This remains one of my favorite videos you guys have. This tug takes a beating from those waves and keeps going. I have a tugboat myself that has been refitted to give her the ability to take waves like these and keep going as well. With two years of sailing under my ownership she has yet to meet a wave at any lake to stop her, (and hopefully never will).

Thoses really are brave boats and it is amazing to watch them cope these rough seas... but two years sailing big waves is a really good statistic!! Reminds me of 1981 . Half Moon Bay. I jumped a sailboard for the very first time.... But my boom broke and I ended up climbing up onto a massive channel marker buoy. November in England so I was going to die. The RNLI crew won an award for my rescue. And I, got a good telling off from my Mum !

Und trotzdem müssen die Offshore-Versorger (die dank Rig-/ oder Tow-Master nicht immer Herr ihrer selbst sind) in seltenen Fällen auch bei extremen Bedingungen noch auf Standby bleiben, und dann heißt es Auf- und Abpendeln, aber wie Du sagst natürlich nie quer zur Welle, bis Sturm oder Master ein Einsehen haben. Wir haben uns da auch erst langsam rangetastet..ohne Crew natürlich ;-)
This reminds me of the film in black white , Where a plane crashed in the desert and the survivors had to fix a plan this is a great film. And the best thing was it was a German who designed model planes that made tham live. Great film.

Graupner -who originally produced it- took it out it's program. Just try googling for Graupner New Castle.. I wish you luck, it's really a nice and tough tug and definitely with the effort!

Hi Abdul, ...thanks a lot for your Kind words... the stable filming is achieved by using a very old-school Technic 🤣👍. It's called “using a dampened Tripod“ 😇.. hihi.. as most of the modern cameras have motion stabilizers most of the filmers do rely on them... but a solid tripod still keeps everything calm in it's best 👍. And about the music,.. actually three songs. They are from an online music library called epidemic sounds. The first one “Keeping the Passion“ is combined with the second “Dreams“ is in the beginning and the end... and the one in the middle is “Keeping the fight going“ ... Best wishes!
Ein Spitzenvideo ! Einfach herrlich wie die Wellen durchfahren werden und über dem Deckshaus gebrochen auf das Deck fallen ! Und ein großes Lob an den Kameramann. Erstaunlich das bei einem so schweren Seegang die Kamera so ruhig das Schiff im Fokus halten kann. M.f.G.
Hi Wolf, nein, es handelt sich hierbei zwar um ein Modell - es ist immerhin ein RC Modellbau Kanal - aber nicht um eine Computer-Animation! Das Modell war wirklich da draussen und hat sich gleich zwei Tage lang durch die Wellen gekämpft... ausserdem wurde dieses Modellschiff speziell für diesen Film vorbereitet, damit es wasserdicht ist, genug Leistung hat und einen sehr niedrigen Schwerpunkt besitzt. Also keine Computeranimation.... 😋

Hallo Wolf Schultze,... ganz so aufwändig war es in unserem Fall nicht. Das Modellboot so zu bauen, dass es wasserdicht und sturmfest ist, beruht auf Erfahrungswerten. Der Schwerpunkt lässt sich im Schwimmingpool oder gar der Badewanne bestimmen. Fehlt also nur noch ein stürmischer Tag an einem See mit einer langen, gut zugänglichen, flach aufsteigenden Uferzone und natürlich genug Anlauffläche damit sich auch größere Wellen bilden können. Wenn dann der Wind aus der richtigen Richtung mit der nötigen Stärke kommt, heißt es Kamera und Modell holen und los... nicht einfach aber auch nicht extrem. Yes, that's a good addition... luckily on this Newcastle the Motor is powerful enough to not need any cooling whatsoever... and the boat is watertight. BUT I still have a pump inside... just in case this changes without previously announcement 😇👍🌊🚢🎥

Absolut Geil. Das ist ein R/C Schlepper wie ich ihn liebe. Kein so ein Schönwetterdampfer. Mit dem Pott muss das richtig Laune Machen. Und es ist ein Genuss da zuzuschauen wie der sich durch die schwere See kämpft. Mach weiter so.

