Fantastic. For those saying they wouldn’t do a fitting because they can’t afford a brand new set; you don’t have to buy the recommended clubs, use the recommendation to review your next purchase, whatever that might be 😀👍
@ Just had a fitting this past Saturday for irons. AFter all said and done I was fitted with Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro with Project X LZ 6.0 shaft. He gave me pricing through his shop with fitting cost and their "guarantee" and then told me what price through mizuno would be since they were able to offer the exact same setup for a custom build. I had him order through mizuno and he saved me $100s of dollars. He was very honest and up front. I guess it just depends on the club fitter.
That was a wonderful video-I have played Ping clubs since 1984 and watching the process and the science they use in the fitting process for your mid handicap player as well as for me, is why Ping is the best!!!!!
I got a full bag fitting last September, best thing I have ever done. I was shooting mid 80's and stuck there, shooting in the high 70's consistently now. Been playing for about 6 years, 48 years old.
On average I watch 3 golf youtube videos per day. This one was one of the most informative I've seen in months. I'm also a mid handicap golfer. At 68 years of age I'm playing to a 15 handicap. After seeing this video I'm seriously considering going for a swing analysis and club fitting session. Thanks for this post!
After returning to play golf after 20 years away, I spent an hour and a half being fitted after warming up for half an hour. I've since ordered and used the clubs that were recommended (but there was no pressure to buy) and am absolutely delighted with them. I've never hit the fall farther and straighter even if struck off centre. I've had to recalculate all my yardages from range sessions. I would thoroughly recommend a custom fitting.
I’ve played golf since I was 7-8. I recently fell out of the game for 9-10 years. I’ve just been fitted for a new custom set of clubs. The insight the technology gives today is amazing. Ive never felt so confident with distances etc.
Great video! Mark is living the dream. Who wouldn’t want the full attention of a professional club fitter for a whole bag of clubs? A little practice and I bet he’s a < 10 HCP by September.
I have been a ping guy for about 55 years, never seen a fitting always bought from a ping rep but never been that intensive, it was great, and i only live about 200 miles from pings main plant in az.
I’m glad the Ping fitting expert was able to actually show him how the Blue Prints don’t fit his game... or really anybody’s game. The I-210’s are great clubs, probably going to be my next set too. I hope they gave him a Blue Print poster for his wall.
Hi, as a Mizuno fan I was tested for a new set of irons at the end of last years to replace my old MX 23s at my local fitting centre using Trackman etc. I was intending to get Mizuno forged or hot metal or a blended set ( I am a 17 handicap and an infrequent player up to that point). I bought a set of Srixon Z585s with NS Pro Zella 7 regular shafts. Lesson - ditch the brand loyalty and get what works.
I hadnt planned it but I ended up being the least "brand loyal" person ive ever seen. Ended up with a Wilson driver, Tour Exotics woods, adams irons, titelist wedges, and a callaway putter lol then to take it even further i bought a nike bag, adidas shoes, and snell golf balls so essentially nothing matches. Its all about whatever works, no need to get every club from the same brand.
I did a lot of research online and bought a 2017 Taylormade M2 driver, I have never been able to hit a driver so consequently never carried one in my bag, but due to the rave reviews the M2 got, I decided to invest in one. Well, it changed my life so much that I decided that I needed some irons and my research lead me to the Taylormade M2 irons, which I had my heart set on. So off I went to be fitted for some M2's. The Pro brought me out an M6 7 iron which I felt really good with, but then he asked me to try a Wilson D7 7 iron. As soon as I had it in my hands I knew that these were the clubs for me. They felt so natural, the balance was fantastic and I just had to have them. They and the driver have transformed my game so much, that I have dropped 23 shots in my last few outings with them and continue to go from strength to strength. The best thing I ever did was to go and get fitted for my clubs and I highly recommend that before anyone parts with any money, please go and get fitted.
