Creating perfect foam edges and bevels with the Dremel / rotary tool can be quite tricky. So here are a few handy tips on how to become a Dremel master quickly! I tried to show you the most difficult applications, which are clean beveled edges, raised ornaments and sharp corners. In addition, I mostly work on maximum speed with fast and straight moves over my EVA foam. Really hope this video is helpful! Let me know if you have any questions!

Please take kamuis words serious regarding safety. My stepfather worked without a mask for years and suffers from asthma now. Another person had his dremel drum snapped and it would have flown right into his eye if it wasn't for his safety goggles, which stopped the projectile.

Paying the money for a good respirator is worth it, plus make sure you have good ventilation for the fumes www.allenamis.com/eva-foam-safety-tips/ just like a stormtrooper helmet, respirators only filter out particulates, not fumes.

I need to leave a comment here because of how helpful this was for me. I was smoothing an EVA sword blade with my dremel, and I would run it both ways over the blade leaving me with with a complete uneven surface. As soon as I watched this video and tried out this technique, which I was skeptical about, I was surprised to see how smooth the blade had become. Thank you very much for all your videos, and keep up with the wonderful job you guys do!

I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.

Thank you for the video. I had a dremel for a long time. I did had some issues with it on the foam getting those rough edges. I tried it again today for a part of my Mandulorian armor piece. Still have the problem. then i did tried the one direction before watching the video. It worked a bit. Then I decided to watch your video on how to work the dremel and see if i was doing it correctly. It is fun to have the tool. I will for sure try other tips on the scrap foams I have. Very good safety instructions , but you did miss one item .
Hearing protection . With all of the machines running especially the Drimel . The Drimel's higher pitch motor can cause a ringing in your ears after long use .
I've been using the Drimel and other small power tools for most of my life and I have a form of tendonitis from NOT using ear plugs or padded sound dampeners like what you see at an enclosed pistol range .

HAHAHA the censor at 3:50 caught me off guard, but in all seriousness, the foam filter is a great idea. Loved the video!

Thanks Svetlana, I've been in a creative rut for about 10 years. I got so disheartened with doing anything creative after having my confidence destroyed while doing my art GSCE that I have barely picked up a pencil. I've watched your videos and bought your books and I have just passed the planning stage of a cosplay I really want to do, onward to foam sanding next! 🥰

In place of a dremel I use an old electric nail file from school lol it does the same thing basically except you can switch the direction the bit rotates with a switch and it has a foot pedal you can use instead of the on off switch. It's really a great slim option, plus carbide nail bits are amazing!
