I was expecting Caraxes to swoop in at the end, not another dragon.
Hey Charlie, a cool nod to the future that you didn't mentioned is when in the beginning of the eps, Rhaenyra says that she don't want to participate in the hunt as the "boars squeal like children when they're being slaughtered", so the boar that attacks her is actually the new children attacking her position and even though she protested at first, she sure didn't seem to mind slaughtering it/them when attacked
Ooooooooo... !!
Good spotting dude...👍
Edit : Now I remember that it was Aegon 2nd who betrayed and killed Rhaenyra in the books. (Yupppp, his baby brother who is shown in the beginning of the episode.) Is this foreshadowing the upcoming story, that maybe this time Rhaenyra is the one who kills him when he backstabs her?
I like that symbolism. Nice catch!
That’s a great take 💯 kuz it definitely gets real as da story goes
Nice 😊

Matt Smith is KILLING it as Daemon Targaryen!
Literally or metaphorically lol?

I LOVE him as Daemon!!

I think you can also read into the rotting finger literally, that the hand of the king is rotten, as in his actual hand, and Otto

Anybody else notice the Seasmoke reference in the battle? During the battle and before Crabfeeder kept looking up to see if the dragons had come but to no success. Then out of no where Seasmoke emerges from the cloud line and from the mist. He got his name from his ability to blend with the morning mist from the sea which is why nobody was able to see him. This also would explain why Caraxes wasn’t in the battle.
Daemon's fake surrender plan wouldn't have worked with Caraxes. thats why he rowed over in a boat. And then he drew them out of the caves. Very risky, and without his plot armor would have had about 20 arrows in him lol.

That King in real life was Henry the first of England. He got the barons to swear loyalty to his daughter Matilda but when Henry died the barons supported the Kings sister's son to become King Stephen the first. This kicked off the anarchy civil war until Stephen died and Matilda's son became Henry the second.

I got major Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen vibes when Daemon was surrounded by the enemy while raising his sword and standing his ground, I’m loving the parallels.
That’s exactly what I thought and said to my wife when we watched the episode!!
yeah man i’m thinking that the closest got comparisons for daemon are jon/aegon and jaime
I also see a lot of Jon’s fighting style in Daemon too in the hand to hand sword combat, I swear some of the moves he does look the exact same as Jon’s
i feel thats a reach
Damons stand off was cringey, nothing compares to the chills watching Jon snow draw long claw was beautifully scary
Viserys using the Lannister spear to kill the stag was a pretty interesting foreshadowing. Robert Baratheon's death in GOT (at the hands of a Lannister, Cersei), and how intertwined these houses were during the time of the rebellion and see the end of the Targaryens.
It's not foreshadowing if it's written afterwards.
@@chrislueras7014 right!
It is also a foreshadowing of how the last Targaryen king, the Mad King was also killed by a Lannister.
@@chrislueras7014 It's still foreshadowing and event that will happen in the future.
I wouldn't call it foreshadowing, maybe symbolic or parallelism. Nothing about that hunt determined Robert's fate.
When viserys says “I’ve wavered before” he’s not talking about the bastard. He’s talking about whether or not he’s going to keep rhaenyra as heir. That why he says “I swear to you now, on your mothers memory. You will not be supplanted.” Immediately afterward. It’s quite obvious.
Yep
Agreed
I thought the same, refferring to him doubting at the name day party
Yup! Thank you!
Loved Rhaenyra having the minstrel play the same sad song over and over. Felt like a nod to emo teens telling Alexa/Google to “play it again” while feeling sorry for themselves. Then she defiantly wants him to keep playing when her new step Mom walks up to speak to her. “Did I say to stop?” Loved it! 😃
Yeah it was such a teenage rebel moment!!! Loved it! Only Alexa is an actual person and doesn't know wth to do.
@@julivee9505 what are you talking about?
Emo teens, you are clearly not old enough to remember when artists would release singles in tapes and that's all way had. One song. I was recently staying at a rented cabin with one of those and it was ACDC listen to the money song. So I heard that some like 30 times over the weekend :)
@@mjean6762 she is clearly comparing the minstrel to Alexa.
@@mjean6762 dont comprehend too well eh?
I think when Viserys said he “wavered before” he meant about his decision on keeping her his heir. It wasn’t until the hunt when he came across the brown stag instead of the white that he stopped wavering.
I agree
This seemed pretty obvious to me also. He was specifically talking about naming her heir when he says he waivered before.
It makes no sense for him to be talking about a random bastard in that moment to me at least.
This is what thought too. Idk what Charlie even said. He was clearly speaking about her remaining his heir.
Yeah I got the same interpretation. I think some of the confusion might be because Viserys 1. Was also talking about how much he loved his first wife and 2. Is paralleling Ned Stark in a lot of ways: an honorable man with much power who probably won’t live long in a very cutthroat world
Yah, he was clearly talking about her as heir because that is the biggest issue of the whole episode
16:14 I think what's actually going on there is that Daemon agrees to the reckless plan specifically to try and end the war *before* any of Viserys' support can arrive. Daemon wants the glory for himself, and he certainly doesn't want to be seen as having to get bailed out by his brother. Daemon is the only one to actually read the letter, so he's the only one who knows help is coming, and he beats up the messenger so he can't tell anyone else. Daemon then agrees to the plan the Velaryons had been discussing earlier, to be the bait to lure Crabfeeder and all of his forces out of the caves, so he'll either win the war and accompanying glory before Viserys' help arrives, or die gloriously and not have to face the shame (in his mind) of needing the help.
It's not just a matter of "wanting glory for himself". It's also a way to say to his passive brother "you send troups and ask about my well being after 2 flippin' years ?? bitch we don't need your help over here". The rest was a big ass gamble.
There were multiple Messengers in the scene(rest of the people will eventually find about the content of the letter ).Daemon is simply frustrated that he was not able to defeat the crab-feeders.
@@HoneyBadgerz
I doubt those other messengers even the actual head messenger knew the contents of the message. King certainly didn't let them all know the personal msg between him and his brother, he even made sure to tell him not to put the msg in anyone's hand except Daemon probably as a measure of "for his eyes only"
He handed over the letter to Corlys' side of the table. Everyone in the table knew already.
Laenor was the one who came up with the plan. I was impressed with Laenor in this episode. What did you think about the Sea Snake's son?