I was fitted for new clubs last month: i210 irons, G410 hybrids (19 & 23 degree), shortened driver to 44.5", dropped the 3w. But my results are very different to Mark. My swing speed is consistently 5 mph slower, but I hit the driver 20+ yards further and the wedges at least 10 yards further...but Mark hits the irons close to 10 yards further in carry. Just shows golf is a very funny game
Mark is always fun to watch. You can see the Blueprints turn him into a kid in a candy store happy! Mike at Ping is always awesome. His level of knowledge and is foundation of trust for me every time I see him in a video. And the fact that he has a personality is just icing on the cake. You, on the other hand Mate, need a new mid-handicapper for testing!!! Mark's about to take more of your money out on the course....are you sure you want to keep giving him lessons and turn around and know it's for him to use against you?! I'm just kidding of course. What a great golfing relationship you both have. God bless ya mates!!
Got custom fitted three months ago for a new driver which is the G425 and it was the best thing I’ve done in years, I always took a stock driver of the shelf but never again,by far it is the easiest driver I have ever hit off the tee more than likely because it has been fitted for me by a Ping specialist.
I had a ping iron fitting back in June. Learnt so much about me, my swing and the mechanics and how the lie angle has an impact. Ended up with shaft half inch longer and a green dot which I think is 2degree lie angle. relate so well to that feeling Mark is experiencing and the same in the later video when he unboxes them. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Congratulations on the new clubs Mark!
Super video!! Got fitted this year for my irons, 2 x hybrid and also putter. So far this golf season had 3 shot cut in handicap. By far the most interesting was the putter fitting and what a difference!! Highly recommend everyone to be fitted for putter.
I'm late to the party, but i've been playing with a old set of clubs my dad gave me about 17 years ago. They are Wilson 1000. He received them as a wedding present in 1982. I just finished a fitting at Golf Galaxy and was fitted for the Green Dot Ping G410s irons, with regular shaft and mid sized grips. Along with the Cobra Xtreme driver! I haven't bought them yet but man does a fitting help ten fold!
I got a fitting a year or so ago at lefthanded golf in Surrey. It's amazing how simple things can make a difference like adding an inch to the length can help. Highly recommend it. It cost a bit more than off the shelf but now i have a set of irons that will work for the next decade, with the occasional re gripping
Went for a driver fitting a couple of months ago and it was the best thing I've done as far as equipment was concerned. I was previously using a Taylormade Aeroburner 9.5* 55g stiff flex and always had trouble controlling it, after fitting I was put into the Cobra F9 10.5*, weight forward to lower spin and a Fujikura Atmos Tour Spec 7S 74g stiff and I have never hit my driver better my entire life, highly recommend it.
I love these club fitting videos, yep I have been fitted for all my clubs apart from the putter and after watching this video I will definitely be going for a putter fitting one day
I am sold on proper fitting... Technology with the swing analysis has made this process possible. In the past you basically focused on lie angle maybe a stiff or regular flex shaft, maybe. Now we have come full circle, you can test shafts, heads and grips in real time... And I am interested in a mixed bag, more forgiving long irons or hybrids... Confidence is the best club in the bag... thanks for posting...
The years fly by when I went to ping factory to have my irons fitted they only were looking at shaft flex and lie but they got it right and were great to use !!!
Such a great guy Mark although it looked as if he'd aged a couple of years after the fitting. My back would have failed halfway through. The most thorough club fitting I've watched.I have G400 driver, G410 hybrid and G410 irons with Nippon AWT shafts. Keep up the good work James!
Great Video, I found it to be very informative especially the putter. I liked this as Mark is not a low or scratch golfer and it shows what can be achieved with a fitting. Now lets see the two of you on a course to battle it out. Of course after Mark has a few rounds with the new clubs.
Brilliant video James. Real indepth review into a full fitting. Loved the putting fitting. Well done Mark too. I'd definitely be fitted if I was going for a new set of ping 👍
I've just had a putter fitting with ping couldn't believe the difference was such a good experience recommend to everyone to have a fitting with the putter. I was massive sceptic with fittings but after an iron and putter fittings it gives you so much confidence over the ball, it also stops the over thinking because you know if you hit a bad shot it was a bad swing.
