Just grabbed three of the bases. Thank you. Have never had an issue running the 20s on duty but have seen guys on the bonus course running fast and over insert. Removing the mags can be tough. Thanks for the video
@@108Performance just received. Fast shipping. Fit and finish is excellent. They are solid. Easy install. Will be running them this weekend in modern samurai red dot school prior to putting into duty rotation. Thanks again!
I would recommend your base pads over the factory. I have had their’s slide forward if the star hits just right on the ground. Placing the star deeper inside the base pad was a thoughtful upgrade.
I thought Para Ordnance out of Toronto Canada made the first double stack 1911’s, do you know anything on that history you could share? They also made an amazing double action 1911 you should shoot if you get the chance.
Thanks for addressing the Staccato mag problem of the next round in the magazine sliding forward in the magazine. Please let us know if Staccato comes up with a solution.
On a related issue, what is unique about the McCormick/Tripp/STI/S-V/Staccato/2011 design that makes their magazines so finicky historically as compared to designs with magazines that work so well that it's unusual to get one that does not (Glock, Sig Sauer, CZ, etc.)
I sold my C2 a few months ago when I was fortunate enough to find “The Grail” very slightly used. I thought the P 4.15 would accept the 120mm 16 round mags of my C2, but they did not. I removed the Dawson magwell on the P, honestly didn’t care for it finding it a bit large, and have stuck with the factory well on the ODS Gen2 grip module and still the 120mm mags won’t fit. Is that correct that the the P 4.15 will only accept the 126mm mags and larger?
I use the MbX mags and the Staccato mags. I have 2200 rounds so far using just 3 of the Gen3 Staccato mags. No issues so far and they still feel very new.
Someday I'll have a 2011; right now that's not possible. In the meantime, I'll have to content myself with more 10-8 stuff for my 1911. Including the duty tune DVD, which I've been meaning to pick up for a good long while now. Then some of the tools; I'm still "making do" with "almost good enough"...
I have a STI DVC Omni. Which base plate would you recommend for the staccato 20 round G3 mags? The base plate they came with are too long. My Omni also came equipped with a mag well. Thanks!
Update to the current factory mag well from Dawson and then both factory and 10-8 pads work with it. Legacy mag wells aren’t over travel stop compatible.
Great info!! Can you tell me what the measuring points are on those magazines?? In other words, where do they measure between to arrive at the MM lengths??? My wife is fixing to buy her first Staccato, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can in a rapid fashion. She's looking at the C2, and I want to be able to easily identify the various mags. Thanks!!
Got my Staccato P DPO alum frame two weeks ago. Dawson hooked me up with the gun, optic plate and 508t. They even mounted everything up and got it zeroed. Confirmed it myself and it was dead on for me. My three Gen 3 mags are doing great. Will hit the 500 round mark after this weeks range session. Really like the gun overall. Btw need to get some medium shirts back in stock I’ve been wanting one.
How many rounds do you reckon a C2 should last, assuming proper lube and recommended recoil spring change intervals? Hoping schedules align soon to take one of the 2011 armorer classes.
@@108Performance I guess I’m still stuck in the old school thinking with regards to alloy framed 1911’s (and I meant recoil spring change intervals). I’m only a about 2.5k into my first C2, so was worried about overdoing it with the alloy frame even as a 9. Thanks.
Remington R1 double stacks, since they bought Para Ordnance, also work. And they reused the magazine tube for the RP45 so those magazines also work, albeit needing some fiddling with the follower otherwise it can cause premature slide lock. Proper R1 magazines don’t have that issue. They’re also 15+1 rounds by default, and Taylor Freelance extensions can boost it up to 18+1. For whatever reason, the extensions weren’t compatible with Mec Gar P14 magazines and caused nosedive issues if loaded beyond 14 rounds (not an issue with the default baseplate). Not sure if it was the tube geometry or even the anti-friction coating that caused it, but the extensions didn’t work while they did for the Remington mags. So I think the Remington mags are best. It’s just a shame they aren’t made anymore. I did get lucky and find a whole bunch of them for sale and bought up as many as I could, so you might stumble upon them looking around.
Been out of pocket for a while. Have an edge and 19 P. Didn't even know about g3 mags. Mainly run 140s across the board- that being said, has anyone asked about a 140 mag adapter for the C frame? As you said, 20 is a nice round number. One thing, if nothing else, rotate those mags that ride around in pockets and pouches, make sure that stuff still cycles, shoots.. all that good stuff. I carried a pocket mag in .45 so long one time i think 2 or 3 were duds. Not confidence inspiring to say the least. At this point in the game, if i wanted to optic-ize my iron sight 19P, would you say call the factory? Dawson? Allstate?
Surely it cant be that hard to get "more" spring and 3d print a collar to go around the bit of the mag that sticks out Also STI dying and taking the Perfect 10 with them to the grave was a crime against humanity

Purchased a C2 awhile back and never regret the purchase, best gun on the market with hands down! Never had a problem with the gun at all.
Glad the 1911 base pads are back. Good stuff Hilton

Thank you! I listened to customer feedback to eliminate that very issue!
I currently have three 140mm mags I recently purchased from Atlas, will your over stop base plate fit the dimensions of the Atlas tube? Thanks!
Like your videos. Planning a trip to your shop this summer from Georgia.
Thanks for watching! Sorry but there’s no retail storefront, you can visit the store online!
Gonna grab some base pads and a shirt, thanks for providing great info! 🤝

They did, it is the new slimmer CS mag design. They will transition all over to that design overtime most likely
Great video! Thank you!
what model Staccato magazines will work in the Prodigy ?
They should all work.
At 12:20 is that only the Springfield magazine that needs more maintenance or the 140 in general ?
Will you be making a base pad for the gen 3 140 mm mag for the latest standard 2011 staccato c2?

As noted, when they wear out, as indicated by issues with feeding or locking back.

Are Gen3 mags done with the teflon coating? Is there any difference between the stainless and teflon coated mags?
I saw that Dawson has an improved mag catch/release for the G1 grip that prevents this; is this a viable option for G2 grips?

Measured at the back (spine)...but the round count indicators are a much faster way to ID the mags.

Wondering same thing sir
My staccato has a 15 round mag but they made an indention in it which makes it only hold 10.
2011 Magazine Base Pad for the 120mm do you guys make this?

Do your company make +2 plate for 120mm?
How about a Staccato 2011 mag tuning videos done as well as the Staccato Notes #3 Cleaning and Maintenance video?
Mag tuning on current gen 2011 factory mags negates need to tune mags. If mags have issues, see factory for warranty replacement.
@@108Performance I recently acquired an STI DVC 3 gun and mags so was looking for some tuning guidance as they are older mags.