Hey, I’m from the UK, and a huge history buff, been thinking all along that this has to be inspired from the first English civil war between Matilda and Stephen, known to history as The Anarchy, but what contemporaries referred to as The Shipwreck. Henry I’s son died onboard the Whiteship which sank in a drunken incident, leaving his daughter, Matilda as heir. All the lords of England and Normandy swore to support her, but as soon as Henry died they crowned his nephew, Stephen of Blois, as King. The civil war went on for decades. A really good quote from the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle is - “ while England suffered, Christ and all his saints slept”.
Very likely, yeah. The parallels are very evident.
That’s 100% correct GRRM based it on this civil war. You saved me from typing it.
Thanks for the input.
Love how Harwin being the only one smiling in awe at Rhaenyra whilst the rest look on in shock and disgust as she’s covered in blood really tells you all you need to know about him.

It was a Tormound n Bre moment... loved it

That master of complaints roast was hotter than dragon fire could ever be lmao.
loved the analogy between Daemon draging the Crabfeeder's remains out the cave and Rhaenyra coming back to the camp with the dead boar killed by her; both covered with the blood of their prey, standing proud and loud before everyone else. They belong to each other
Morality included, they don’t belong ‘together’ but they do share familial traits of pride.
Seasmoke looked more like the new line of dragons, like Drogon etc... I can't wait to see what the rest look like. I am DYING to see Sheepstealer and hopefully the other two wild dragons. They're going to be so massive! Vhaegar is the main dragon I can't wait to see though haha.. Absolute destruction LFG

Daemon doesn’t contract greyscale because the Crabfeeder never had greyscale in the book. It was just an added feature for the show.
can we take a moment and appreciate how good the actor for Viserys was this episode?
Stole every scene, absolutely *PHENOMENAL* acting
He portrays a weak king and never steals any scene, the character does not call for it and the actor has not portrayed the ability

One of the leaders in the Wars of the Roses, originally on the Yorkist side but later switching to the Lancastrian side, he was instrumental in the deposition of two kings, which led to his epithet of "Kingmaker".
Yesterday went by so damn slow. I think my favorite part of this episode was the end when he is just paddling across in the boat and starts to head toward being a living legend or a dead warrior .. also that dude getting crushed in the start was pretty badass

King “hunts” the stag when actually his followers have trapped and tied a helpless animal for him to kill. And then they applaud his weak “achievement” when he needs two tries to kill the beast even when it’s in a completely submissive mode.

