The dinosaur thing started with Alex's grandson. He gave g-pop his favorite dino to take on tour with him. The crew thought it looked lonely by itself, and started adding to the collection. The Barbies came from the crew from an running joke about never seeing any gals at the shows, and put together Alex's own groupie entourage.
We aren’t bigger fans than you, we just have more of a history with it. You seem right on par with the serious fans. It’s the appreciation that counts. And that you have Big Time! That’s why we love you. 😄
They made fun of themselves so much in the later years. was too funny. they always put on a great concert and tour. Awesome songs. Great reactions. keep em coming.
Do it again! Do it again! Do it again! Love it! Bigger fans than you? More experienced and familiar with the music, lyrics and history, sure, but it's hard to imagine a bigger RUSH fan than you! I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say you're just as enthusiastic as I was when I first discovered them. They only had three albums out back then but I played the heck out of them, and then a couple of months later 2112 came out! Good times! Watching you witness these songs and performances for the first time and seeing how much you enjoy all of it reminds me of those days. Your RUSH reactions are so much fun!
As they got older their humor became a bigger part of the show. I believe the little skits with the band members started with this tour. I was a little surprised that they got Neil to take part as he is generally less enthusiastic about being in the public eye. He actually has a good sense of humor so it works out well and it’s nice to see all 3 of them involved.
Redhead RUSH Wednesday! You know I’m here! 😁👍 Let’s Go! You are too much fun! Hey, it’s a fun band. You bring out the RUSH. This is a nice live version that brings the memories back. I have what I later termed, ROCK PRIVILEGE. I didn’t know it at the time, I just went to as many concerts as I could. It does seem unbelievable looking back on it. It was a different time when all of this was just starting. I just happened to be at the right age, at the right time, in the right place with the right taste and the right desire to see all the Classic Rock shows. I was very fortunate. ROCK PRIVILEGE!
Saw the S&A tour in St Louis and Phoenix... I remember when Geddy first talked to us, he commented on Kings of Leon abruptly stopping their show a few nights before due to pigeons roosting in the overhead beams... Ged looked around and said, "Oh.. this is the place with the pidgeon problem." Taking a defiant stance he then announced, "Well, I don't care how many birds crap on HIS head (pointing at Alex), we're not stopping the show."
If that was the old Checkerdome I saw a Blues game there back in the day with pigeons circling the ice... That's where I saw them for the Roll the Bones tour...
“Do it again.” 😆 You make me laugh. Thanks for sharing your RUSH experience with us. It reminds us of ourselves when it was the first time around. The concerts is where it really happened.
Your sense of humor is so attractive to me maybe because I can relate to it so well as I have the same sense of humor don't mean to scare you LMAO 💯💯💯at some point I would love to see more comedy on here that was so fun to watch you laugh ❤❤❤Speaking of Dinosaurs you know my last name is Rex both my sons have middle initials of T so I have 2 T Rex's 🦖🦖🦖#reaction #rush #rushreaction #geddylee #alexlifeson #neilpeart #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #bestbadjokes #36K
I miss those brilliant bastards... so glad they left us the amazing catalogue of music that they did... talked about them a lot with fellow concertgoers when i was up in Denver last month seeing Maiden and Priest... i always get great comments and conversations when i wear my Rush gear to shows.
It is so awesome to see a band that has pasted the threshold of working to being able to just fuck off and enjoy being on stage. Knowing that people are having just as much fun as you are on stage. Wow, just awesome. So much fun from these guys.
If there's one thing those guys will do, it's open up ones brain. Been listening to them for at least 50 years and to this day I still hear things I never heard before. 🤯
Love this! Limelight and Spirit of the Radio might be tied for #1 Rush songs for me. And yes, this feels a little bit slower tempo. (One more one more time 😀.) I can't imagine a better life than doing what you love with your best friends.
This concert is live in Holland. I watched a video tonight, a few hours before watching you video, about the Canadians liberating the Dutch during WW2, and Holland is a part of that area. There are celebrations still where Canadian soldiers that are still alive are thanks with parades. Think that love of Canada may add to the enthusiasm of the crowd.
It was a tad slower than usual, but that's just proof that they weren't faking it. That it was truly live. Unlike so many these days who rely purely on backing tracks.
@coils4foil537 That's my one gripe with this live recording, everything's just a few bpm too slow for my tastes. I don't know why they played everything so slow that tour when that wasn't the case for R30 and Clockwork Angels