Great video James I got fitted for a set of srixon Z355 irons 18 months ago and at the fitting tried many different irons before deciding on those irons When I put a good swing on them they go really well
Very interesting James. Fitting was far more thorough than when I got fitted at golf retailer. Putting fitting was an eye opener as never had that done. Don’t play Mark for money now as his handicap will soon drop with his swing and fitted clubs. 😁
Just been for a fitting last week ,clubs came today Mizuno 919 tours with K B S lite 115 x shafts ,tried lots of stuff last week even the 919 forged that for me should have been better , but I couldn't hit them well ,the tours just went so nice and straight ,the K B S shaft felt so good and not at all harsh ,dispersion was very good also .Been doing some range time and even the 4 iron is going well ,distance dropped some on the clubs due to weaker lofts but I was expecting that .That Club and shaft was not what I was expecting to get at all ,just goes to show if you go in with an open mind with out getting obsessed with buying a certain brand or head design is probably the best way .I have to say the tours are surprisingly easy to hit .
I got fitted for my trusty R7 Superquad back in the day, before I had children and had "disposable income". I bought a set of irons around the same time without getting them fitted, so although there's no way I could afford a new set now, it would really be interesting to see how well suited to my game my current set really are, and how I could benefit if I was able to switch.
I had a club fitting about 4 months ago and got the ping i500 replacing my earoburners . I lost about 15 yards in distance but they are much more consistant My handicap has dropped from 24 to 18 in 4 months and I'm aiming for 14 by the end of the summers . Great clubs
Got fitted last fall and have seen a big difference in my ball striking and distance. Clubs fitted were driver, 3 wood, 4 hybrid, 5-pw irons. My scores old set 90s, new set low 80s. Also 1 score of 79 😊. I took a while to learn new clubs. Longer clubs and different lies. But well worth the money and time of the fitting. Might look into a putter fitting next.
I went to get my current set looked at just to see what I was missing out on. I'd definitely improve but not worth reshafting everything for $500+. Was nice to know they weren't terrible for me. My irons were spinning too much losing about 10 yards. Distance isn't an issue so doesn't really matter. Driver I am losing 20 yards and major consistency. Was only area I saw a big difference.
Got custom fitted at my club many many years ago play Ping ISI irons for last 13 years best clubs ever got down to scratch in 2013 need a refresh I think to get better
Been for several iron fittings starting in 2004 when I first got Mizuno MP-32s. Second was when I got MP-68s. 18 months ago got fitted for P730, 718MB, MP-18 and Apex MB. Ended up with the Apex MB. Done a few driver fittings too. However, based in Perth Oz, you have to rely on the fittings carts for shaft options or demo days where there will be some additional shafts available. Never had a wedge, putter or fairway/hybrid fitting. The other issue you get, is that fitting is with range balls and not the ball I play with.
I have had a fitting for my driver, which I loved. Very pleased with my Ping G le 2. I am struggling since my Iron fitting. I am finding my Cobra F Max Airspeeds a bit heavy. So getting sorted out at my own club in the next month or so. I iron results aren't great. I am considering a selection of Hybrids. My Driver and my 4 Hybrid are the best clubs in my bag..
James great video. I think i need to take a harder look at my bag now.i did try those blueprint blades they were great but just like him i threw them all over the place. Great info great video keep up the good work really enjoying the channel. Thanks again.
James I am a high handicapper and just got fitted for a set of Blueprints. I believe that I can hit them as well or as bad as my cavity backs. I’ve decided that subjective feelings about clubs are the most important. I also think they help with maintaining concentration.
Got fitter a few years ago for the Ping i200’s. Tried a few different irons but the Pings worked best for me. Also fitted for driver. Currently got the Cobra F9 Speedback with a Hazardous Smoke 6.0 stiff shaft. Like the whole fitting process. I know it (should) work. 👍🏻⛳️😁
Hi James, What a great Video fascinating content, I am however ashamed to say I have never had a fitting session for my bag which I feel is a little embarrassing having played off 5 for almost 25 years It’s certainly food for thought!!!
