Loved the details. What a lovely piece. I appreciate that you talk through the process and show realistic time. So often videos are too quick and the viewer does not have any sense of timing.. Keep them coming!!
Thank you so much for your comment it’s always difficult to get the balance of what to keep in a video on what’s got out and I know that I talk and awful lot but I’m hoping that is useful content… once again thank you so much for your lovely comment catch you on the next one 😊
I’ve sat here watching your hand painting tutorial with awe.. oh my goodness I’m speechless. Such a thoughtful video with you talking this through each and every step. 🥰
I love the idea of taking a newer plain piece and making it look like you’ve found it in Grandma’s house and worthy of passing down the generations. That’s what I see and I’m so drawn to that look.
Very well done! I love the finished product. I’m glad I watched. Having never painted a piece of furniture, I would not have thought to blend different colors in random places for my first coat. I keep learning from your videos. Thank you!
Oh, Jonathon....I'm so glad you used the dark wax. It was lovely but it didn't have the depth it needed until you used the dark. Of course, I love the old grungy, aged look anyway so THAT makes ME happy! And those berries. Wow. On camera at least, they look like glistening red beads...in a good way, like they simply pop off the surface! Love watching you work.
Jonathan, I am gobsmacked by your talent and graciousness to share your art with us. Please excuse my ignorance, but can latex be used as well as chalk paint? I have several pieces I would like to refresh/restore and would like to use some paints that I have. Thank you and I will be watching🤩💐
As always you create something beautiful 😻 I can see a cabinet on the wall behind you. Do you have a tutorial on how you make that industrial style? A other thing is, I have found a dresser who have a Chinese style. I will paint it in a deep red color. Do you have a suggestion for which to use? Thanks for all your sharing 😀👏👏 I absolutely LOVE your new house and what you are doing with it 😻 Xx Tina- Denmark 🇩🇰 👩🏻🎨
For a deep red I would use Annie Sloan burgundy mixed with Emperor silk I think that colour combination is wonderful and I do have modern industrial roster I hope that the cabinet lights behind me I can’t remember without looking where is ruclips.net/video/o6y6mHnXtXU/видео.html
Love your work..so creative. I have a question about the French carved door behind your work area… What Colours did you use to paint the Louis door? Keep giving us your creations. Sharon M
Wonderful! This was such a delightful look at using ASCP for decorating a piece. I loved how you used the white wax to age and knock back the actual monogram. I learned how to use a wash from you and love love ❤ it! Off topic a bit.....the blue piece behind, can you tell me the color or color combo of the under coat? It's stunning! I believe my bed frame wants to have this look. It also appears that you used a lighter color of blue for the wash(?). Thank you so much for the excellent teaching moments that you so generously share!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment really appreciate it and the piece that sits behind me in this video may look a little different in reality I think the video has maybe changed the colour a little…. The colours that I used on this was graphite all over and then a colour wash of Louis blue the idea was to try and get it looked a little bit like zinc x
@@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove oh my! I would never have guessed those colors. I bet its just stunning in person. Still, just seeing what I THOUGHT was a blue gives me an idea of what I'd like. Thank you so much Jonathon!
One thing that you could do is do your base coat to a piece of furniture then use lacquer to seal it down do your pencil image and then if you make a mistake with the paint you could always remove with a wet wipe and redo it until you get the perfect outcome once all dried wax over the top it’s a little bit of a fail safe
This is a wonderful tutorial :D, and so satisfing to watch. I painted some buterflies recently with chalk paint and it is chalenging but the satisfaction is great at the end .
Yes if you meaning from the colour wash it’s wet with a watered-down paint and if it’s when I’m knocking the paint work with the end of the brush then that would be no just really bruising the paint work I hope this covers the answer 🤔😩😀
😬😩😩 oh dear I know that I talk quite a lot and make very tutorials if I said to you this was actually edited to make it shorter you probably wouldn’t believe me Super sorry I was just part of a training school that I once had and I’ve re-purpose the long video and of course captions good shout thank you for your feedback ❤️🙏