I think Daemon attacked the messenger to make it seem like no aid was coming. So his men would agree with this scheme. He seemed genuinely touched that his brother still cares about him. But, like you said, he wanted to earn glory for himself.
good take, I hadn’t thought about this angle
That was my first thought when their little war council was deciding what to do. Daemon HAD to walk away from this conflict victorious. He has to be named a King of the people to have any backing in court for challenging not only Rhaenyra as heir but little Aegon and any other sons his brother has. I called it and I was right, now he's cast a doubt on his brother's leadership as the women were already doing. Let's be honest here, this conflict has been the most excitement the kingdom has seen after having a peacetime king. When there's peace people want war and when there's war people want peace.
And I took it that he was angry he NEEDED his brother's aid to win. That's why he did the 'suicidal run'. To show his big bro he wasn't needed for Daemon to succeed. A 'giving the finger' to the King. moment
Interesting theory, would his men really go along with his suicide plan if recienforcement was coming?
I hadn't thought of that but makes sense to me . It's obvious to me he loves his brother and even makes up lied to see him with that whole egg drama. But I was confused how he looked happy at the message from Viserys but then beat on that poor man. Makes sense to me now.
The crab feeder wasn’t going to put up a good enough fight to put on camera, his health was in serious decline. Greyscale was probably so advanced that it weakened him too much..he literally has the shakes whenever you see him. Poor Chragas
Yea exactly!! Thats what I thought as well, Seeing it on screen would probably be Daemon just bullying the poor man
This also makes me curious about one thing, grayscale is infectious, right? Won't daemon get it the way he was handling crabfeeder's body?
My only problem with HOTD so far is the Cole vs Daemon fight was not very well done and we should have seen crabfeeder and daemon fight because it's in the books. Even if it was a 30 second fight I think its cheapens it a bit and we should have seen daemon carve him up lol.
@@rubinakochar5343
Did you not hear when Charlie talked about that?
Greyscale yes is infectious but it has to touch you directly if I have it on my foot you won't get it by touching my shoulder or back.
As Charlie said if he did touch part of the scale with skin to skin contact they probably would've given at least a visual clue like shown it or zoomed in and/or show Daemon hiding said infection.

That was terrible and lazy lol.
I thought it was the dumbest scene in GoT so far. I wonder how they are going to top it.
What a battle, Daemon leading from the front and House Valariyon decimating the triarchy and burning them to the ground ! GOT you have been missed
it was terrible and lazy written, what a way to end an amazing episode
Lol no. People were literally saying this was better than battle of the bastards.
There’s no way
@@Srbenda126 why was is terribly written in your opinion? I thought it was the best written part. Daemon was trying to prove himself to his brother but his brother coming to send aid would mean it all meant nothing. I thought it said a lot about his character making a last ditch effort to win knowing he could die which he almost did, it meant that much to him to win. But we all have our opinions and yours is also valid
@@Dragoon-9 I was talking about the battle itself with people acting like complete morons and soldiers and dragons popping out of thin air. Same like Arya getting the teleport abbility to conveniently end the night king to move the plot because they are too lazy to write a proper coreographed battle that makes sense. But yeah, sheep will be happy with "wow a dragon".
As much as I just want to enjoy the episode and not be a party pooper, if we truly want to enjoy the coming seasons, the showmakers need to receive feedback that would make the show better. And that feedback is that this battle is indeed terribly written and we hope they know that and do better next time.
I feel Daemon put himself in a win/win situation. Having won the battle, he would be showered with praised and basked in glory, making an obvious statement that he is worth of throne. Had he lost/died in battle, he would've been considered a martyr, leaving the Crown looking weaker than it already has, inciting a massive, yet passive, revolt against the Crown from other Houses.
"I just want to make a quick mention that we haven't really seen if the king's sickness has gotten any worse." The king is missing the pinky and ring fingers on his left hand because they were cut off. I first noticed it when he had a mitt on his left hand when drinking and it felt like we really got to see more of how the king feels. The interaction between him and his daughter are well done.
You can tell it has gotten worse. It went to 2 fingers, and then those fingers had to get bad and cut off. The last time we saw him. He had 1 messed up pinky.

