Farah is definitely more Javanese than most of nowadays Javanese people in Indonesia. Actually the wood carvings that go inside a Javanese house are not just any carvings, they are coded and symbolized so that the owner really feels the home as a sanctuary that provides comfort and protection against the bad external influences. If you look more carefully that most of the time the main wood pillars of the house ("sokoguru") and the main roof ("tumpangsari") are protected further using gold needles that are installed inside them. These golden needles have been blessed through traditional rituals with aim to provide additional protection and comfort to the owner. I take my hate off to Farah for her courage to preserve the beautiful home. In syaa Allah the home will provide her with even more joyful experiences to Farrah and the family going forward in Malaysia!!
Not enough javanese she is, especially when her home design alone are not purely joglo design but also an influence of modern bali villa style, and isn't she have never been in java? Pardon me but you sound unrespectful to javanese which they're mostly are living in a village not city so how can she be more javanese LOL.
Javanese house "joglo" are designed to be dismantle and reassembled..That's why old javanese house in a good condition usually have good offering from collectors who are willing to build them again in Jakarta.. But never I imagined it will traveled far to Malaysia..It'll cost a lot, but I guess it definitely worth it.. Nb: you need experts javanese craftman aka tukang to assembled it correctly, not every one can do it the right way.. So kudos for finding those craftmen..
Thank you, Farah, for preserving Javanese architecture in the neighboring country. I am an Indonesian Javanese and hope that your hard work inspires many Indonesians to do the same and to take pride in the local architecture. As far as I know, Yogyakarta and Surakarta/Solo are 2 Javanese cities famous for preserving Javanese joglo style (Pasar Gede in Solo and Sultan Palace of Yogyakarta). This ancient heritage should be celebrated and preserved well despite the nationality.
yea, my house is still joglo that are like 100 years old, but you could buy a normal house with just the price of the teak woods used, the very old teak wood that are hundreds of years old.
Wow I got goosebump thinking about the amount of efforts put into this, I guess the original house, shape and layout carries along lots of memories in the family. What a feat and architecture, but why not, cause we only live once! :)
Wonderful presentation Alex. This is an outstanding house, i truely appreciate intricate wood work that is a part of the culture of the ppl. The owner too, she truely has immersed herself into the surroundings. What some may overlook, she appreciated in the old pieces and made it a part of her home.....well done!
An incredible undertaking by Farah and her team. Undaunted by the many challenges: taking a joglo apart piece by piece, transporting and reassembled with respect to tradition and climate. Bravo!
wowww....this is a house where nature and humans understand each other. Some may define the house as wastage or destroying trees. But life is all about balance, arriving at the point where each purpose is understood and realised. There is so much appreciation of nature in this home. It's like an art museum - peaceful, magical, spiritual
This is truly an ART. Wonderful collective items in every possible places. I appreciate the owner's timeless dedication and thanks to the crew in making this hidden gem available to everyone...👍🏼
Omg this is my dream house, this is the real sustainability! She speaks so eloquently, great editing btw! Many of Javanese & Balinese touch & philosophies here, make it more interesting
Huge inspiration. Her love & passion to the house really makes this video priceless. Amazing house transformation journey. Love every bit of the house.
The moment Alex said it is a house that was build 14 years ago, tears rolled down my cheeks. I've watched so many videos of Design Seeds and this is the first time I cried! When Farah opened the door at 17.33, looked like she was opening the door to paradise. My favourite is the riverstone bath tub! 😍i wish i could visit the house one day, especially for the 99 doors!
This is one of my best piece yet. It resonates with my soul. I can’t wait to create a beautiful home like like this. This home has a soul and it’s the most beautiful soul ever. Love love this ❤
This is so so so beautiful.. i feel emotional with the vibe.. it's so green and relaxing the top floor really remind me of my traditional grandparent's house, it was all wood with ornament and the floor is made from white stone, no polish just let it natural and clean.. but now it's gone since they need to replace the woods allover the house but it gonna be way more expensive than brick wall so.. just be a memory. This house is showing she's really into peace you know.. amazing
The hand carved Gebyok partition & Soko Guru (the 4 pilars) with 5-9 carved Tumpuk Soko on top are the most important parts inside Javanese Joglo & Limasan....would be complete if decorated with Wuwungan (the crown piece) on top exterior of Joglo & Limasan .....and mostly decorated with beautiful Chandelier on the center
Craftspeople and carpenters are NOT simple people. They are rare specialists who know the history, materials, and purpose of the beautiful objects they are creating and restoring and do not deserve any social contempt.
Thank you for presenting the Joglo, it is magnificent craftsmanship. This is such a special video, of a house that migrated with its owner and still taking care of the family that loves it ❤🏡
No matter which age and era you will be, the beauty of wood and its architecture can never be replaced, Asia is home to one of the most beautiful houses built with woods.
Awesome Woodwork & Unbelieabley beautiful. To own such magnificient house is achievement itself. I studied architecture but I am amazed with grandeur of this property.! The location is also great where the house is sitting in an appropriate place. What more one want in life ?
I absolutely love this house! Thank you for featuring Farah's home and her effort to preserve Balinese wood craft, design and architecture. Looking forward to more videos of interesting homes. Thanks Alex!
Nice video production. Different variety and concept from & for this channel. What i learn from this episode (apart from ID) is that, if resources are enough; everything will be peaceful 😅
If I'm not mistaken this house has been put into on Propertyguru few years back. I'm not sure if the owner finally decided not to sell it. Pretty sure it was on the list.
I love this house You can apply the design principles in small house. Not so important note I am curious how American end up studying in Iran . She is real citizen of the world
Farrah, this home should be featured on the 700 Club if you know what I mean. Be blessed. Like they say in show business, if you hate Barbie, this movie is for you.

speak english is more javanese? come to java,a lot of rumah jogo in here, rumah jogo in this video is not purely joglo style
Where do you learn all this, mas? I guess the Royal family keeps this kind of knowledge for themselves. How can I be sure?
Aloha snackbar
what a narrow minded lol

Love the timelessness of Joglo and Limasan House. You could time travel to year 2500 and still find both of them captivating ♥♥❤
