Awesome series of tutorials and reviews for M-Audio Oxygen controllers! Thanks to you, I got up and running with my controller! Keep making these quality videos!
Douglas, I just found you looking how best to máster my newest gear, the m-audio oxy pro49, and I appreciate your taking your time to teach us all. May the Universe continue to bless you 10-fold. I am now learning of the newest enhancements and abilities to software I once helped develop (early 80s.) It has come a long way. I'm looking forward to putting that which I studied to these new controls, virtual instruments, etc. To have the beloved ARPs, Moogs, M1Korg, Alchemy, DX7, RHODES, Steinway Full Grands, Wurlizer organ, all again is more than exciting. Everything we've ever wished for has become the norm. Now, to learn it. in the last few years I've been away, (mind you I've have the ProTools version 7 with the external Di box, and an Avid account requiring keys. I have two.) I am only now; having acquired an M1 Air 5, re-learning that which I once taught. I am using the Tascam DP24SD Multi-track, with studio outs going to to a set of Presonus Eris E4.5 monitors. On the other side, I have the oxypro49 connected to a scarlett focusrite DI box feeding into the iPadAir 5. For this question, I want to concentrate on the connection from the oxypro49 to the multitrack. I would like to record on the multitrack using the virtual sounds found on any daw. I have been using logic, Cubases 3, FL Studio, GarageBand. I even tried Band Lab but I need to spend many more hours trying to figure them all out. How do I use the sounds from the DAWS to record onto the Tascam, mix it down and transfer it to the daw? Thank you.
Just wanna say thanks! Great review, great vibes. I’m working on become more professional at what I do and this was very helpful: my music project is called Wolflane and soon will be making music using what I learned here
When you are asked for your activation code to activate your instruments or other software, the activation code is the same one as came with your M-audio device. Just go into your M-audio account, copy and past your accounts code, into your downloaded software.
Seems like a fine entry level instrument for those who want to start doing small things like music arrangements or complements. Although I have to say I'd pretty much prefer the Oxygen Pro 49 - the extra faders and two more octaves certainly provide more versatility; I wouldn't see myself going farther than that model, TBH.
Thanks for this. I have an Oxygen pro 61 I am trying to better understand. My question is probably silly for a pro which I am not. What should all the settings be on the OP when you're assigning buttons? Thanks again.
Thank you for your videos, they helped me explore the keyboard more efficiently; I have the 49 keys. I'm trying to figure out how to change the sounds within the vst by using a knob, encoder or button on the keyboard. If I right-click the drop-down box for the different sounds, there is no midi learn option. Is this done by something other than cc messages?
Thankx for informative video! Have you mapped OPro in the Native Instrument stable? To be spcific: Komplete Start....if you have please share same...I could not get it to 'learn' in Kontakt Player or Komplete Kontrol...
I’m not sure but from what I found it “learns” better when set to preset mode- not daw mode. I got it working well on a default user patch (on mine started around preset 9)- can’t say specifically for Kontakt or Komplete.
I’ve watched several of your videos and you seem to be an expert on this board. Can you please tell me how to turn off the ridiculous light show it gives after it has set idle for awhile? I can’t find an answer anywhere, and I can’t have that onstage during a professional performance.
I have not found an answer to that either. I used some leftover tint film with UV and placed it over the distracting eyesore.b it works and even better in the sun when you play outdoors during the day. It stops the glare. 🎉🎉🎉 Hope this helps.
Thankyou for this great tutorial. I am using the Oxygen Pro Mini. With AUM mostly. I does not bother me there are not any iOS daw setups.I can program what I need. That being said it would be wonderful if someone would come up with a template for the new Loopy Pro. I have not bought Loopy Pro yet but a template already made for the Oxygen Pro Mini would push me to pull the trigger 😎🎶
After registering my M Audio Oxygen Pro, I am unable to download the Software. It keeps telling me "403 - Forbidden" whilst I am connected. Could you please provide a link for Downloading for both WIndows and Mac Os. I have both
Love it - You make it look so easy! Thinking about buying the Pro mini as a starter system - Is there something better out there as a starter please or is the Pro mini about as good as it gets without spending big bucks? Thank you.
I just got the Oxygen Pro Mini and, without a doubt, it's the most jam packed with features out of any other controller in its bracket. Look up reviews about it and you'll see users mainly agree on that. Definitely get one--you won't regret it!
@@DSoundman Thank you very much for your reply & opinion - On that basis we will now buy one in the next week or so... We appreciate all that you are doing on your channel. Best wishes from the UK!
@@Ballaplaya1791 Thank you very much for the heads-up! Getting a very positive opinion from DSoundman & someone like you that has only just bought one gives us even more confidence to buy one - It's appreciated!
You should have spent more time showing us on the controller how you change the CC number on each control. I spent more time demonstrating how you play the keyboard and the various sounds on the plugins. The heading of your topic is deceptive.

These videos are helping with the learning curve so much! Thanks dude!

Great video.. I need the name of the studio monitor behind you
Hey there! Do you know how to set an output volume for the Oxygen pro when connecting it to another keyboard?
Вчера заказал себе такую клавиатуру в интернет магазине. Спасибо за видео. Надеюсь, что мне помогут ваши уроки в освоении инструмента. Удачи!

I haven’t tried that, but I have Komplete Ultimate, so I’ll give it a try and see if I can get it.

Does the hammer 88 pro mimic the feel of an upright or a grand
In my opinion, a grand.
Is there any issue with Mac OS Big Sur?
How do I record sound
Looking at the pro mini does it come with pree loaded sounds if i dont want to always add the computer ? Already have to much running at once lol
From my understanding the Oxygen Pro line is all midi controllers and none have internal sound processing. Just midi signal.
Does the keyboard work with Logic Pro?
