You can still ride behind 611. NS is hosting more 611 excursions next year in NC and southern VA. It seems that NS isn't completely done with steam. Wick is now at Amtrak. It was his idea to bring steam back to NS. I rode two 765 trips in PA, and 611 in Manassas, VA this year.
Seeing live steam in person is something else! Riding it is even better.
I've ridden inside 4501 before.
I rode the 4501 from Rome, Ga to Chattanooga in 1976. I was 9 years old. I’ll never forget that day. I can still smell that smoke.

You can ride behind 4501 and 630 on TVRM from Grand Junction Station on various length excursions, some into Georgia on a short line.