Love Limelight, because it was really an exploration into Neil's way of thinking. You're right that them being such good friends was a key to their success & longevity. Their manager also managed Van Halen & made the comment that there came a time when those band members couldn't stand being in the same room with each other. That would never happen with Rush.
I have just never seen the members of a band who generally seem to get along and like each other so much... so joyous on stage. And when you go through their catalog of music it is so wide-ranging hitting...so many different aspects of life and music and everything
This had to be one of the first Rush tracks I ever heard. This one and Tom Sawyer were played often on MTV in the station's early days. I remember Vital Signs getting some airplay as well.
So lucky to have witnessed this tour twice - in 2007 and 2008. Rush 4Ever!!! 🤘🤘 The 'Snakes & Arrows live' DVD also had Alex on the DVD menu as a genie's head w/ an Indian accent 😂
Sooo much Love!!! Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
RED CONGRATS ON 37 K I AM SO PROUD OF YOU AND HONORED TO BE A SUBSCRIBER YOU ROCK❤❤❤I ADORE YOU💯💯 #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #bestbadjokes #37K
Geddy wearing the infamous BLAH BLAH BLAH t shirt. I dont know if you saw it but Alex's speech from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an all time classic
I’ve seen them play THIS particular song ALMOST as many times as Tom Sawyer and Alex has flubbed a note or two once or twice BUT the sonic impact of him going into that solo filling the venue with sound louder than a airplane and more perfect(more times than not) than the album, is heaven on earth. 🤘🖖✌️🎸🥁🎤🎹
The story on the dinosaurs is, as I remember, that Alex asked his grandson how they could make the show more exciting and he said 'Dinosaurs' as he was obsessed with them at the time.
This show had a fantastic video at the end of the interval where Alex took the audience on a tour of the snakes and arrows game board. I can't find it on RUclips, but it's worth digging out because Alex is just off the leash crazy in it 😂
Lerxst is the ultimate prankster of the band. I would suggest , if you haven't already, pick up and read Geddy's book 'My Effin Life' Delicious insights into Geddy and his journey, also many, many insights into the dynamics between this fantastic trio of musicians
The barbies signs are actually mock fan mail, which is the joke. Alex said he never gets fan mail because there were no girls at Rush concerts so he got the barbies and gave them fan mail.
Good question Red! We might need a Top 10 (or 20?) list from you at some point! You have enough under your belt at this point for a bit of a retrospective!
Another interesting thing. During the opening, the Scottish character, telling Geddy to get onstage,, looks like he is wearing a Stewart tartan. If it is Stewart, wonder what the story is behind the choice?
I think they slowed it up because of Geddy Voice because there were so many high parts in this song I’m not a guitar player but people that play the guitar say this is one of his best solos. I am a drummer. I got the hardest part.
The tempo is slower and I believe that's because Geddy's voice needed more time to reach the higher notes. As he's gotten older, his voice has dropped some.
I don't know what my favorite rush tune is but there is one I like that you still haven't reacted to. I'm not going to tell you what it is but maybe I'll request it one day.
There are redheads. Then are redheads who like great music. Then there are weird hot redheads who vibe out on Rush! Does it get any better than that? 🤔 (Well, actually there are doubly weird hot redheads who vibe out on Rush and also sport license plates from certain badass sttarships!! 👍) RHN, you’re certainly 1-in-gazillion! Keep up the great work! Hey, with your endless curiosity I thought you might like an intro to a very talented music guy named Rick. This is just one of hundreds of great videos of his. He offers great technical breakdowns and commentary on a LOT of different music styles, bands, and songs, including our 3 favorite Canadians. Wiki up his background. You will appreciate him. Thanks for your channel. It’s always a bright spot in the day and good for a gorgeous smile! ✌️😎🖖🏻 ruclips.net/video/yj93v9j2A4A/видео.htmlfeature=shared.
Hey RHN, Alex is one of the few with whammy bars on his Les Paul guitars. I'm sure there are others, but not very many. Usually they are on Fender strat style guitars. PRS, Hamers and so on. Anyways, Awesome reaction. As normal. You are definitely a Rush fan until the end !!!! Have a super week !!!! 👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love that Neil had his drumsticks with him in bed. 😂
That is just SO funny, and SO Rush humor. Thanx for the explanation.
My wife and I were snakes on stage in st Louis that tour
We aren’t bigger fans than you, we just have more of a history with it. You seem right on par with the serious fans. It’s the appreciation that counts. And that you have Big Time! That’s why we love you. 😄