Rhaenyra arriving at camp covered in blood and looking fierce was epic! Kinda sad we'll be losing Milly Alcock though, she's killing it!!
Alicent is much more of a scheming backstabber in the books. But here she's more sympathetic adding more weight to the character. You almost feel sorry for her, all if them actually. Viserys, Alicent, and Rhaenyra. Just a Greek tragedy disguised as fantasy. 😔
I watched interview with Olivia Cooke and she said that show Alicent is more empathetic and grey than the book one
Don't forget the books aren't written from pov, so we have to factor in the bias of the Maester writing and the original sources he uses.
I wished she had the guts to tell her best friend Daddy Hand "suggested" she visit the King. Just a few words and there wouldn't have been a schism between the girls. As long as Alicente's father remained the Hand, there was bound to be conflict. He wanted his grandson appointed the King and no one was going to stop him.

At 9:53 where the White Stag is shown, the stag is reflected in a puddle on the ground. The puddle is somewhat in the shape of Westeros and Esos with one of the stag's reflected horns covering where the sea between Westeros and Esos would be.
I wonder if that has any significance, other than the more obvious symbolism of the Princess seeing the White Stag, or if the puddle in the shape of Westeros and Esos combined is merely coincidence?

Love the show so far, I understand that they are moving fast and jumping time significantly. But I kinda wanted the crabfeeder to be bigger villain, I thought he was going to play a bigger part. He ended up being just a building block for Daemon, who is my favorite character. Still super excited for the show, can't wait for it to be sunday again.
He was never going to be a big villain, don't know where you got that idea from.
Ousman has a point. The book material was similarly quick when Daemon went after 'CrabFeeder'. The only difference, from what I recall, is that Daemon quickly decapitates him (book) instead of cleaving his torso apart.
Loved this episode, that Master of Complaints jab is still making me laugh. Wow, you’re up early, just noticed the tone. Kudos Charlie.
I love how Daemon got hit with 4 arrows throughout the years of the wars. Shows how easy it would be to hit a dragon rider if your firing 100s of arrows at him/her.
I just want to tell you that I’ve watched a lot of breakdowns and reviews for HOTD but yours are the best .. It really help to watch it after the episode to get the full picture of everything .. thank you!
One of the things I loved about the hunt was that when Rhaenyra returns she is still sporting the boar's blood in her hair and on her clothes. She clearly is not afraid to get her hands dirty when it comes to doing what she will need to do in the upcoming episodes. I think it is also a nod to her being a better choice for the legitimate heir to the Iron Throne.
God, it’s so nice to have the GOT I adored back again every week. Excellent writing, believe character development (even though time is flying by), and more so, every scene has meaning and context, much like GOT seasons 1-4. Of course the eye candy battle scenes were brilliant as well.
It’s just so amazing having fantastic tv again with nostalgia reborn and this channel does a great job tying everything together. I learn a few things with every video you put out and want to thank you for your time & effort. Well done!

This whole series has to be based on Empress Matilda and her cousin Stephan. She was named Queen of England by her father King Henry I but her cousin Stephan claimed he was the heir and a civil war ensued for the crown. I love how Martin ties all this in to history. Really great stuff!
It just keeps getting better, what can I say.. I'm loving it. They have put in the effort and it shows.
Another Great job helping me follow the show. Thanks Charlie!!
Loved how the episode painted Daemon as a fearsome warrior because in the books he's described as the most dangerous warrior know at the time. I'm hoping to see more of that on upcoming episodes.

