I'm actually forced into thinking about leaving Florida. I live in Lee County. The only semi affordable rents are in the middle of nowhere and you'd have to drive over an hr or maybe 2-3 hrs just to get to a job. The prices of rent and homes are way over inflated. They're building all these apt complexes with a minimum rent of $1800 a month. That's not affordable for most. Then they wonder why most employers are shorthanded. They cannot for the most part afford to pay their employees the wages they need to not only pay those rents, but qualify for them as well. I work for a private company and make $19 an hr. Still isn't enough.

If you’re thinking about moving to SWFL don’t do it until prices go down in a couple years or unless you plan on building new construction, there’s way too many realtors and investors here now trying to over sell the market and their desperate and will sell you covered up junk, especially homes damaged by hurricane Ian, don’t be fooled by the slight of hand from the most of these soulless people.

Biggest issue my wife and I have seen over the last few years is that people aren’t even considering VA loans.
