Really enjoyed the vibe of this video. Easy watching and enjoyable throughout. Some incredible shots on that par 3 too. I'd love to see a video where you take a high handicapper newbie golfer like myself and test the difference between a beginner package set and a set of fitted clubs. Lots of us out there that wonder whether a fitting and higher quality equipment would help our game, and to what degree.
Great irons ping 210i’s can’t see me changing em for the taylormade’s ,feel so soft as good as previous forged irons I’ve had before , good to see different ability’s playing the clubs , keep up the great context James
You can’t beat an on course video and it’s great to see Mark testing irons out on the course. Mark hit the nail on the head with his comment about not accepting the clubs without a fitting 👏👏. I hope you get to film club swap video with Mark 🙏🙏
Was fitted 2 months ago just couldn’t get on with the taylormades ( don’t know why ) and ended up going i500 in the end with traditional loft , love the sound and the feel of the i500s , when your the putters not working it’s not working mark
These 2 irons are on my list for comparison along with Titleist T-100 when I go for my custom fit next spring. Would like to see a T100’s comparison also
Thumbs up for Mid HCP review. Honestly, I am sort of sick of all those reviews where some pro hits a driver like 300 yards, that is of absolutely no use for me (and I guess most golfers) at all. But sadly those flood youtube instead of videos like this.
They looked comparable irons. Surely you'd need a big benefit to justify investing in a new set so rather than ask "would you swap for free?" isn't the better question "are these worth the money?"
I'm guessing Mark's biggest problem with the Taylormades, when reflected upon, is turf interaction. i210's have a wider, rounder soul allowing for less turf interaction. Betting the Taylormade irons have a tendency to dig in a bit.
I play i210s and have tried the P7MCs. That was very little different between them in terms of performance in the 7i testing club and I really could not tell much difference in feel. It is obvious that in the longer irons the P7MC has the smaller head but it is not so small as to be scary for someone who plays i210s. The problem for me with the P7MCs are the P770s. If you play i210s there is no real reason to switch
Topic suggestion... hybrids or woods with 3 different shafts. Low, med and high launch shafts and which suits what swing speed. If someone cant afford a fit it is a bit of a guess as to what is more suitable for mid handycappers. Thx for the great content! Ps ...James has the Jon Rahm swing down pat and the adidas attire to boot
TXG has a video with the three Fujikura Ventus profiles. Launch profile isn't directly related to speed, because the launch created it completely dependent on how one loads and delivers a shaft.
@@sebastiannachilly500 Thx!...yes i love that channel and have been watching it for a while. He mentioned club head speed but also transition type smooth or fast and how the club head is loaded in transition with those 2 types of actions... Mark has a swing speed and smoother transition similar to mine which is 1 reason why i hoped he would maybe test his hybrid with the tensei ck red blue black and orange and see what the number say. Matty boy on TXG has pga tour swing speed which is not relatable at all. Thx for the reply
Suppose the custom fitting and premium clubs are not in the budget.... should these clubs be considered or would you be better off with cheaper clubs fitted?
I have a set of the mcs and they are buttery soft. So much so that they dinging up really fast. Thin sole width also. Maybe get a set of winter irons with wider soles to counter soft conditions. They feel great though. Better even that Callaway forged.
Looking at carrying for winter golf james (when where allowed back on the course) Is your bag heavy? Do you carry a full set all the time? What split is the bag you use 4 way 5 way or more what would you recommend? Wanting a decent light bag for 18 holes cheers
If Mark is not intimidated by the profile, I think the feel and feedback of a fitted set of Taylormade MCs would only enhance his experience and game potentially. The thinner sole may improve the turf interaction. He smoked the 5 iron off the tee. The sound difference was obvious.
depends on why he is a mid-handicap golfer. The P7MC's are not the most forgiving and the longer irons are a bit daunting to look at compared to many other cavity back irons. Ping irons are always relevant but I cant ever get over the offset and top lines of them.
It all comes down to putting👍 Its interesting that you wouldnt have another set of irons without a fitting... but did you have a Putter fitting for the Toulon? In an average round I hit between 14 and 18 shots with an iron from my set but have anything from 26 - 34 putts with my putter and I just use a putter I like the looks of. I've booked a fitting at Ping in Gainsborough in January for driver and putter. It will be my first putter fitting and hopefully can get me down to scratch.
I'm mid handicapper and looking to change irons at Christmas. Really timely video for me and will definitely give both irons a try. Looking at Mark's game an interesting video would be a putting lesson with Chris. Probably would give Mark massive benefits. Keep up the great content.👍👍
Topic Suggestion: What's the best value for the beginner , A current cheap driver , i.e. Slazenger V300 v Old but good driver i.e. Original Big Bertha , both have about the same value these days but which will be the better club ?, has technology advanced enough to make the V300 as good as a 20yr old driver?.
The i210's and P770MC's are both tour level clubs. Why we continue to push mid-handicappers into these demanding clubs is beyond me. I'm a 4 handicap and own both the i210's and G400's and have tested them side by side many times. I game the G400's. I encourage people to fight the urge to play more and more demanding irons unless you are an up and coming junior with a realistic shot of playing college golf or beyond.
After being fit several times, completely agree with this! Everyone wants to play blades because they think it's some rite of passage. We're certainly not good enough (as is evident in our vlogs) to play blades and realize it 🤣
We are not talking about blades. I am 11 HCP player and have the i210 in the bag. The reason that I am not a single HCP player is because of my short game (mainly shots within 100 yrds). So in my opinion if you are decent ball striker, you can play the i210, however these TM irons seems indeed for the better amateur player
@@rrberendes The i210's have a bunch of wins on the PGA and LPGA tours in 2020. They are surgical tools for the absolute best ball strikers in the world. @@IamNexu I disagree. They are soft cast irons that give you consistent results.