Another great breakdown!! I loved lady Redwyne reminding us how the realm sees Viserys & his rule & the issue with the Stepstones! With her being an ancestor of lady Olenna the queen of thorns I love how she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind even though Rhaenyra shut her down! I also like how Seasmoke looks like Daenerys’s dragons but grey
Daemon might be a complicated character but we've seen him more as a charismatic bad*ss in this show. I think this series is showing more how complex Viserys, Rhaenyra, and Alicent really are.
I really enjoyed that scene between Alicent and her father. We finally got to hear what's really her inner thoughts and feelings. I believe Alicent will be just as complex as Rhaenyra as the series progresses. Because I actually think she has a good heart.
I believe Alicent really does love Viserys and still cares about Rhaenyra. But then she wants to also please her father. It's a tough balancing act for her while still being a mother and loving and supporting her children.
It's really a terrific show so far. I thought maybe the battle scene at the end would piss off book fans who preferred earlier seasons of GOT that was slow-burning and thought it got too Hollywood blockbuster by S4. But I guess not because they seem to love it. Didn't bother them.
One of the greatest shows I have ever seen with character development was Mad Men. I think HOT D is reaching Mad Men's level. For me, the dragon scenes are cool but I'd rather have great character development and this series has at least 4 characters with so many layers.
I don't mind the quieter scenes like Rhaenyra talking to her father or Criston or Alicent talking to Viserys or her father. Those are the scenes that makes GOT/HOT D great. The dragons and battle scenes are the superficial stuff.
I agree. I thought the drama between the royals was actually more interesting than the rushed battle scene at the end. I like good battles but this one seemed like an afterthought.
Whole thing seems a bit rushed to me , maybe it’s because the time jumps but I liked the slow in depth character & story development of early GOT and how you really had to pay close attention to understand a lot of it .. this seems sort of dumbed down to me tbh .. hopefully it gets better and more in depth in the future
@@MJisAGlorifiedDemarDerozen exactly, this is some basic storytelling. None of these characters are really believable imho. I was watching got season 4 episode 6,7,8 and was like damn this is great. Then turned it to h.o.d episode 3 and was underwhelmed. How do you go 6 months from one episode, to two years in the next? Daemond looks like a spoiled child without a plan. And that ploy armor with all those arrows was comical. It’s like they are forcing us to believe his a badass. And then all the crab feeder hype, you show nothing………
Agree. Even though I liked the proposal of Otto to marry prince Aegon with Rhaenyra , in my opinion it was a good advice, surely it benefited the Hightowers but also the Realm to prevent civil war. If that happened there wouldn't have been a civil war later but all depended on Rhaenyra desire to marry Aegon.
Such a great guy yea when he has his dragon eat rhaenyra in the future lol
Thanks for the break down!!!
I'm happy Daemon is getting the recognition he deserved from the fan's for being one of the best characters from ASOIAF. Ofc I might be biased because the rogue prince have always been one of my favorites, but now when ppl mention Dany, Rhagor, or Jon we can start to see Daemon name pop up as will. Hopefully there's a blackfyre spinoff in the future so that another Daemon can be introduce to the fan's.
Wtf is ASOIAF Mellenial? Live much?
I love daemon n matt smith
@@nr4dd a song of ice and fire. What does millennials have to do with it?
@@nr4dd it’s the name of the series… how do you not know that?
The dude isn't even mentioned in the books. The real books.
What’s interesting for me is Rhaenyra’s simmering resentment towards the misogyny she’s experiencing because she’s a woman. If she was a man no one would question her right to inherit the throne. But if she was waving about pressing the issue, two important events took place, which I think will give her the strength to fight for her right to rule. One was the white stag showing himself to her. That was a clear sign from the Gods that she was favoured. Secondly, her father promising her he supported her succession. He pretty much told her to fight for her right by making intelligent decisions about gathering support and making a tactical decision about who she should wed. Clearly she takes it on board because she marries Daemon and decides to fight for the throne. I really liked how the scriptwriters cemented her belief in her right to rule despite being a woman.
