I was in Innsbruck last year for a day, went bouldering and ran into the "local punter" Alex Megos randomly, there wasn't even an event Sadly didn't see him climb though, he was on the phone pacing through the parking lot for half an hour then sat down in the café lol Least interesting celebrety story ever!
Looked like it would roughly qualify as a World Cup lead route. Maybe a bit undercooked on the creativity side of things, which is only natural, since it is not some kind of World Cup mastermind route.
Was really nice meeting you in Innsbruck Loui! Awesome Video, keep up the amazing work. Also I swear I already saw those local climbers a few times, they are pretty strong.
I think this is one of my favorite videos that I’ve seen you do. Really awesome to see how you did on insanely hard boulders. I will admit, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody climb with a watch on. Seems counterintuitive.
The same could have been said about cycling or running 30-40 years ago. Climbers are elite athletes and pushing their body to the max. By utilizing a watch to track your sessions, you'll gain insights into fitness, recovery, stress, etc. This information paves the way for better decision making long term toward your goals.
@@corosderek288 I get the health benefits, but in a sport where you are constantly pushing your hands into rough surfaces it seems like it would get damaged too easily.
@@nateayer3560 We have built a specific carabiner that holds the watch specifically for this reason. Some athletes prefer the watch on, but for those who don't, just clip it into the carabiner.
Amazing video, you should do more of these with some other random climbers we've seen in this video. Stefano is amazing, this 8C+ was unbelievable. Great video!!!
Great video ! Just one remark, I felt like there were a bit too much cuts on the "2 above onsight" Stefano's climb. I think most of us are here to see and maybe learn from great climbers, so while the cuts make the video more dynamic, there's a loss of interesting content.
Great video! I hope you make it out onto some of the amazing mountains around here - this is the best place in the world! Although high things not so accessible atm, I discovered the snow line is very low today…
I'm glad Coros brought these two together, but it's a little weird that a running watch company is sponsoring climbers -- athletes who don't typically wear watches due to degloving risks.
Thanks for the feedback. I work for COROS and am deeply involved in developing COROS climbing solutions. I'd like to provide more information about our work. Our primary goal is to design practical climbing technology tools to help climbers train more efficiently and track their progress more accurately, similar to how we've developed products for runners. When designing our solutions for both indoor and outdoor climbing, we were fully aware of the issues related to wearing a watch on the wrist. To address this, we designed a watch carabiner that allows climbers to attach the VERTIX watch to their harness. Our software can automatically detect indoor lead pitches without any button pressing. In bouldering, wearing a watch on the wrist usually isn't a problem. However, users can also opt to leave their watches on the floor when attempting very challenging problems. Moreover, we don't just sponsor athletes; we collaborate with them to build products that are genuinely useful for their training. COROS is the only tech wearable brand specifically developing products for climbers. While this technology is new to the climbing community and we understand it takes time to adopt, our product is continuously evolving. We welcome all kinds of feedback to improve our solutions further.
I almost always climb with my watch because I track heart rate data, which is fine since I hardly crack climb. I take it off if ever doing crack. My wedding ring is always on too, it’s silicone though
Now that you've conquered 18 meters, can we invite you to come to Groningen and climb the 33m Excalibur wall? It's got a yet unclaimed 9a, but maybe we'll keep that one for Stefano
Oh No LOUIS! I was really rooting for you on the mint but we didnt get to see you match hands. And you used a purple hold for your right foot slightly just before the end hold. BUT I love the video! And I love that when you sent it, you had decided on using your own beta or like "manual mode". very cool to watch.
The cuts on the lead part are a bit annoying. I get that the video might be a bit long with all the rests and clips, but it still missing a lot of climbing. Otherwise great stuff as usual!
Louis, will you be in Paris for the Olympics? In the audience, I mean. I've got tickets for the finals, and I'm lowkey hoping to run into you. 😄 Awesome video, btw!
freaking Jakob Schubert is just in the video with no introduction?? Edit: Jesus Christ Megos as well... I thought I had seen a video of him at this place, I didn't know it was for this though.
I would be curious to understand/learn how much time did the lead climb take for Louis and Stefano each, understanding that they were not climbing "for time."
*bunch of credit cards glued to an overhang*
stefano : it's my style
“Some local punter” 😂
Definitely blew my mind seeing a couple local "punters" in the video lol

