 1.5 gallons to be safe. Or 2 to be safer. Keep in mind, this is semi-permanent. So, make you really want to do this before you commit 🙏

@@AutoMotivate no doubt it's all yours,,just seems wrong to do to a mustang/nice car,,you could have spent a few hours and repaired the dent in front fender and than spent just a couple of buks on a maaco paintjob,,I'm all for modified cars/bikes but what you did to perfectly good car is in my OPINION just wrong,,but if you like it I luv it!! There are so many people who like cars, but just don’t do anything due to society.
