  • In this video I am shooting them on my new 24" Christensen Arms Ridgeline chambered in .280 Ackley Improved. It has a 1:9" twist carbon fiber wrapped barrel. It is running an older Zeiss Conquest MC 3-12x56 30mm FFP scope, that's sitting in a set of Seekins Precision rings, and mounted on an EGW HD base.
I'm taming it down with my new Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen-L (7.62 version). It iis a 9" long x 1.625" OD suppressor made of solid titanium and weighting a mere 12.4 oz without a mount. It has HUB 1.375x24 universal mount threads to allow you to use just about any mounting system you want/already have. It is rated for LIMITED full-auto usage up to 800ºF. It is rated for up to .300 RUM/Norma Mag, and it does have certain barrel length restrictions for certain cartridges that are listed on their website. And, according to their website, it was tested to be a hearing-safe 130 dB on a 16” .308 Win, with a BK 2209 sound meter.
I am doing some load development for it at the moment using Nosler .280 Ackley Improved brass, Berger 168 VLDs, IMR 7977 powder, and CCI 200 LR primers. So far, I am getting several sub-1/2 MOA 3-shot groups in a certain velocity node, which shows promise for final development. Once I nail down my final load, I will do some chronograph testing to find out what my actual velocities are to build my dope chart.
IMO, this gun with this suppressor is hearing safe, and will make a fine lightweight hunting setup. While it is very light for what it is, It is a bit on the long side with a 24" barrel and a 9" can. But if you're packing in, you can carry the suppressor in your pack, and then put it on the gun when you get to your stand. Or, if you're like me, you hunt in a shooting house over open fields, so most of the walk in and out is an open logging road, so OAL length isn't a big deal.
My next video, I will be testing my Dead Air Nomad-LT with the Otter Creek ZR0-DTA DT mount on this rifle. It's weighs the same as the Hydrogen-L suppressor.
I get all of my suppressors, tax stamps, and trusts through Silencer Shop.

Thanks! I'm a huge Ackley guy. I have several customs with Ackley chambers. I also have a custom built .25-06 AI 40º Shoulder that was built on a stainless jeweled R700 LA. It was built to clone a Sendero SF, but then I found an original 1970's BDL Varmint walnut stock, and I decided to bed it into that instead of an HS Precision. So it has a very old-school/new school custom classic varmint rifle look to it. I'll post some videos of it suppressed someday soon. 👍🏼

@@TroyPosey ever looked into the Long Action Sherman line?
      I’m doing a .25 right now.
      He’s thinking 100fps over 25/06 AI.!
      I’ll know soon

@@philrizzo Oh yeah, I've known Rich Sherman for well over a decade. He's a good guy. We used to converse regularly over on LRH back before they banned me.
Next time you talk to him, tell him MudRunner2005 from Long Range Hunting says "hello". He'll remember who I am. LOL Share my YT channel with him, and tell him to subscribe. 😂
I plan on punching out my .30-06 AI 40º into a .300 Sherman someday. Probably will just end up rebuilding it with an all new barrel. The 12" twist is kind of handicapping it. But it shoots Berger 185 VLD's into 1 hole. So, I guess it's not all bad.
