    I have two QIDI PLUS 4 from October 2024 and loving everything about them up to this point and have been extremely satisfied with them. Prints are second to none and if you are thinking about purchasing I think you should.

    Just got one yesterday based on your review. It's amazing. Never seen such a clean benchy. It has been running non stop since! My daughter is busy finding endless STLs to print. Love your work, keep up the good work.

    Great review, couldn’t agree more on the power cord thing. Even with a right angle cable that is still annoying as hell.

    What about accuracy of prints? what input shappers and suggested accel speeds does klipper suggest?

    • @honeybadger3dprintandpaint
      @honeybadger3dprintandpaint  18 дней назад +1

      so input shaper is
      [input_shaper]
      x = zv
      x = 54.2
      y = mzv
      y = 42.4
      and current acceleration speeds are 2000 mm/s Squared with a Accel to Decel of 1000 mm/s squared
      these have produced great results for me so far but i am tempted to try and push it, we always do our review with out of the box settings as thats what you would get if you bought one but now the review is done its experimenting time

    • @raptorheli2
      @raptorheli2 18 дней назад

      @honeybadger3dprintandpaint thanks for posting those. whilst it is overly simplistic, those numbers are exceptionally low for speeds but I'm not surprised. The question really is at what point is accuracy unacceptable to the user for engineering parts. I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on the q4....

  • @philvidamour3173

    What's your thoughts on the heater cover design issue where it gets blocked by the bed when printing full height? I've looked at the klipper workaround and there is also a redesigned cover available to print but requires mega expensive heat resistant filament to be used. Just curious if you think Qidi will offer an updated part or if we just have to accept it for what it is. I've been torn between this model and the X Max 3 for the bigger print volume, both look like they produce incredible quality!

    • @honeybadger3dprintandpaint
      @honeybadger3dprintandpaint  18 дней назад

      so i don't think they will offer a solution or parts if I'm honest, BUT we also have a video coming up of some higher temp filaments like PC and Nylon and we will do them with the heater on and printing at full height just struggling to think of the models to use to really show off the capability, open to ideas if you have them, we had the X-plus 3 not the max and it was a middle of the road printer this one does blow it away in normal printing

      I have done a ton of extremely large prints in PLA and practically all engineering materials on this unit without any issues what so ever with way fan is vented. They have small firmware update takes in account, but zero issues on any prints and I have used every bit of z height on dozens of prints. This is my favorite printer and most used one in my small farm. I have well over 560 hours on this machine received it in September around the 20th. I have been working on a 1.3Meter RC plane where fuselage sections all glue fit and belive have around 40 plates in total to make to build plane, I have printed around a dozen of the fuselage parts on this machine and they come out beautiful. I will say I have favorite new Filament ROCK Series PLA s made by Overture, they absolutely rock!

    Happy new year to you guys! Great video as always. I’m tempted to get the plus4 but the only thing concerning me is the fire issue as mentioned by 3D musketeer. But I’m not sure if this is only applicable to the US version.
    On another note if you’re getting rid of the honey badge sign. Can I have it?
    On the note of slicers. I’ve found orca won’t allow you to send via WiFi but the slicers from the printer company do.

      So the issue is limited to the 110v version but to be clear the issue has now been resolved and any customers who could have the issue are being contacted by Qidi and parts are provided for free or refunds are being offered, the 220v doesnt have the issue
      on the sign, ill drop you a message

    I got that printer and was loving it until the fifth print. And for some reason, the bed stopped moving. And I wound up with a glob of death period at this point I got the glob out it did damage to the head of the unit. And after contacting support, they just want to make parts versus replacing the printer. Which I only got about 4 days prior very disappointed about that still talking to them? I don't want spare parts. I want the printer to be new as it should be

      So the challenge here is the printer could have a fail at some point in the future and they won't replace the machine everytime, what parts do you actually need to replace?

    Thanks for your review, but I do have a suggestion. The music droning on the background adds nothing and is really just annoying (at least for me). I think your video, especially one as long as this is would be more pleasant to watch without it.

      @@honeybadger3dprintandpaint Thanks! I found your review since I'm considering one of these. Would you recommend this to someone who is new to 3d printing? Is there any sense for how well these machines hold up over time assuming normal maintenance is done?

    • @honeybadger3dprintandpaint
      @honeybadger3dprintandpaint  5 дней назад +1

      So i would say it's a great machine for a new starter as its genuinely rewarded to print with a high success rate, what i will say is done expect any printer to come with zero maintenance or a learning curve, the 3d printing community is generally pretty helpful for newbies and there are a few facebook groups that can help you as well, but this is great start

    You’re so excited about this 3D printer. Try printing ASA in 303x305x280mm-you CAN’T. The first print area is 290x290mm due to Qidi using some space for the filament cutter. Then you print a nice tower in PLA, but try printing it in a material where you need to turn the chamber heater on. Then you can only print 270mm, and the printer turns off. The chamber heater thermistor turns off because the outlet hole is simply too small to let the heated air escape. So, all of us who bought the first batch printer are fighting with Qidi Tech and have to listen to a video about how fantastic it is. You don’t mention that the support team is bad and, early on, wouldn’t help unless it was a small problem. I think you RUclipsrs need to think about how you do business or promote products. I know why the video with industrial material isen`t came out, Then theit machine got problems, oe maby youtuber got a special models?

      ok so alot to unpack there, first of all i cant comment on support because we haven't used it, secondly we are making a higher temp print video but we were waiting on ASA, and Nylon CF as well as PC to come back in stock with our supplier before we can actually try printing, i will agree we didnt try printing to the full volume of the machine but i can certainly look to include that in the next video we make, our machine ships from the same warehouse yours does so no special machines here, ive said before that we test the machine that is in front of us i cant review a machine based on your experience i can only review one based on mine

    I've got 9 of these machines. I had to tear apart and basically rebuild all of them. Chamber heater SSR were melting. In fact, Qidi tried to bury this issue and it was actually me that spoke to the CEO and told him to recall these or i report it the the Consumer safety administration. He ignored me, so i posted on their official fb page giving them 48 hrs. to recall them. They recalled them the next day. Grub screws falling out of toolhead. Lower toolhead bearing being loose, wifi dongle sucks, replaced those. Bed level and firmware issues. After months I finally have them working. Cost me hundreds more out of my pocket to fix NEW machines. This simp video is complete bs.
    BTW, it's pronounced Chee- D

      I don't know what to tell you man we reviewed the machine we had, and the machine we had hasn't put a foot wrong and we have a 220v not the 110v, the 110v is the one that had the SSR issues which we can't review cos we don't have that machine or that issue, as for how they have dealt with it I can only comment on press release we were given, not sure how that makes it a simp bs video but feel free to hate but this machine has been better than my bambu and my k1 max, and it way less work than my voron, artillery, eryone and elegoo

      It is "you" let the CEO decide to recall these machines? This is the first joke I heard in 2025. They have never concealed this problem, have been actively looking for solutions, and issued announcements to let users choose to replace SSR or return the product for a refund. In my opinion, their response is very positive and effective. Don't take yourself too seriously and treat other users as fools. Not even sure if you actually have a Plus4. Mine has always worked just fine.

      My first question is, why do you have 9 Plus 4 printers if you are not satisfied? The second question would be: why did you buy the spare parts? So far I have always received my spare parts under warranty. QIDITECH is one of the best companies in terms of customer service when it comes to warranty.
