    You should try to record your heartbeat with your stethmic and see what you hear

    Thank You! All the digital, electric or recordable ones I found online were like $300-$400 on the cheap end

      @@TheREAPERBlog I see that, but it doesn't say "part 1 of x", where x is some integer number greater than 1. Why not ask "where is part 3?"?

    Hi Akash, i love your video! But, i have a question:
    Why do not you do a video where you talk about game audio implementation? From what I read on the web if you know how to do this, you have a great advantage to get jobs in the industry.

      It's true, it's a helpful skill, and I do have a video up on this channel that briefly covers it.
      It's a topic I want to cover more in-depth the future for sure!

    is this like a throat mic that's available?

  • @ben_burnes
    @ben_burnes 7 лет назад

    I've been working on building one of these, though I'm having trouble getting a solid connection between the tube and the mic. I didn't buy the microphone you suggested rather trying to use one I had lying about, but the head is a bit more concave and I don't think it is picking up the stethoscope super well. do you just have a crazy preamp boosting the volume?

    • @AkashThakkarAudio
      @AkashThakkarAudio  7 лет назад

      My gain on the Zoom H6 is set to 6/10, so nothing too crazy! The capsule on my mic is totally flat though, so that may be making things easier. What mic are you using?

    • @ben_burnes
      @ben_burnes 7 лет назад

      OK, I was using a Shure SM57 since I didn't want to buy another microphone for just this purpose. I was running it through a Cloudlifter preamp (+25db) and I didn't get a whole lot. I also didn't want to do a crazy tape job on the microphone since I definitely want to use it for other things as well. Any advice would be appreciated, but I'll keep experimenting!

    • @AkashThakkarAudio
      @AkashThakkarAudio  7 лет назад

      Ahh that would be why. You're using a dynamic mic, whereas I recommend using a condenser mic. Dynamic mics are FAR less sensitive, and are best for recording louder sounds (which is why SM57s are almost always used on snare drums).

    • @ben_burnes
      @ben_burnes 7 лет назад

      Oh! I'm an idiot. I didn't read enough about the microphone you linked, I thought it was a dynamic similar to the SM57. I do have a condenser mic, but it's not a good shape to butt up a tube like this. I will have to investigate other options (or maybe invest in that condenser because I do like me some microphones :)

    How did you manage to get recordings without noise in the background? When you did the heartbeat recording was it much quieter and hence the recording has more background sound?

    • @AkashThakkarAudio
      @AkashThakkarAudio  Год назад +3

      There was a fair bit of noise, but I used iZotope RX to denoise them.