Great video. I've been fit for driver and irons and it's enlightening and fun too. Never had the surprises like this fitting though. His game is bound to improve.
Fantastic video there James. Have recently found the channel and learning a heck of a lot. Have never been fitted before and previously have bought off the peg. What a mistake to make! Recently went to my first fitting session, fell in love with the i500 and i210 (but for some reason am hitting the i500 better). Keep up the great work and look forward to more content from the channel.
Im a 18 handicap 23 years old (started 6 months ago on 36 hc) and I just got fitted and ended up getting the mp-20 bladed irons p-4, I hit them beautifully hit them further than my gi irons I had. Still waiting for them to arrive :)
Grear Vid James. I have never had a club fitting. Always wanted one. This has made me really want to get a fitting now. Feel it would be a big help to my game.
Absolutely informative video again James! That's how I would wish a fitting to be but yet haven't experienced. I had a Titleist Irons fitting recently near my home but I feel that I was not able to evaluate all options and should go for a second and third opinion with a different manufacturer where PING would be my favorite besides Mizuno. Before having tested those other clubs I would not go buy new ones because if I spend an ( to my feel) insane amount of money for a set of new clubs, they have to be the perfectly best choice for my play because I'd probably be playing them for the next four to six years again. I've had my Callaway RAZR-X blacks for six years now.
Brilliant video James, one off your most informative yet, I’m definitely gonna get fitted to the clubs I have now (steelhead xr_pro’s) an get a full fitting when I upgrade clubs. Blown away by the putter fitting.
I think we'd all like to see a full round of golf with those clubs.. ASAP....I would be especially interested in the irons as I'm not convinced they are absolutely right...
Great stuff guys. Current G15’s fitted about 8 years ago. Would love a change but don’t think it will happen this season. i210’s would be my No1 choice.
Great vid this. Echo what others have said, Marks swing is great for a mid handicapper, looks effortless. Surprising how much you get from the putter fitting too! Didn't think there'd be so many variables/recommendations.
Great video, I got fitted and really licked the look of the AP3 irons and wanted more distance and had mindset that’s what’s I was going to buy, but the Ping i210 was the better club with the better dispersion , lose your distance ego and drop your handicap, wish I would have learned that lesson earlier
I was fitted for my woods at a Titleist fitting day. My pro fit my irons after I bought them and bent them 1 degree upright. Never been fit for a putter though.
Fantastic. For those saying they wouldn’t do a fitting because they can’t afford a brand new set; you don’t have to buy the recommended clubs, use the recommendation to review your next purchase, whatever that might be 😀👍
Great comment Mark. I’ll pin this one ⛳️🔥
Low handicap tester for James next season 👍
@ Just had a fitting this past Saturday for irons. AFter all said and done I was fitted with Mizuno JPX Hot Metal Pro with Project X LZ 6.0 shaft. He gave me pricing through his shop with fitting cost and their "guarantee" and then told me what price through mizuno would be since they were able to offer the exact same setup for a custom build. I had him order through mizuno and he saved me $100s of dollars. He was very honest and up front. I guess it just depends on the club fitter.
Great point, anyone worried about the pressure, do a paid fit so you don’t feel guilty for the time the pro has spent 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed watching that Mark and good to see a fellow Type 1 golfer! Hope the pump is working as well for you as it has for me
This guy has a great swing for a mid handicapper.
Was thinking the exact same thing
ditto! I'm a 4.5 and i think he's got a more consistent swing than I do!
I thought exactly the same
Short game how is his?
Would you please do a follow up on how he is playing after the fitting? I am very interested to see how he is improved.

Great vid James. The putter fitting was a real eye opener. Thanks.

I have not done a club fitting. After watching this, I think it's in my future. Of course I need a jokester to go with me! I did enjoy this video.
One of the best companies out there!
Had a real mix of good and bad fittings over the years.