Du wirst es bestimmt nicht bereuen, das Fahren bei Sturm ist noch einmal eine ganz andere Qualität...schon fast eine richtige Herausforderung... und zumindest ich strahlte nach so einer Fahrt dann noch Tage über das ganze Gesicht ;-), sagt zumindest meine bessere Hälfte.

This remains one of my favorite videos you guys have. This tug takes a beating from those waves and keeps going. I have a tugboat myself that has been refitted to give her the ability to take waves like these and keep going as well. With two years of sailing under my ownership she has yet to meet a wave at any lake to stop her, (and hopefully never will).

Reminds me of 1981 . Half Moon Bay. I jumped a sailboard for the very first time.... But my boom broke and I ended up climbing up onto a massive channel marker buoy. November in England so I was going to die. The RNLI crew won an award for my rescue. And I, got a good telling off from my Mum !

Und trotzdem müssen die Offshore-Versorger (die dank Rig-/ oder Tow-Master nicht immer Herr ihrer selbst sind) in seltenen Fällen auch bei extremen Bedingungen noch auf Standby bleiben, und dann heißt es Auf- und Abpendeln, aber wie Du sagst natürlich nie quer zur Welle, bis Sturm oder Master ein Einsehen haben. Wir haben uns da auch erst langsam rangetastet..ohne Crew natürlich ;-)

This reminds me of the film in black white , Where a plane crashed in the desert and the survivors had to fix a plan this is a great film. And the best thing was it was a German who designed model planes that made tham live. Great film.

Hi Abdul, ...thanks a lot for your Kind words... the stable filming is achieved by using a very old-school Technic 🤣👍. It's called “using a dampened Tripod“ 😇.. hihi.. as most of the modern cameras have motion stabilizers most of the filmers do rely on them... but a solid tripod still keeps everything calm in it's best 👍.
And about the music,.. actually three songs. They are from an online music library called epidemic sounds. The first one “Keeping the Passion“ is combined with the second “Dreams“ is in the beginning and the end... and the one in the middle is “Keeping the fight going“ ...

Hi Wolf, nein, es handelt sich hierbei zwar um ein Modell - es ist immerhin ein RC Modellbau Kanal - aber nicht um eine Computer-Animation! Das Modell war wirklich da draussen und hat sich gleich zwei Tage lang durch die Wellen gekämpft... ausserdem wurde dieses Modellschiff speziell für diesen Film vorbereitet, damit es wasserdicht ist, genug Leistung hat und einen sehr niedrigen Schwerpunkt besitzt.
Also keine Computeranimation.... 😋

Hallo Wolf Schultze,... ganz so aufwändig war es in unserem Fall nicht. Das Modellboot so zu bauen, dass es wasserdicht und sturmfest ist, beruht auf Erfahrungswerten. Der Schwerpunkt lässt sich im Schwimmingpool oder gar der Badewanne bestimmen.
Fehlt also nur noch ein stürmischer Tag an einem See mit einer langen, gut zugänglichen, flach aufsteigenden Uferzone und natürlich genug Anlauffläche damit sich auch größere Wellen bilden können.
Wenn dann der Wind aus der richtigen Richtung mit der nötigen Stärke kommt, heißt es Kamera und Modell holen und los... nicht einfach aber auch nicht extrem.

Yes, that's a good addition... luckily on this Newcastle the Motor is powerful enough to not need any cooling whatsoever... and the boat is watertight. BUT I still have a pump inside... just in case this changes without previously announcement 😇👍🌊🚢🎥

Absolut Geil. Das ist ein R/C Schlepper wie ich ihn liebe. Kein so ein Schönwetterdampfer. Mit dem Pott muss das richtig Laune Machen. Und es ist ein Genuss da zuzuschauen wie der sich durch die schwere See kämpft. Mach weiter so.

Yep... a bit too much power... but I must admit, I do prefer having a bit more power to turn the bow into the waves then having a too small motor and going on the beach through the breakers.... and as we did manoever right next to the beach it was definitely a good feeling :-)

Du wirst es bestimmt nicht bereuen, das Fahren bei Sturm ist noch einmal eine ganz andere Qualität...schon fast eine richtige Herausforderung... und zumindest ich strahlte nach so einer Fahrt dann noch Tage über das ganze Gesicht ;-), sagt zumindest meine bessere Hälfte.
