Just for everyone's information, MD5 is not an encryption algorithm. It is a weak hashing algorithm. As with any application or service, don't provide any more information than necessary and always use unique passwords for each service or application.
Yes, it is not safe to directly encrypt the password with MD5. MD5 password cracking libraries have already appeared on the Internet, and simple passwords can be easily cracked. The odmaster team generates a random salt for each user, so that there is no repeated salt value among users. In this way, after the same password is encrypted, different salt and hash values will be obtained each time, and the standard password library no longer exists.
I love TIDRadio, but as a security architect by trade, they are not secure by any means even just by flipping to HTTPS. I wish they would really consult the community so we can help them bring us better radio technology!!!
One of our group members is an IT security guy and was telling me about some issues he ran across last week while using one of their products. VERY VERY CONCERNING STUFF!
Appreciate all the great content. Congratulations to all the winners.
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations to the lucky winners! And I still wish Tidradio would give you the option to op out of the social media component.
100% agreed. I signed up but have no desire to use it whatsoever!

Great info!!! I was just passing along the info they provided and glad for viewers like you who can clarify these things.

Congrats to the winners. Glad to see no expense was spared for the acquisition of the high tech winner selector. 🤣
🤣🤣🤣 that 5.11 bag wasn't cheap!
I didn't realize private subscription was even a thing. I feel foolish now, hahaha. Fixed it, though!