I saw this show in Toronto and of course they were outstanding! Thanks for the post :):)
Thank you, red. You're right about this version being somewhat slower.
Redhead RUSH Wednesday! You know I’m here! 😁👍 Let’s Go!
You are too much fun! Hey, it’s a fun band. You bring out the RUSH.

@chrisaustin8442 this was at Verizon (formerly Riverport).
Oh.
Let's Go BLUUUUUEEES!
I would have to agree limelight puts me in my happy place every time!
Pure class
“Do it again.” 😆 You make me laugh. Thanks for sharing your RUSH experience with us. It reminds us of ourselves when it was the first time around. The concerts is where it really happened.

They put together great intro and intermission videos. Lots of RUSH-isms and puns.
I miss those brilliant bastards... so glad they left us the amazing catalogue of music that they did... talked about them a lot with fellow concertgoers when i was up in Denver last month seeing Maiden and Priest... i always get great comments and conversations when i wear my Rush gear to shows.
This tour was the last chance to see my favorite band live in Milan in 2006. I remember it as if it were yesterday RUSH forever in my heart
It is so awesome to see a band that has pasted the threshold of working to being able to just fuck off and enjoy being on stage. Knowing that people are having just as much fun as you are on stage. Wow, just awesome. So much fun from these guys.

I think the tempo on all S&A DVD is slower but sound quality is superb…especially the drums
@coils4foil537 That's my one gripe with this live recording, everything's just a few bpm too slow for my tastes. I don't know why they played everything so slow that tour when that wasn't the case for R30 and Clockwork Angels
@@erikboris5029 To be fair, that was a long tour for them. It was more than a year long tour.
Love Limelight, because it was really an exploration into Neil's way of thinking. You're right that them being such good friends was a key to their success & longevity. Their manager also managed Van Halen & made the comment that there came a time when those band members couldn't stand being in the same room with each other. That would never happen with Rush.
Secret touch.
If she had not done it yet, I wholeheartedly agree!
one of the most tasty guitar solos Alex plays.
Red is 👉 Living in the limelight! ❤ 😂
The roadies and crew wrote notes on the post-it notes that Alex’s Barbie doll groupies are holding😂😂
I have just never seen the members of a band who generally seem to get along and like each other so much... so joyous on stage. And when you go through their catalog of music it is so wide-ranging hitting...so many different aspects of life and music and everything
❤love the reaction! I think you’ve achieved major fandom of Rush.
The Barbie dolls all held little post-it notes the road crew used to full out differently before each show.
Some were just hilarious 😂
This tour was both my sons first concert it was awesome
R50! Have a beer in a collectible can! And then toast some wine!
I love your reactions neighbor. God gave rock and roll to all us. You look amazing by the way. ❤
I love rush❤🎉
This had to be one of the first Rush tracks I ever heard. This one and Tom Sawyer were played often on MTV in the station's early days. I remember Vital Signs getting some airplay as well.
watch all the extras from this dvd its hilarious lots of shorts
Saw this tour in Tampa Florida. Was at the concession stand grabbing a beer when I heard the start of this. Lost half my beer running back to my seat.
Love the way you totally lean into the music. Good ears.
Rush - The Movie!
Featuring:
Ben Stiller as Geddy Lee
Alan Rickman as Alex Lifeson
Tom Hanks as Neil Peart
🎥
The outtakes from these intro's are really funny too x
The outtakes from this intro were hilarious. I won’t ruin it in case she decides to check it out.
So lucky to have witnessed this tour twice - in 2007 and 2008. Rush 4Ever!!! 🤘🤘
The 'Snakes & Arrows live' DVD also had Alex on the DVD menu as a genie's head w/ an Indian accent 😂

Saw that tour in Dallas. They played Mission from HYF!! 🙌. BTW, a reaction to Mission from A Show of Hands would be awesome. It’s just so emotional!
Yes Red, does seem a tad slower than the original? Still awesome though. 👌
Another great reaction Red!! I got to say , YES, you are a "nerd", DIG the Enterprise license plate! A girl ( woman..) after my own heart!..
Geddy wearing the infamous BLAH BLAH BLAH t shirt. I dont know if you saw it but Alex's speech from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an all time classic
The Rush live DVDs normally have those funny clips (at least all that I have). They are just fantastic.
Great is great. It's why they lasted
Unfortunately, this was the last tour I was able to see them live. However, like every show I saw before, it was amazing.
Thanks. Never saw that vid
In the event someone hasn't already said it, those dinosaurs behind Alex are his grandkid's toys when they were little.
I totally expected a baby Geddy to be in that carriage too! Great minds run in the same rut. lol
" I can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend "
The story on the dinosaurs is, as I remember, that Alex asked his grandson how they could make the show more exciting and he said 'Dinosaurs' as he was obsessed with them at the time.
Coupla snakes and a dragon on the stage there..a power trio?? I would think so!!!
This show had a fantastic video at the end of the interval where Alex took the audience on a tour of the snakes and arrows game board. I can't find it on RUclips, but it's worth digging out because Alex is just off the leash crazy in it 😂

This girl is cute as a button! Have u ever seen Rush live? Thanks for a nice critiquing of them though! I've first seen them in '74. FTK. ✌️
I think they slowed it up because of Geddy Voice because there were so many high parts in this song I’m not a guitar player but people that play the guitar say this is one of his best solos. I am a drummer. I got the hardest part.
👏😍
I’m pretty sure Getty and Alex really deeply miss their friend Neil.
and who said Rush was just about the music 😉
I love their crazy skits and yes Alex is adorable. I love all of them but there is something about Alex.
This rendition was a bit slower.
Did everyone get that the Scottish guy was also Geddy?
You need to give your views on the
Story of Rush .
Watch “ TIME STAND STILL “
It’s a story about RUSH from the first note to the last note played.
The tempo is slower and I believe that's because Geddy's voice needed more time to reach the higher notes. As he's gotten older, his voice has dropped some.
Love it ❤❤sending you a big hug 🤗
I can see Alan Rickman
You need to do a live Tom Sawyer with the South Park intro
I don't know what my favorite rush tune is but there is one I like that you still haven't reacted to. I'm not going to tell you what it is but maybe I'll request it one day.

Your phobia for snakes.....lol!! yah not high on them either.
Baby Geddy in a diaper
Alex and his Barbie group...incase too many men in the front row...lol
This would be...the best (and weirdest) band...ever. 😁