Da machine himshelf.
Should ask him to try comps he seems pretty good!
Who was it? I'm not super familiar with all the top level climbers
"Warmup starts at 8 grades below your on sight level" oh so you mean 3b, a nice walk in the woods? I'm up for that
damn you're pretty strong
So, as a beginner v1 climber, for warmup I just take a nap
Man, feeling really pumped after that nap, mate
You followed Ink’s training plan: Start with treats.
Ink knows best 🐈⬛
I think the random German guy and the random Austrian guy you met should consider joining some comps I think they'd do quite well ! 😂
strong locals, wonder where i have seen them before? haha
:D some local punter, that killed me
8c+ route was insane, Stephano is really strong
Looked like it would roughly qualify as a World Cup lead route. Maybe a bit undercooked on the creativity side of things, which is only natural, since it is not some kind of World Cup mastermind route.
This video really puts into perspective how strong louis is too
I liked the performance from the "local punter" and the "random German guy" xD
Me too 😂
The production quality on this one is through the roof! Really good lighting there!
Thank you!
Because it was outdoors nearly the whole time
That's a hell of a collab! I wish Magnus would collab with him soon.
The climbing community is so much fun! so nice to see these guys training together! Big ups!!!
Love watching these awesome collaborations, when do we get to see Janja again? 😃
Red bull needs to get in touch I guess… 👀
One of my fav of your videos so far! So jealous you got to be in such stunning surroundings too ☺️
I really hope Louis had some spare time to explore the mountains a bit and just enjoy life.
Always love getting to see some of Stefano 💪
And just like that, Stefano gave me a license to skip the first move on my on sight tries. I am internally grateful, I needed this more than once 😁
Stefano is my fav climber, great video !
Loved seeing Louis on lead, more please! Great vid overall, Stefano is such a chill guy!
That would be such an intimidating place to climb
It was… World Cup climbers everywhere you look
It's actually not that bad cause you see the strong climbers fall on the hardest routes as well 😅
how funny would a Brian Shaw Collab be so we can see louis try an catch him in the intro
Was really nice meeting you in Innsbruck Loui! Awesome Video, keep up the amazing work. Also I swear I already saw those local climbers a few times, they are pretty strong.
GG Stefano, awesome effort! GG Louis, and thanks, helps a lot!
Loved seeing some lead climbing on the channel! As an injured boulderer forced to climb on a rope there’s a lot I can learn from watching you guys!
Jakob Schubert, local punter, I am crying 😂
Always psyched to see Stefano. And the chemistry was great.
I loved this video, great concept and great collaborator!! That lead wall is just endless
🗽 Innsbruck in Tirol (Austria)... wonderful 🙏
Stefano, Alex Megos, some random German, and the local punter 😁😁

love the cameo appearances from jakob and alex.. so cool!
This is such a cool gym in that it's outside and you have a mountain backdrop. Plus some fun looking holds

It seems like they cut out all the clips! I wanted to see him clipping!
holy shit do my eyes deceive me ??? The Captain on a lead wall
Love this content. More Louis crushing with big climbers

Your videos are incredible- so watchable, and so honest
Got so hyped when i saw Alex Megos pop up in the vid, all time idol for me!!
such a great video, you both are amazing, great collab!
Such an awesome video, great climbing!! I was so excited when you got the mint one.
Oooh a 35min Catalyst video... we are spoilt!
Awesome video! Great to see some lead climbing too!
Louis I was ROOTING for you on that mint boulder! Great video.
17:19 this route was set by that 9 year old at your gym who runs under you while you’re projecting and then flashes it in front of you after you fall
Finally we get to see you leading the way!
Stefano gives off golden retriever energy.
Top climbers are such nice people, and Louis too.
Parasocial af
So many strong climbers in one place!

agreed🤣 stopping and starting the watch every time you climb also seems like a chore
I wear my Apple Watch climbing, am I not supposed to? :o
@@astronaut3696 you are fine, there isn't a degloving risk indoors unless you're crack climbing, which you couldn't do with a watch on anyway.

Good to see that even a beast like Stefano experiences pains on tiny crimps. I never thought we would have something in common...
More Sport Climbing / Lead Climbing would be awesome!
Absolutely loved this video, could this be the start of Louis returning to sport climbing? Would love to see some lead videos
“Do you know how to belay?” 😂
Stefano seems like such a nice dude
Man that 8C+ climb looks brutal.
Fabulous video, but no way im wearing that hilariously huge watch climbing. Or indeed any watch!
Neat, that's y home gym. I hope you got to do some outdoor climbing/bouldering as well, while you were here.
We didn’t but we loved Innsbruck so much we will for sure be back!

Bravo Stefano 🤩🤩🤩🤩 more video like this one !!

Grats on 100k! 🔥
dab police holding back tears watching stefano climb anything
the cameos are crazy. even elias is there with them.

love the anti slab t-shirt XD
Eight grades below on sight... It means I'd have to enter a lift and get a massage there, maybe that is a negative grade...

nobody else noticed how they edited away every time louis clipped when lead climbing? hehe
Jacob looking mildly uncomfortable on that boulder makes me wonder how many people in the world can do it
