Hello again! Welcome to another Episode of my SOLO ride from the UK to Istanbul; Any questions about bike travel (solo or in a group) comment below and I'll get back to you!
That was beautiful Laura, some great views don’t know how you kept your eyes on the road. Saved watching until now so it could be my bedtime story as I knew the views and your lovely calming voiceover voice would help me switch off mentally
Nice video! I am currently taking driving lessons, can't wait till I can do this as well. Really enjoying your content! You have a new sub =) (btw: anxiety when you were driving through the mountains on 1 bar of gas left lol)
Die Schweiz is probably my favorite place in the World. So much lakes, mountains and good roads. You just need to find proper time, when cars and RV couldn't ruin your trip
Yes boss, 5am coffee, cereal and a 16min episode of Motowaifu! The people you meet along the way are absolute gems. Ride safe and see you in the next EP. which by the way I think should be double the time!!!! Peace ✌️
What a time to be alive ey ;P .. Yes they really are, they are the people that make the adventure memorable! Haha I've had a few say this! I will consider it ;) thanks for the comment too! See you next week :D
I'm glad you filmed and allowed us to see the breathtaking views on the on the road trip in Europe. Thank you so much for bringing us along. I really enjoyed it. 👍👍
Another great one, really enjoyed the commentary throughout 😊 Watching your videos is really motivating me to get my full bike license and travel allover Europe!
Thank you! Ahhh you should totallllly do it, it is hands down the greatest thing I’ve ever done for myself. When I’m riding, I feel like I’m exploring new maps in game. 🗺️
Thank you! Fingers crossed I can stick to my schedule and get it out next Sunday 😁 soooo glad you found that helpful!! It was the number one question when I wanted to start bike travelling….
Thank youuuu!! 😊😊😊 ahhh good I’m glad you find it useful! You can deffo do it cheaper than I have done in this case though. It’s day 2 and I’m blowing through my budget. 😆 thanks for joining the live chat too!!
Great video Laura. Your film quality and sound is great and your voiceover is very good to. I have problem with fast forward because of a inner ear problem, so i have to look away in those sections of your vids, other then that this was a great episode, keep up the great work! 😊
Thanks so much! I appreciate all your comments 😊🙏🏻 ahh I didn’t think about that! Sorry about that 🙈 there’s always a double speed in my videos but they don’t go on for too long 🙏🏻
Thank you!! Ahhh glad people are finding it helpful :) the number one question when I wanted to start travelling by bike was “how much does it cost”… the only problem is now - I was ignoring how much I’d spent on this trip, and now I need to face it 😆😆😆
Yessssss do it! It’s the best feeling ever! I can’t help with that one sadly :((( I had a friend do it and I had very little input in the progress! All I know is that the shade is called “hot pink”
@@MotoWaifu been looking at so many different shades and manufacturers of pink wraps! But that one is so nice 😁 Am a Norfolk lad so Watford just a tad far 😅 but thank you so much
You deserve so many more views and subscribers! I do have a question though does it cost a lot to go across borders? And for someone who wants to go across the borders and explore can you explain the process you go through maybe in a video?
Thank you so much! Hopefully if I stay consistent I'll be able to achieve that! :) ... Okay so borders I will definitely come onto in about episode 6/7ish.. In mainland Europe, the borders are open, and a lot of the time you don't realise you've crossed into another country - but in the Balkans, where I'm going, that's different, and every border costs annoyingly...
I also have a website where I've spoke about the borders in my day blogs - www.motowaifu.com/istanbultolondon/solo-ride-to-istanbul-day-8 - WARNING SPOILERS ;)
In italy there are a lot of nice roads too, specially the one that overlooks the Amalfi coast (my favorite one for sure in Italy). Literally looks like the image you see in postcards, but in person! And a lot of bikers. And 110% of the time they will give you a hand signal to say hello =) They love their bikes there!
So you are not the best in laying connections? The sparkly water bottle says “gasset”. And that hint for water with “gas” didnt you see? 😉 have a Nice trip.
I actually have a video of it on my Instagram - all the bike kit I used is also linked in my episode one video of Istanbul. When I got to Turkey I got rid of about half my clothing…. So no I didn’t need it all haha, I’ll be doing a video/blog on this to be clearer…
It is a Garmin Zumo XT2 - and yesssss it is MUCH more trusty… for one - I don’t have to have my phone on the bike, and two - I used google maps to take me to the Pyrenees, and there it took me off road multiple times. I have a great picture of it on my instagram though. I will never use a phone mount again.
@@MotoWaifu wow go yamaha. I bet everyone of them miles gave you smiles. If you planned to get another bike what would it be and would you keep the mt07 for nostalgia?
so the place that you stopped for lunch is just down the road from me. Fun Fact, Former US president Bill Clinton stopped off at the same place. He had a Pizza and a coke.
The sparkling water was marked in THREE different languages. Only a Brit would have a problem reading it 🤣🤣🤣 My question for you about bike travel is: Why don't you learn a bit of the languages before you go on a travel like this? Besides your lacking language skills you seem capable enough. I don't see any reason why you should not reach Istanbul. Pick up some language skills on your way. My girlfriend and I went camping in Germany, France and Switzerland for the first time in 1979 on my Suzuki GT550. Great times. Ride safe!
Haha I don’t know how I keep getting it wrong with the sparkling water, it’s a common theme throughout this trip 😂 but yes, I should learn the words “sparkling water” in all languages and then I should be okay - maybe… 😂 Funny you say that actually, I decided when I was younger that I would learn Japanese and Korean - I can speak a little Japanese and I can read and write Korean… Sadly they never come in use in Europe haha! I do speak a little Spanish, but I’ve never been great at reading it (I have to cover my back because this is where you’ll say it was written in Spanish! 😂) Still, I’m so early in my biking career still I’m sure I have the time! Until I reach Japan on my bike all my skills will be useless haha! One day I’ll get there… Camping in Europe on a bike is such a dreamy trip, I can’t wait for summer to arrive once more. Thanks for commenting - it made me smile :) have a good holiday and happy new year! 🥳

