    Smiles per miles is what I say. Haven't regretted the soft top. Though a hard top works better for camping.

      I will miss the open air. I will not miss being so absurdly packed in with gear that nobody can move. I plan to post a follow-up video to this also showing off a TrailRax roof rack and how well it works with this top.

    Hi Tommy - a couple of questions - you pointed out an opening for a rear wiper blade. Is Turn planning on offering one? Also, the interior latches look weak - how are they holding up? - thank you and nice review.

    Hey buddy! I see you service your Bronco at Gosch Ford! I bought my Bronco at Hemet Gosch.

    • @dorknerd
      @dorknerd  5 месяцев назад

      That's correct. The team at Gosch (now Aaron) has been very good to me. They did not charge ADM during the initial ordering fiascos, service has been 100% reliable and quick. Josh their fleet manager did such a good job with the Bronco we also picked up an Explorer for the family. I may be stopping there today to schedule an oil change, and possible diff/tcase fluids as well, but I think maybe I should just learn to do those myself.

      I just dropped off my 2022 hybrid maverick with Phil at service department. Steering wheel, and brake pedal creaking like a 20 year old car! Alexa and Matt helped me with both my Broncos. I have a 4 door Badlands and a 2 door base with automatic transmission!

    Noticeably quieter in the video!

      Yes it is!! I rode up from San Diego to Newport Beach in the rain the other day and I didn’t have to move the volume past 12. I do have the kicker key amplifier inline tho for reference. Normally with the soft top I would have the volume at 16 and now most of the time it’s at 9 or 10

    Seemed much quieter with the new top. Do all the new Apple Watches have a decibel meter?

    • @dorknerd
      @dorknerd  3 месяца назад

      Yes, it's in the "noise" app. You can set alerts to notify you if you're in a loud environment.

    Nice looking top my only concern is that those front latches don’t look very robust like my factory latches on my Bronco but hopefully I’m wrong and they will last… by the way nice looking rig..

      They do look quite simple and you’re right, time will tell. I need to adjust mine already as the seals have softened. I plan to do it just one turn. It’s supposed to be firm but don’t crush it.

      They work very well, and pull at an angle with spring tension. They don't look as classy, but they do the job and are mostly out of sight and out of mind.

    I'm now convinced to buy the top from Ford, I don't like the looks of this one especially next to the factory one. Then there's the lack of versatility with only 2 pieces, and those latches and hinges look cheap and it appears the screws will loosen and the holes will be stripped. Thanks for the review, this was a big help in my decision.

    • @dorknerd
      @dorknerd  3 месяца назад

      Good luck! I don't really intend to take my targa off like basically ever so the latches are kind of irrelevant to me as long as they function. I do prefer the slight slant of this to the square one. Ford recently announced that early 2021 buyers would be able to buy a MIC top through the accessories department, but its invitation only for now, one per customer. It will be about 6K so $1000 more than the Turn solution. I'll be posting a follow-up to this video especially now that I have a TrailRax roof rack mounted to it.

      I can understand about wanting the extra modularity, but man I'm at a loss how you think the OEM looks better. Unlike the others including the OEM, the TOR is made as a single unit (top, bottom, and sides), so you don't have the extra seams to rattle and leak. This is also an advantage to not having the rear removable panel.

    • @ds6224

      @@mark5862 Looks are subjective, the MIC 2, to me, appears more heavy duty and I like the boxier look without the angle in the back

      @@dorknerd I spoke to a Ford Accessories rep, the invitations have already gone out to 2021 buyers, 2022's will be getting theirs soon and then 2023. The cost is $4995 plus $300 for dealer delivery and installation.

    Looks decent but those latches are absurdly inadequate. I wouldn’t trust those for a second.

    • @dorknerd
      @dorknerd  3 месяца назад

      Yeah they look flimsy to me too. They haven’t budged. I’ve had to tighten them once as the seals have softened a bit.

    • @mark5862
      @mark5862 3 месяца назад +1

      They function very well. The fact they have spring tension and are adjustable is a benefit.

      @@mark5862 I agree, I'm having no issues with them. I've removed the targa 3-4 times now, but now that the TrailRax is in place I doubt I'll touch them again anytime soon.
