Thanks SO MUCH for this spectacularly detailed and well filmed video. I have a Torium 30 and have been wanting to tear it down and clean it for years but could never find decent, high quality, well lit, well filmed tutorials. I am well on the way to finishing the re and re now and am so grateful to you. I also watched some of your other videos and will be doing my old Penn reels next. I truly appreciate that you took the time to make these vid's!!

Hi there, thanks very much for your most informative video, however I have a better plan for the clicker button on the star drag that works for me every time. There’s a hole down the center of the main shaft unto the hole for that spring and clicker button goes into. I have a small screw driver that will fit down the hole down to the clicker button that has a grove behind its head that after inserting the spring, i use this small screw driver into the slot to hold the pin in place against its spring. Don’t forget to load the screw driver with the star drag so that you can then screw on the star drag till you reach the bottom and then remove the screw driver and the clicker button will fit back into its right place inside the star drag.
I hope I have explained well enough and this is how I do it.
    Take care stay safe.

Thanks for watching and the detailed response. Yes, I understand and know the hole you're referring to. It just hasn't worked well for me, but I'll chalk it up to my nervous hands causing the screwdriver to slip while I'm screwing down the star drag.
Thanks for informing others of the proper way to do it. More vids to come... spread the word about the channel.

There is a better way of getting that click pin back in my friend. Put the spring and click pin in place, put the star drag back on a few threads, and stick a thin flat blade screw driver into the hole on the top of the main shaft and pull the spring back while you gradually tighten the drag. That does the trick. Thats what that hole is meant for. 😊

@@owenbosen4254 Thanks for watching! I know what the hole is supposed to be meant for. Read my comment to the other person. More vids to come!

The tool you used to pop the pin out from the main shaft to get to the bearing - where can I buy that?

Thanks for watching the video. The person I purchased it from is taking a hiatus, but you should be able to find something similar on eBay. Try searching for fishing reel pin remover.