Hopefully go for my DAS in the Summer, and next year plan my wee adventure 😁 Quite fancy biking over to Italy
Great video, Switzerland is a very expensive country, but I guess that is the price for beauty :-).
Yeah for sure :) I’ve never found a way to do it on the cheap side sadly!
As always, top quality content from your endeavour!
I really can't wait for the episode where you pass from Greece, my home country! :D
Thank you!! Haha yeah I think it’s going to be around episode 7/8 :)
Really enjoyed it, you make travel feel attainable by all.
Thanks dude & thanks for joining the live chat 🙏🏻🌸😎
I don’t think I’ll ever have the confidence to do a trip like this on my own. You’re amazing to me.
Tysm, but you won’t know until you try it 🙏🏻❤️ I always get mega anxiety before the trip but when I start the trip everything falls in place 🗺️

Hey! How's it going 😊
@@MotoWaifu I like your videos i subscribed :)) i hope for more 😃😃
Thank you very much! I actually make it to Romania on this trip so keep your eyes out! It was one of my favourite countries to ride :)))
do they sell pink MT's or is it custom made?
btw for me you can leave those riding part in normal speed, nice views, good sound - very enjoyable
haha I wish! It is custom made :) Ah that's good feedback, I've had a few say this now :)
France A roads are brilliant
Agreed! 😄
Coming to Istanbul is the best. But we would like Turkish subtitles. 😂🎉❤

Nope, 100% not - I have almost zero common sense. XD Thank you, I will look out for that one next time! :D

Question.. I believe you've had this bike for 5 years now. How many miles have you covered in that time? And have you had any issues?
No issues :) except the one in my most recent video but it’s really not that bad! I’ve done just under 70,000miles :)
@@MotoWaifu wow go yamaha. I bet everyone of them miles gave you smiles.
