They do a lot of weekend events there including Goth weekend twice a year in April and end of October. I have been to several and they are brilliant just to sit on a bench and see all the amazing outfits.
I remember visiting the Folk festival, parking up in my 2CV and camping next to St Marys Church (and cemetery) wall no charge? the public toilet there being open and maintained 24 hours a day. walking down the199 steps to listen to folk music! Its not the same these days!
I'm going there a week on Monday and I can't wait, went as a kid so I'm excited to go back, such a stunning little seaside resort and the scenery looks beautiful.
the whitby people will not like it most of the best places missed out and i thought it was pathetic really and it really needs a commentary and if you had gone to the railway station you could have some steam train footage as well the east side has a lot to offer nice shops quaint yards and houses, next time take a local a thumbs down from me.
What a terrible video! I love whitby and have a caravan for the season just outside the town. The video starts with the WORST part of Whitby, I never got passed the first street as it was totally boring and does not show Whitby in a good light. No doubt the better parts are later on but I got so bored with it I switched it off - is is absolutely appalling, a disgrace!
