Amber's voice is actually a rock n' roll voice. Of the New York school. It uses talking rhythms along with the singing rhythms. I'm amazed at how much sound their able to produce on such a small set up. If you look at early Led Zepplein, they too were able to produce very unique sounds using a simple set up. At some future date, this band could easily decide to turn up the volume considerably--not that I think they would--and the rock n' roll here would come through more obviously. Anyway, love these people and the music they're making. Very, very impressive.
Since I couldn't find em anywhere else, here are the names of the musicians: Amber Papini - Guitar/Lead Vocals Nathan Michel - Guitar Brian Betancourt - Bass David Christian - Percussion
I wish they continue playing and being active, I tried to reach out to them but can’t find them anywhere, I need a tutorial to play their music and carry on their legacy 🥺
@Bernard Cool band. I saw them opening for Wild Flag in 2012 and then again in 2014 (probably one of their last shows as a band), sharing the stage with Ex Hex and another local band. If you connect with them, let them know they are well-remembered.
I love these songs and this version. I wish it would be released as an EP. I'd love to listen to these songs over and over! As good as the album version and pleasantly different!
this band is great! she has an awesome voice and the way she sings is great and refreshing. This is a great session! This version of Sleepover is so much better than the albums
This is where REAL music happens, where people regardless of their failures make it happen cause they have a passion for music. These guys made it happen, regardless of any shortcomings. It's not about perfection, it's about having a passion for music and making it happen! :) (Did I say 'make it happen' enough? LOL)
Wonderful I would imagine by now you have found a promotions agent? I would have loved to help you on you way! My name is Carla if you ever need any help! Best wishes! I trained with the BBC and am now supporting the arts! Your music is exceptional because it is different talented and a joy! Best wishes to you all! Really wonderful! Loved listening!
love the music, tight and lush sounding group and as good a job as the singer does, I'm just kinda over that sound you know? Just tuned her out and listened to the band. Sorry lady.
I’m just here from the future to say how much I love Hospitality and wish they were still making music. 🥰🥹😭
Best unheard of band ever. Amber’s voice is wonderful, all great musicians. Really unfortunate they aren’t still making music. So good!
I haven’t stopped listening to their self titled since I was 11. So many memories......
Me too

so very nice that music of this sort is still being made and thought about... beautiful

I'm freaking hooked! Most original music I've heard in a good while...original while maintaining strong pop sensibilities. Great stuff.
sleepover is incredible
I literally listen to this everyday! As well as the new CD. love it all.
I have no idea what to compare Amber's voice to, it's so unique and compelling.
try listening to some old mr twin sister!
I watch and listen to this every few days. Not because it's in my contract. I just like it.
I just discovered this today and I have had it on repeat for 6 hours so far while at my desk!

Their self-titled album is tragically underrated. I wish more people would have heard this. Beautiful.

haven't even started it yet, and I'm stoked, such a good band!
i found this through some music writer's newsletter, i'm glad i did.
you're one of the best music maker i never meet.
LOVE the acoustic version of Sleepover here! :)
Nice stuff. I like the freshness of the music. There is a definite positive spiritual vibe going on here. Good luck in the future!!
I like all these bands that you are promoted. Their music is quality.
Congratulations and good luck!
Fixed! Thanks for the heads up everyone!
Wonderful songs ! Reminds me a bit of Laura Veirs.
The self titled album lives rent free in my head since 2012. It's a 10/10
Shout out to my home girl Jocelyn p for putting me back on this music energy after 12 years not being into this God I needed this rock back
The description is actually for "Arborea" which can be found at NPR's website
Really really wish they'd do a 2014 version with a few songs from Trouble
This is so SOLID oh my GOODNESS. =0
I bloody love Hospitality!
Fantastic
Amaziiiiiiiing! ♥♥♥
Thanks! I'm a new fan.
Brilliant
Maybe not exactly my thing, but they are clearly very talented.
her voice sometimes reminds me a bit of regina spektor's :>
great songs!

First heard their song Liberal Arts. Addictive, and yes, Steely Dan cover A+
oh my god, that voice......
Set List:
"Sleepover"
"The Birthday"
"Betty Wang"
"charm offensive" seems like a very odd, and perhaps oxymoronic, description. NPR people are so smart I'm sure that was intentional.
The description is still pretty wrong.
Amber, where's your new writing? Where have you gone Joe Dimaggio?
Most Tiny Desks are 3 song sets.
Description is wrong
WHY IS THIS SO SHORT
...love this song to begin with, but this recording tops the album version.

gah i always wanted to read randytooths comments but their gone!
I bet Dylan, Hendrix, Joplin, Cobain, etc. wouldn't have made it past a round of American Idol, either. ;)
they remind me of the smiths
