The first and best Anarcho Punk group, saw them live in 1981 and they were brilliant, listening to this today its amazing how relevant a lot of the lyrics are, to todays right wing 'leaders' in uk and usa. you should listen to 'Bloody Revolutions'
I disagree with some of their political conclusions ( I am an anarchist, but not a pacifist) the business of the state is violence as the business of banks is money and the business of corporations is exploitation and the only way to win is to contest the monopoly fight back against the government, dont participate in the banking system and use non-standard currency and use 5 finger discounts and buy from local or outlaw/tax and slavery free corps as often as possible
@@youareaspook5897 wow. That's some political philosophy you've got there 😬
Right Wing? You missed the message.
Ah yes the song that changed my life.
People don't talk enough about Crass's AMAZING bass lines, so many cool melodic lines
Crass live has better recorded bass and yes they have great bass lines that are almost funk like rhythmically. Like like slap funk but like James brown funk. They really relied on his rythems as a backbone
Grew up listening to CRASS- LOVE THEM
Perfect anarchist-punk music, crass is legendary
You can't react to Crass without reading the lyrics as you react. The whole point of Crass is their lyrics.
Crass were never "punk rock", they rallied against the rock star element of the punk scene and the industry it became. They were anarchist punk.
Found your reaction while listening to the original song as I grew up with Crass. Really enjoyed your take on it. They were a gamechanger for me and especially this song when I was getting into punk and hardcore as a kid. Conflict, another band, was and still is a huge band for me and would like your take on "Mighty and Superior" - another big song for me as a kid.
best punk band ever! all the records said PAY NO MRE THAN 50P Ect grew up affording these guys records!
You need a lyric video. all recordings by cress were supplied with full lyrics for a reason.
Saw them live 4 times, nothing like a Crass gig
Prime Sinister = Thatcher
She's been dead for ages ffs leave her alone
@@patkelly3966 wasn’t soon enough
The vocals are perfect
So important the Anarcho punk gets heard by a new audience :-)
Crass,yeah.
If Moses did it with his faith, she'll (Thatcher) do with an army.. *great lyric
Agreed!
Love this song
Find the video with the lyrics make more sense to you. Crass one of the best punk bands ever
What’s that noise??.
That’s punkrock.
It’s not music, it’s punkrock. Welcome friend.
Good sh-it homie!!!
Been listening to these guys since 2003 Oi! Oi! Punx n skins
I actually searched CRASS reactions 😝✊ because I'm getting more into anarchist punk. In my late 40s. I think it's important to not support the elite. The billionaires would end poverty if they gave a damn✌🌍🎸
It would be fair to point out that this is veeeery early punk and was entirely self produced by the band so you wouldnt have a heavily edited, produced sound. Much more raw.
dig it too!...nice one....thanks :) x
I second Conflict as a band worth checking out as well as the Subhumans
What is your cup of tea? Datura and deadly nightshade if I ever meet you. Then you you will care.
Jesus Wept!
You almost completely missed the point regarding the first verse dude…
Go back and listen again bro…
The Best....
All Crass, all Subhumans . . . greatest two anarcho punk bands who ever did it !!!
You want punkrock??? Chumbawamba homie. Chumbawamba is punkrock.
I’m slowly learning that fact!
To understand crass you had to be there in the day, the 70s 80s you have no chance. Different time different place. But same things happening today.
Thatcher!....don't worry about it, glad you don't understand the rage. Nice one mate, thanks for thinking about it....get on, move on. Aa :) x
You should absolutely listen to Pat the Bunny.
Wicked song geezer..
Hey I wish you would listen to my band called (A).P.P.,L.(E). especially our song called "If In Heaven" which you can find on my singer's playlist under her name Jae Monroe. The band is influenced by Crass. Bands like Crass were called Peace Punk. It's a genre from the 80's and mostly UK bands but we were influenced by all the Peace Punk bands and were the only Peace Punk band from NYC. Check us out!
I wanna point out that Crass was specifically talking about Catholicism, not just religion.
No, the lines refer to the Pope but the sentiment was about all the Christian religions. As it was written from a UK perspective then it focused on Christianity.
