Um......Kirby gets a new game roughly every 2-5 years. Majoras Mask was a Zelda game, which gets regular new releases, Paper Mario has gotten new releases regularly up until the WiiU games.

Nintendo has done things like this in the past. They did it with Pokémon because the successor to the gameboy was about to come out and Pokémon had already cost more than any other Gameboy game. They forced Gamefreak to release it in fear the new handheld would make the Gameboy lose favor.
Of course Pokémon proved to have easily been worth every penny and the planned successor failed and so the original GB was forced to soldier on for several more years. Pokémon was the sole reason the Gameboy managed to maintain it's relevance during those years despite it's obsolete technology. It gave Nintendo time to make the Gameboy color.

Guys my uncle works at Nintendo and he gave me a big leak for a new mario game!. The game is called Mario fries an egg. In the game you play as mario and you run a restaurant. Customers will ask for a fried egg with some toppings. There are lots of toppings like pingu shrooms memes and so much more. You then go into a level and you have to collect as many fried eggs and toppings as you can. Once you get the flag pole you will go back to the restaurant and depending on ur score you will get coins!. That's all the info I can give Rn but he also told me it's coming out on September 11th 2019 at 4:20 PM!

    *Timestamps*
    0:00 *Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp*
Pocket Camp is a mobile Animal Crossing mobile game and was released fall 2017. But the game was actually secretly delayed to that, and was originally going to be launched march 2017. The reason for the delay was actually because the game was about to be changed.
The original version was called "Animal Crossing: Town Planner" and would have been a "building town simulator" where the player could visit other players towns and trade items with each other. The game was cancelled and changed to Pocket Champ because it was too bare bones and too simplistic. Wasn't in Nintendo standards. So the game was eventually changed to the Pocket Camp we all love today.
    2:30 *Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker*
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was a spin-off game of Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U released in Holiday 2014 (January 2015 in Europe and Australia). The game was filled with the Captain Toad levels from 3D World.
At the beginning of the WIi U life circle, Shinya Takahashi wanted to do a game with diorama-like levels. But to make the game work, they needed a character that couldn't jump. So he decided to use Link as the main character, because he couldn't jump in the traditional Zelda games. So Captain Toad would originally be a Zelda spin-off!
But the concept was shown to Shigeru Miyamoto and it was shoot down completely. This was because of misunderstanding of the concept. But the idea of the diorama levels would later be reused by Shigeru Miyamoto in Super Mario 3D World, that would later spawn the spin-off Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
    5:02 *Project H.A.M.M.E.R*
Project H.A.M.M.E.R was a hack n Slash game for the Wii revealed at E3 2006, but was sadly cancelled years later due to conflicts at Nintendo.
But the project actually started development on the Gamecube in late 2003, after 1080° Avalanche was finished, a team at Nintendo Software Tech started to work on this hack n slash game. The game was often called "The Dynasty Warriors for the west" and was made because Nintendo wanted a first-party hack n slash series. The game started development in 2004 and was about to released in the twilight years of Nintendo Gamecube.
At that time, Nintendo was working on a new console, Nintendo Revolution (Wii). They wanted that game ported to it instead, which would be easy, except for the team didn't actually know it was the Wii. Even if the team had a key place in Nintendo, they didn't know anything about the console, and they first knew about the Wii Remote at it's reveal at Tokyo Game Show 2005. After that, the team did the hard task to port that nightmare to the Wii with the Wii Remote controls.
One year later and the game was changed to be Project H.A.M.M.E.R, with using motion controls. The original version has yet to surface to the public.
    8:12 *Splatoon*
Splatoon is a third person shooter released for the Wii U May 2015. The development of Splatoon is well dcoumented and because of it we know a lot about the game's unused content. They also revealed a lot of information at GDC.
Splatoon was actually originally going to have rabbit characters, but was later changed to squids. But did you know that the game was originally going to be a Mario game? In early development. Yoshi and Mario was playable and played like Splatoon Turf War. But the developers changed because there was no reason for them to shoot ink. So they went to make original characters instead, which would end up as the Inklings.
Fun Fact: Super Bell Hill from 3D World was actually at one point a playable map for Splatoon, because it was a test map.
    9:48 *Tokyo Mirage Session **#FE*
Tokyo Mirage Session is a Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem crossover released on the Wii U in summer 2016. The game was first announced as "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" and was directed by Kaori Ando, who first had other ideas for the project.
In mid 2010, Ando tried to make a Pokémon X Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo DS. It was shut down by Nintendo early on because they already had green lighted a Pokémon Tactic RPG called "Pokémon Conquest", and was pitched recently before she showed her concept.
Days later, she pitched a idea for a Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei game. Nintendo liked it and green lighted it. The had soon a meeting with Atlus about it. The game was announced in January 2013 and was in development by Intelligent Systems. The game would be more like a Fire Emblem-ish experience.
But during production. The focus changed and Atlus are developing it instead. The game would also shift focus from a FE-game to a RPG. The game was soon in development and was first released in Japan in December 2015 as Tokyo Mirage Session.
    12:13 *Aura Aura Climbers*
Aura Aura Climbers is a obscure Nintendo game for the Nintendo DSi. Developed by Nintendo Software Technology and produced by Kensuke Tanabe. The game was about the fallen star "Aura Aura" that wanted back into the sky. (Gameplay is in the video)
But Nintendo actually wanted to use a existing IP for the game, and that IP was the Yoshi series, because he could use his tongue to climb and work as a Yoshi spin-off game.
The developers didn't want to use Yoshi and instead wanted to have the freedom they already have for the game. There were some discussions about it but the idea was shut down by Satoru Iwata, because he wanted to fulfill the developers wish to make it with the freedom they had and so they could release it at time. It was released in February 2010 to positive reviews.

With Splatoon, the Fire Emblem thing and the Aura Aura game, its seems that Nintendo actually respects its developers enough to allow them to make the type of games that they are familiar with and with concepts that they want. While they might have ideas to tie to games to existing properties like Mario, it seems that eventually they will relent to reason. I say this because some people are saying EA forced Bioware to create a type of game (Anthem) that isn't in their area of expertise.

Gave the guy behind the counter all of that..and he handed over a brand new virtual boy. I went home super excited.. Slammed in ?Red Alert? ..I think that's what it was called... And withing hours I was calling the store to see if I could trade back.. Nope... All trades were final. I still have that virtual boy to serve as a reminder..