Rhaenyra is based on Matilda and as a history student I can saythat it was indeed like that,Matilda was fighting for her birthright ...same thing that many men did at the time but men were often held as heroes while Matilda was called a she-wolf and a b*tch and I love that HOTD doesnt hold back...even with Rhaenyras mother they showed how unfair and brutal that kind of patriarchy was for women....something needed to change and some of the Englands and British most famous monarchs are women so it was totally crazy that women got snubbed just because they didnt have a dick:D
I also loved how Daemon's dragon used his wing to protect him from the arrows in the opening scene
Thank you for the video! And thank you to everyone commenting! I'm building a philosophy class based on HOTD and your comments are really helpful for creating a class from scratch. Please keep 'em coming. ❤
Keeping us up to date like always
I believe when Viserys expresses that he has “wavered before” he refers to rethinking his decision on making Rhaenyra his heir.
Definitely
Yeah, I thought was talking about the present situation, Aegon or Rhaenyra.
I think it's because of his decision to save the baby at the cost of his wife's life. He initially wanted to save her, but having an heir was too important for the realm, so he made a choice against his feelings and it cost him greatly, when he should have gone with his gut instinct.
Daemon's character has some similarity with Soldier Boy. Both aren't truly righteous, but they aren't downright a bad person too, and they are doing the right thing from their point of view.
Also, they both are courageous, men of action, and will do what needs to be done no matter the cost. They also are true to their words. When Daemon told Viserys that he will protect him from himself, he was telling the truth. He never was the enemy of the king, he just wants the throne, and even when he got angry on the messanger of the king in the later moments of the episode 3, it was because if now he won, the common folk won't consider his efforts in the war against crabfeeder for 3 years and would think that they won just because of the king's aid. He basically had a timer given by the messanger - To finish the war before king's aid arrived. That's why he decided to be the bait because it was the only option there. It also shows that he isn't stupid, he knew he would most probably get killed, but he still chose to be the bait. That shows his courage and his commitment to win the war to keep his valor and dignity before his soldiers intact.
Your knowledge of the characters and history are great. It's easy to overlook things or not know who is whom, so I greatly appreciate your insight. Subscribed.
Great job I’m looking forward to next recap
lesgoo, this is soo much better feelings than got season 8. thanks Charlie for yout breakdown, really appreciate it!
No problem!
Dang Charlie you a vampire you don't sleep do you I wasnt expecting a late upload at 2 in the morning but good breakdown as always
Wasn’t expecting a late upload at 2 in the morning but honestly loved that episode , but Charlie u never sleep do ya huh ? 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Thankv you for this I always enjoy your perspective!
My pleasure!
I was expecting a duel between Daemon and Crabfeeder. A bit disappointing but still a good episode.
I was surprised they cut out their actual fight
Actually the most disappointing part of the episode. Fuck, even if it wasn't even close and it was a quick slaughter, it shouldn't have happened offscreen. Thats just kind of a weird decision imo
Maybe there will be a flashback sometime at the start of the next episode.
@@nicholasnugen3904 Man, I hope so
I had to review the scene in the cave when I thought it was Drahar who came out first and dragging a soldier but surprising it was Daemon who was dragging crabfeeder's torso cut in half.
Looking forward to this 🙏🏼
It was awesome...so glad we have a show to look forward to every week.
Hi Charlie, thanks for another breakdown and Easter eggs. Love your channel
My pleasure!
The poor MESSENGER 😭😭😭😭💀
Great episode, Damon is a great fighter
Literally here every week after the episode and tbh before the episode to recap the previous and these are by far the best on RUclips for all GRRM related content and more thank you brother for the videos
Thank you so much for these breakdowns Charlie. I’ve read Fire and Blood and even then I’m having some issues keeping some of the characters and dragons straight. The specific mention of the time jumps and the lengths of them helps my partner who has some issues following non linear progression. Your work is very much appreciated, not only on House of the Dragon but on other things as well.
Rhaenyra's entry with a dead boar is 🔥🔥🔥 especially that bgm ...omg that's the evergreen scene. One can't watch it just for once.