The poor ones can really put you off a company
the first 30 min Video on youtube i have watched all of it! well done James and well done mark!
Cheers mark appreciate that
Great video! Mark is living the dream. Who wouldn’t want the full attention of a professional club fitter for a whole bag of clubs? A little practice and I bet he’s a < 10 HCP by September.
Excellent video, never had a fitting but watching this video, I will go and have one so advanced nowadays
FANTASTIC video!
I have Never not "fast forwarded" through a video until this one.
Well done 👏👏👏
Loved the putter fitting. Fantastic improvement.
Got to see how to get one.

That was great. Looking forward to my own fitting in the near future.
Thanks for great insight to the whole Ping fitting process

Great video James, and great job Mark. Great fitting by Mike. Really enjoyed the video.
I have had a driver fitting. Enjoyed it. Added 20 m to my drives. I go for a iron fitting in two weeks, wedges down the track. enjoyed the session.
Never had a full bag fitting. Definitely panning on it. Love your content...and humour :)
Nice video! Heading for a full bag fitting in a week. Can't wait!!
Thanks Shawn! Enjoy your fitting mate
Thanks James!
Good to see how far club fitting has moved on, great interaction and explanation of process with a happy golfer at the end of it all.👍

It was a great video .I learnt a lot ,I have had fittings ,but not for the putter .
I’m a beginner and just got fitted for full ping bag, can’t wait to use them. Never played before and I had a 97 mph iron head speed.
A Brilliant and very educational video for a Beginner golfer .

Awesome video. Thanks so much for this. I’m about to go for a fitting with Ping for the G410 irons. Can’t wait now

Thanks for this video! I enjoyed it for a mid handicapper myself.
Great job Mark. I hope you get down to single digit handicap soon. Keep up that awesome attitude you have.
James great video. I think i need to take a harder look at my bag now.i did try those blueprint blades they were great but just like him i threw them all over the place. Great info great video keep up the good work really enjoying the channel. Thanks again.
Very well done. Hope to see some course vlogs with you and Mark in the future to see how he's getting on.
Just been for a fitting for new irons. Got the ping g410 in a s100 lite shaft.👍🏻
Great video James, I can’t wait for my fitting in a couple of weeks ⛳️🏌️
Hi James,
What a great Video fascinating content, I am however ashamed to say I have never had a fitting session for my bag which I feel is a little embarrassing having played off 5 for almost 25 years
It’s certainly food for thought!!!
Great video James, looked awesome at ping, got fitted for my irons a couple of years ago. Might have to have a day there in the near future😊👍
Amazing to see the Putter Tool.
Nice video and glad that your mid handicapper got fitted. He will be able to improve his game. Good luck on all you matches
Yes - twice - but never a putter (but I am now) -👍 great video👍
Great video. I've been fit for driver and irons and it's enlightening and fun too. Never had the surprises like this fitting though. His game is bound to improve.
Great video James. Never been for a fitting myself but would consider one on my next purchase.
Awesome. So informative. Never been fitted. I'm a duffer and play for fun. Not competitive, so I can't justify cost as well.
Nice one James. Thank you for the informative video!!!! Now, let's play more for pints!!!!
I have had several club fittings at the Performance Center at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
Haven't yet because I'm saving for a full set. I started playing about 2 years ago with a set of Strata clubs I bought off of Amazon to learn with.
hahaha...James I'll be your mid handicapper! come to the states! fun fitting
Have a fitting booked for Monday afternoon with my local shop, still open to club selection, 919, z585, ap3 or ping! Great video
Let's see Mark on the course now, please. Nice review above all the putting part.
I really enjoyed this video. Great job guys 👍
I was fitted for my woods at a Titleist fitting day. My pro fit my irons after I bought them and bent them 1 degree upright. Never been fit for a putter though.
Got fit for the M5 driver a couple of days ago. 30 yards longer then my old M1 2016. When I can afford a full set of irons will defo get fit for them.
Watching things get dialed in like that is fascinating. Need to get fitted.