Wow. You work fast, Charlie.
Thanks! I tried to get my House of the Dragon Episode 3 video out as fast as possible!
@@emergencyawesome Great work. I wish I had a fraction of your work ethic!
Thanks for all the reviews so far Charlie. Appreciate the time and effort you put in your content 🔥
Did anyone else notice the green screen glove scene where they forgot to edit his two fingers out? When he’s giving the scroll to the courier
It’s HOTD’s Starbucks cup moment
I’m totally & completely addicted to this show already!
Awesome!
Me, toooooo!!! 😃
Loving the nuanced performances. Rheanyra is amazing. Costuming is insane. So good.
And dialog and cgi are shit.
@@English_MoFo if you want to troll, at least try to spell correctly.
@@1mnicholson you said what you liked about it, I said what I didn't like. That's definitely not trolling.
@@English_MoFo then post it up MoFo - I don’t care about your opinion. Everybody else might though!😉
@@English_MoFo the only cgi i thought was borderline was the first dragon scene when daemon started the war and the wild boar. the stags looked awesome gave a lotr vibe.
I like that Jefferson Hall was Tyland/Jason Lannister. It seems like there is more longevity in these roles than there was in Ser Hugh of the Vale
I admire how fast and well made your videos are, Charlie! 👌
Anybody else get really sad when it's over because you got to wait 7 more days for another episode? That's how I feel I thought it was pretty damn good episode
Always
No
Laenor actually gave them the strategy Daemon used to get victory.
Love love the show they’ve been doing such an amazing job the cast the scenes everything!!
hola Charly...im a big fan of your videos! would you do one on all the dragons? saludos de 🇦🇷
Probably the best episode of Game of Thrones ever.
Yes. Of all 8 season of the original and now the 3 episode of S1 of Dragon
Wow.
Blown away! Brilliant!!
Are you trolling or genuine? Genuinely asking!
👍👍 Matt Smith is a great actor
Daemon pulling a Doc Holliday power move; going out in style be it living or dying
The episodes are getting better and better and the opening and closing were both full of exciting action and the middle packed with political intrigue. Charlie, your analysis is fantastic as usual. Thanks for keeping on top of this series. Daemon is such a badass.
*My* *Favorite* *HOT* *D* *Characters* *So* *Far*
1. Daemon 🖤 (he's winning by 31 lengths)
2. Corlys 🖤 (Daemon's biggest supporter)
3. Rhaenyra 🖤 (still my fav girl in this series)
4. Otto 💚 (love his scheming and insults!)
5. Viserys (Paddy and Milly with the best acting)
6. Alicent 💚
7. Rhaenys 🖤
8. Laenor 🖤
9. Criston 💚
10. Laena 🖤
These are my updated weekly rankings. I don't see anybody catching Daemon at #1. He's like Top Gun: Maverick. I don't think we'll see a better movie than that one for the rest of the year.
The big movers this week have been Corlys and Alicent. I really like Corlys the more episodes we see of him. For him to defend Daemon against his own brother showed some real loyalty.
Maybe Alicent really isn't that evil? That the only reason she's in this situation is because of her pimp daddy? She was supporting Rhaenyra to be Queen which surprised me.
It seems Rhaenyra is the one slowly turning into the dark side. Did you see how she killed that wild boar 🐗? She went to town with it like her uncle did at the Step Stones. Basically dyed her hair red from the boar's blood stains.
Laenor is a new addition to my top 10. Had to move his sister down to 10th since we've only seen her for like 2 minutes so far. But Laena will eventually move up once we start seeing older versions of her.
Props to Paddy Considine and Milly Alcock. While Matt Smith's Daemon has been awesome, Paddy and Milly have really carried this series with their performances. No wonder Paddy gets first billing in the intro. He's been fantastic in all 3 episodes. Emma D'Arcy better bring her A-game by mid-season because Milly is killing it.
I have to say that I felt the pacing of this episode a bit all over the place. The ending was the best part of it. It was nice to see a new dragon. Awesome vids as always Charlie!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I thought the ending wasn't the best part of the episode. The first 35 minutes of the episode was awesome.
Who is the rider of the other dragon?
@@orlandohadnot6166 Laenor Velaryon, Lord Corly's son.
It was the best way to remind us of season 8 GoT and lazy writting. was an amazing episode up to the battle
I'd be really interested in a behind the scenes of how these analysis videos are made, the research, prep work. It's unbelievable how much you know about this world. Love it
Love the length of the episodes this season. Every episode feels worth the wait.
